Ideal reader AKA Target Market

Those are hard questions, Tasha. I'm going to have to think about that. (Not a lot of time to answer at the moment.)
It's a good idea to know this stuff. You might ask your agent who your ideal reader is. Think about a worst case scenario your agent gets hit by a bus - where does this leave you? March 2012 I was hit by an 18-wheel truck and for 5+ weeks I was pretty unavailable to clients while in the hospital and in-patient rehab. i was in outpatient rehab 5 days a week for another 3+ months. Its left me with what may be permanent brain damage. Some of my clients have stuck with me, some haven't. I'm not able to work as many hours or think on my feet the way I used to.
Knowing your ideal reader impacts your blogging, how you use social media, possibly how you write (how much swearing, sex, violence, abuse, smoking, etc. is appropriate). It's about more than just "marketing". It makes you a better reader and helps you build better relationships with your fan base if you are using social media.
