I like a lot of spiritual books myself. Religious is OK for me but I like to be inspired more than preached to. Not that there is anything wrong with religious literature. I have read quite a few.

Sam, I would love to read that book in the future just to gain a historical perspective if nothing else. Sounds fascinating.
Sharon, I don't like reading memoirs of celebrities as a general rule either. Unless you consider coaches celebrities. I do like reading some of their memoirs. Most of them are extremely positive and uplifting.

Rick, I've got a book that you'd probably love (and maybe have, given your comment) - The Nightmare Never Ends is an awesome guide to THE NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series, probably not too hard to find on the used market. Tales from the Crypt: The Official Archives is a favorite of mine in this area, as is The Evil Dead Companion.

It's strange, but for all the books on horror movies I have, the majority deal with the classic Universal films or films from other studios during that time. I'll have to poke around for the ones you mentioned, especially The Evil Dead Companion. I was told the Bruce Campbell autobiography Leading With My Chin, was pretty good too. Thanks for the suggestions!!

I was just looking for the book you mention and there are multiple books by this title. If you give me the author, I will check it out sometime.

The last one I read was REALLY good:

Some others I've read and really liked: Letter to a Christian Nation, Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space, Into the Wild, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark, The God Delusion, The Language Instinct: How the Mind Creates Language, Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why, The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution, Your Inner Fish: A Journey into the 3.5-Billion-Year History of the Human Body, Kinds of Minds Towards an Understanding of Consciousness, The Stuff of Thought: Language as a Window Into Human Nature, The Ancestor's Tale: A Pilgrimage to the Dawn of Evolution, The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason, God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything, Just Six Numbers: The Deep Forces That Shape the Universe, The Universe in a Nutshell, Marching Powder: A True Story of Friendship, Cocaine, and South America's Strangest Jail, River Out of Eden: A Darwinian View of Life, Jesus, Interrupted: Revealing the Hidden Contradictions in the Bible and Why We Don't Know About Them, God's Problem: How the Bible Fails to Answer Our Most Important Question-Why We Suffer, Forged: Writing in the Name of God
Holy cow Chuck! And you need to add MORE to your diet? LOL
I definitely need to start reading more non-fiction.

Yeah, I really do. I bet it's not even 10% of what I read. It kind of makes me feel bad.
A couple I know are in my future:
A Universe from Nothing: Why There Is Something Rather Than Nothing
The Way of the Knife
That is impressive! Wishing you a happy adventure into your further exploration of the non-fiction world.

Thanks Cindy!

I love anything Grateful Dead. What was that term they used to call us? Oh yes! Guess I'm just a Dead Head :-)

Yep, Dead Head's the correct term. I highly recommend the book.

I've read good things about Slash. Have you read that one?

No, not yet.
I'm with you on the nature books Michelle. I also like non-fiction about natural disasters.

Hi, Michelle!
How have you been?
It's great to have you here with us!:)

I need to get some non-fiction reading in soon myself Chuck.

I have a couple of Abraham Lincoln biographies I would like to eventually read.
I had to look that one up Chuck. After reading the synopsis, I don't recall hearing of this one. Sounds interesting.

I have a few on him too Cindy. I hope to be able to get to them sometime next month.
If you remember, let me know a couple of days before you start and I'll see if we have any of the same books.
