Jae headed right for the food. Dancing? No. Gazebo? Where all the couples would go to make out later? No, thank you. Food? Yes, please. Jae paused and gave the table a quick once over, then reached for one of the little artisan sandwiches. He took a bite. This is why I love this school. Were those miniature cupcakes? Jae helped himself to one of those, too. Delicious. Nearby were the plates. Jae took a plate and helped himself to whatever appealed to him.
When Endellion reached the table she immediately reached for the bite sized red velvet cupcakes. She was surrounded by guys who were almost a foot taller than her, so darting between them to grab a plate with a few goodies wasn't too hard. It didn't seem like anyone even blinked, despite the fact that her hip length hair trailed slightly behind her. If there was something she'd miss next year, it was the amazing food of Kale Ivy. However, she had her heart set on skipping senior year to be 'home-schooled' by her brother, who promised to take her with him on his travels. It worked out pretty well, since her birthday was only a couple weeks into the school year. Anyways, with all the drama that was involved in going to school at Kale Ivy, it seemed that there were more benefits than drawbacks to being homeschooled.
Jae scooted over and nearly knocked over a small girl with really, really long hair. "Sorry," he mumbled to her through a mouth full of cupcake, and then turned bright red because there were crumbs falling out of his mouth. Talking to girls was not his thing. Socializing in general wasn't his thing. He quickly swallowed the cupcake (a waste, really) and said to the girl again, this time clearly, "I'm sorry." It seemed like a lot of Jae's time outside of tutoring was spent saying sorry. He managed to bump into people quite a lot.
Endellion stumbled slightly, almost dropping her plate, but she managed to quickly regain her balance, as well as catch the cupcakes that had jumped slightly into the air. Overall, it looked as if nothing had happened at all, other than the fact that one cupcake had fallen on its side on the plate. Still, Endellion didn't mind, instead she giggled slightly at the boy's behaivor. She wasn't the type to hold a grudge, and she recognized the boy as one Benjamin 'Jae' Kerr, notorious for his constant stumbling."It's fine," Endellion smiled, brushing some of her auburn hair out of her face. Silently she wondered if this was an appropriate time to ask him if he could try tutoring her in history later. After all, she'd heard he was a wonderful tutor, and her mother's condition for allowing her to go with her brother next year was that her History class average had to be a B. Of course that was the one class she truly struggled in, generally barely passing with a C.
The girl had a nice smile. Jae couldn't help but smile back. Now that he saw her face more clearly, he thought he recognized her. "Endellion. Right? I'm Jae," he said. He was vaguely aware that she wasn't on his team, and he probably shouldn't be talking to her. But the rivalry didnt start as soon as the school dance... did it? Jae had never been very into all the team competition stuff. He didn't like playing pranks on others, even though he'd had a few done to him. Gosh, there was that one time with shaving scream and the pie... Jae shuddered to even think about it. Actually, he was pretty sure that Endellion's team had been the one who pulled that prank on him. Anyway, this wasn't a time to hold grudges (not that Jae ever held grudges). There was a pretty girl in front of him and Jae had to pull himself together.
Endellion was well aware of the guys on her team which were glaring across the room at her, but that didn't keep her from answering, "Yep, that's me," in a fairly upbeat manner. "I'm afraid I'll have to apologize in advance for anything the Blue Torches do this year, most of them are a great deal more competitive than me, and you seem to be a favored target of theirs, Jae," she added with a rather apologetic look. This silly game made it nearly impossible to socialize with over half the school. After all, everyone was constantly looking over their backs, paranoid that they're the next target, and generally, they are. Of course, the one teammate that overheard this shot her an even dirtier look, but she promptly ignored this. Jae hadn't done anything to her, so why on Earth should she hate him just for being on a different team?
Jae glanced around nervously, aware of Endellion's teammates, all of whom were glaring at the two of them. Oh, and yes, there were some of the Black Gavels... also glaring. Jae was about fed up with the team fighting. And he had two more years to endure of it. Well, for the time being he could keep talking to Endellion. What could they do about it - beat him up later? Well, they probably could. Jae pushed that thought away. "It's fine," he said, "and I should extend the same apology for my own team."
"I wish I could properly accept that, but no one ever bothers with me. After all, it's not like I ever participate," Endellion answered with a slight grin. "This place really is quite ridiculous, more like a post apocalyptic society where we're fighting for resources rather than a boarding school." She couldn't help but wonder if he could pick up her accent, which tended to become blatantly obvious the more she spoke, and was rather out of place considering she obviously took over her mostly Irish mother. However, there was little she could do considering she learned to speak English from Brits, so she obviously took on their accent. She took pride that at least her Welsh and Japanese sounded like she was a native speaker of both.
Endellion had a interesting sort of accent. There was British in there, but also something more. Surveying her, Jae decided he wouldn't be surprised to learn if the girl spoke a few languages. He didn't mention it, though, for fear of sounding rude. "I couldn't agree more," he said.((I have to go now.))
(Aw, come back soon =*()(Also, any ideas for something interesting to happen? Otherwise I don't think this'll go anywhere...)
Walking into the refreshment hall, Vivian yawned as she made her way over to the table, her eyes raking over the food. And of course there was Jarret ducking out into the dining hall to no doubt devour more food. That guy....honestly he ate food like it was going out of style. A total glutton and yet he never seemed to gain a pound. Laughing slightly under her breath she picked up a glass with something clear and bubbly inside. It appeared to be sprite and upon a sip turned out to be sierra mist. Not too big a disappointment. Either way tonight would be all about scanning over fashions. Making sure that hopefully the annoying prats from last year may have transferred. Drink in hand she turned and headed off to find someone to entertain her.....too bad she hadn't brought her phone with her. Instead having most likely left it in her closet somewhere....oh well.
A pair of worn, black leather combat boots peeked out from under the table cloth, as if inviting someone to see who was attached to the out of place shoes.Attached to them was the infamous Issanah Da'Tan, aka the number one hater. Obviously though, it would be confusing to see the "she devil" at the moment as she munched on her favorite sweet treat: a cream puff.
However, her boots were still in plain sight, notoriously flirting with taunting curiosity. It almost suggested a drunk teenager was napping under the table.
Alex let's go of Klementina's arm. "Now look, they're all the way on the other side of the dance floor. She has quite the personality doesn't she?" She was commenting on Sadie as her eyes scanned all the refreshments. "Well, now I'm going to get something to drink. Why don't you go find someone to dance with or something? Seriously, you look completely lost. This is a social event, which usually means you should socialize a bit." Alex gave the girl a smirk and a pat on the shoulder before she wandered away from her towards the drinks. Wonder if the punch is good? Better get some now before it's spiked.
" Winder if she knows I'm the school freak. The social toxic." She thought to herself grabbing a drink and walking... Well walking somewhere. All she hope is that fat Sadie was done chasing her. She doubted it though

Issanah crossed her Daniels, causing her boots to jinglewith the soft sound of metal, and something in the heel of her left boot shifted with a thunk. The odd thing was that it gave the peeky pose a feminine look.
Issy licked her fingers clean of the powdery sugar and relaxed, listening to the loud music. She played with her earring shaped like a pair of gold bullets and decided she really wanted a cigarette right now. But no-sir-ee! Cigarettes themselves were not her thing, it was the lovely nicotine she wanted. She pulled her boots under the table with her, and took one off. She sniffed it curiously, but snapped her head back at the oder. Good lord! It smelled like the boy's locker room and nachos!
Shaking her head (and suddenly wishing she could find some coffee to smell) she turned it upside down and several things came out. A couple dollars, some change, a razor with a plastic protector on it, a pen, and a nicotine patch!
"Yes!!" She cheered, then slapped her hands over her mouth. After a moment, she swept everything back into the boot, then slid it over her tiger socks. Rolling up her sleeve and slapping a patch on was the best thing she had done thus far today.
With a calm look on her face, she stretched her legs out, her boots once again peeking out.
Calm mood = GONE."Who the ---- is asking?" Issanah shot, if it was human, she hated it. Except... no, that was a perfectly good exception. Anyways, it was time to hate the person at hand. She pulled in her boots, and lifted the cloth to see the most unreal face she had ever seen. You either had to be gay, a God, or a really sexy warlock (or a Google-image emo boy) to have THAT face.
Which is why the following phrase came out, "Who the ---- are you?" She asked in awe, but still with an edgy side. It was natural, it just happened. She could be talking to her own baby and not be able to say 'I love you' without it sounding vaguely sinister.

((Endellion should go ahead and ask for history tutoring, and everyone around them would get pissed off and stuff. Then we could wait until after the dance for further interaction?))
Bethany walked directly to the food, even if she was skinny eating was almost a hobbie for her. The place was arranged exactly like last year, so the food would be probably the same. After looking over the shoulder of some students, she took a plate and started picking up things. From the other side of the table she noticed the mini cupcakes and almost runned over them, the food was one of her favorite things in this place. She took one in her mouth and almost choked, they were so delicious.

Instead of finding Vivian, or even Roland for that matter, Lydia decided not even to waste her time looking. She wouldn't find Vivian unless she wanted to be found--which was unfortunate, because she wasn't answering Lydia's texts. And as for Roland? He was probably off gathering rumors from some poor soul who didn't know any better. Which, to her immense dislike, were apparently about her. Roland only ever bothered to contact Lydia when he had something he could use on her, and evidently he'd found something.
"I'm surrounded by idiots." she sighed, picking up a strawberry from the table as she walked past.

Liam found himself gravitating towards the refreshments table. He had only arrived at Kale a couple of months before summer vacation last year and therefore had never actually been to one of the welcome dances or whatever they called this ridiculous social gathering. Honestly, he just didn't get the point. Being forced to spend an evening with people who he either didn't know or knew vaguely and didn't like wasn't exactly his idea of fun. Liam picked up a cup and headed over to the punch bowl. He noticed a girl standing there, filling her own cup. He moved forward and picked up the ladle when she was done. "I almost hope it is spiked, it would make the night a lot more interesting," he said with a smirk.

@ Boogie Man"No." she answered simply, and rather dryly as she emerged from under the table. A lot of people felt confused when they first gazed upon Issanah. They saw the round face that had much potential for being adorable, and the dash of very faint freckles across her nose, the cupid's bow lips...an they the whole picture was taken it. Eyes darkened by sinister makeup, glare of death, and icy skin. IT was probably the clothes too. Issanah would wear her boots and a oversized jacket over a PROM dress, or while meeting GOD.
She glared at him, and looked him up and down. Standing at 5'6, they were almost eyes to eye, "You're short." she told him, not adding anything to it. Usually something like 'for a man' would accompany the phrase, but Issy didn't say much unless it was rude or sarcastic. HIs height just happened to be an observation.
"Interesting? Depends on how you would define interesting." Alex, raising an eyebrow, replied. Taking a sip from her cup then looking over at the guy who had spoken to her. "An accent and a freckled covered face? You must be Liam Bursnell, the guy who transferred from Wales at the end of last year." She spoke casually, there was nothing special about it, it just meant he was another student. Obviously, others didn't quite think the same as they fangirled over the transfer student from Europe over the internet. Pathetic really, give a guy an accent and the desperate will flock straight to them. "I'm sorry to inform you, but I don't quite think the punch has been spiked yet. Might have to wait until later, seems no one's been clever enough to sneak it in yet." Alex shrugged, taking another sip of punch. She didn't plan on getting drunk herself, not being fond of bumbling around like a moron. If other people decided to get drunk, it was fine by her, it just meant that they were less tight lipped when it came to questions. "Never the less, the punch is still quite delicious. Though, perhaps if you were being a bit picky, there's not enough carbonation to it. " Alex smirked.

"Hm, I hope you're not talking about me," RJ said, ignoring all personal boundaries and coming up behind her and resting his head on her shoulder. He smiled and took her strawberry from her. "Thanks for the fruit by the way," he said, taking a bite. Rj and Lydia were alike enough that they got along well, but they also knew exactly what to do to tick each other off. He wasn't sure how she'd react to him eating her strawberry, but he figured it would be amusing or at least a good conversation starter. "So, enjoying the dance so far?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He had arrived fashionably late in order to avoid that awkward first forty-five minutes when people were just tricking in and nothing exciting was happening.

And if I was?
Lydia might have been alarmed, but she was used to this kind of thing... at least from RJ. He frequently amused himself with the job of her personal tormentor. Though she had to admit to herself, if he didn't tease her like so, her life just wouldn't be the same. RJ was one of those kind of guys that made things more interesting, though it took you time to get used to it. "I was, up until some boy stole my strawberry." she remarked, turning her head slightly to get a look at him--of course she was smiling. "Oh look, you're even uglier than I remembered."

Liam smiled when he mentioned his freckles. Was his accent not enough to identify him? To his knowledge, there weren't many guys walking around with Welsh accents. "Well, you're right. I'm Liam that one British transfer kid, as everyone likes to refer to me as," he said with a shrug, filling his cup. He appreciated the fact that she didn't seem to really care who he was or where he came from. It made for a nice change. Most guys would love to get the attention of every girl withing hearing range the second he spoke, but to him it was just irritating. "I believe the definition of interesting is something that holds or captures one's interest. In other words, not this party," Liam concluded, sipping his punch. "As for the punch, it's pretty uninteresting as well. Alcohol free and slightly flat."
"I'm flattered that you know who I am, but I'm not going to lie and pretend I recognize you from last year," Liam said with a shrug. "We probably already met, but being passed around from person to person like some kind of shiny new toy doesn't exactly spark lifelong relationships," he said with a smile.

RJ frowned. "Wow, what a rude boy," he said, finishing the strawberry and tossing the top with the leaves onto the nearby table. He laughed at her comment about his obviously flawlessly attractive face. "And you're even grumpier," he said, tousling her hair like he would to a little kid. He reached over and grabbed another strawberry. He was about to hand it to her when he thought of a better idea. RJ got down on one knee and took her hand in his. "Lydia Ashton, will you do me the honor of forgiving a rude, strawberry-stealing boy?" he asked, looking up at her pleadingly. "I offer you this fruit as a token of my humble apologies."

"I'd have to say I agree, this party is anything but interesting. Possibly for the first few moments it held my attention, but after that it's just a bunch of egotistical rich kids with problems that won't matter to them in five years time. In the end, I would have to say there is much difference between them and any other teenager, other than how expensive their outfit is." Alex commented, emptying her cup. "In the end though, at least the punch makes up for it." "I guess I should introduce myself, since I already know your name. It's Alexis McDonough, though you can call me Alex." Alex introduced herself with a smile."And you probably wouldn't recognize me considering this is my first year. Fooled you though, didn't I? Let's just see what everyone thinks about their toy now that it's now so shiny."
"Do you know what I feel like now? Dancing." Alex stated, tossing away her cup."What about you pretty boy-" She jabbed him in the chest with her pointer finger, smirking at him,"...feel like dancing?" Alex raised her eyebrow, stepping backwards towards the dance floor. It was a dance after all, and what was the point of coming to one if you weren't going to dance?
@ Boogie ManIssanah nodded instead of verbally reply, then touched her shoulder to her cheek instead of introducing herself, "Issanah Da'Tan." she grumbled, looking around her with a ferocious glare, the nicotine WAS doing it's job however, she felt oddly calm and less sinister. Normally, she would be shoving him against the wall, spitting at him, then walking away saying something about 'scum of the Earth'.

Making an irritated noise when he fucked up her hair, Lydia pushed him away. It was all fun and games until someone went for the hair, like seriously? What possessed someone to mess with perfection? She ran a hand through her hair, redepositing her curls to a more attractive placement.
Lydia turned, ready to let him have it--but he'd already shifted around her. Or below her, that was a more accurate description--grabbing her hand, in some kind of attempt to seem attractive and sweet... or at least that's what she suspected. Lydia stared down at him, taking in everything, from the stripped shirt all the way to the strawberry in his open hand. "Wow, you're kind of attractive when you're groveling, I think I like it." she teased, taking the strawberry from him.

Liam finished his punch as well and set his cup back down on the table. "I happen to like my expensive clothing," he said jokingly. "And it's nice to meet you Alex. I'm glad there's someone a little shinier than me, people kept mistaking me for a freckly Ken doll. But who would choose Ken when there's a new Barbie?" he said.
Liam raised an eyebrow when she called him pretty boy. "Dancing? How could I say no to the new girl?" he asked, following her onto the dance floor. I think this party just got a lot more interesting," he told her.

RJ smiled and stood up. "I went from ugly to kind of attractive in about six seconds, I think that's a record," he said. In fact, she wasn't looking too bad herself. Her skirt was just the right length to keep guys curious, but also to let them know that she was most likely way out of their league. "So, how was your summer?" he asked. "What'd you do? Sacrifice any small animals? Go skinny dipping in the great barrier reef? Live with the European mole people?"

If he was impressed by that, RJ would love to know the record he could set for becoming unattractive again. If he even thought about touching her hair, he could go from topping the scales at ten to dropping the dead weight into the antarctic in three milliseconds. As she bit into the strawberry though, she couldn't deny that he'd probably never appear completely revolting to her. No matter how irritating he was, he did have some sort of charm about him that was mildly alluring.
Lydia shifted her weight, clicking her heals together. "It was summer, I mostly spent it with Vivian, contrary to your running imagination. To be honest, it was rather uneventful. Well, not entirely. But once you go to Kale for three years, if something new doesn't happen every day--it feels like an incredibly slow three months." she shrugged, meeting his eyes. "What'd you do, rob cradles?"

After I did my routine cradle robbing, I went backpacking around South America. It was fun for the first week, but after staying in smelly rooms and getting bitten by mosquitoes in places that I would rather not mention, the novelty of it all kind of wore off," he said with a grimace.
RJ looked around at all the people who were either dancing or talking or simply standing around. "Senior year, should be pretty interesting," he said. Things at Kale were never boring.

"That sounds disgusting." she replied, being completely honest. Lydia would never do something like that, it wasn't that she didn't like adventure... that just really didn't sound appealing. She wasn't even sure why the idea would appeal to him in the first place. Everyone around here came from money--if you were going to travel, at least make it cleanly... and bug free, that was probably the most horrifying part.
"If by interesting, you mean totally dramatic." she clarified, taking the time to appraise him whilst he was otherwise distracted. Lydia would never let a guy see her checking them out--they'd get the impression she was interested. Uh, no. "Truthfully? I'm waiting for one of the teachers to crack and have a mental breakdown in the middle of class. I've been pushing Mr. Harver for the past three years, I think a couple more well-placed comments will send him packing."
Here at Kale, harassing teachers was practically a ritual. They got paid enough, they should at least have to work hard for it.

"Yeah, it was pretty bad," RJ admitted. "Luckily it was cut short due to certain unexpected circumstances. Unfortunately, those unfortunate circumstances included me getting really bad food poising. That's what happens when my parents try to act like they're not rich snobs," he said, rolling his eyes. "It'll be fun," they said. "A real adventure," they said. "A good chance for some family bonding." Well, if family bonding meant heat stroke and puking in public restrooms then they were right.
"Hm, Mr. Harver. That's quite the challenge; he's a tough one," RJ said thoughtfully. "I wish you the best of luck. It only took me four months of slipping creepy notes into my homework to send Mrs. Kingsbury off to some mental rehabilitation sanctuary," he said, smiling as he reminisced. "I still send her get well cards sometimes."

Lydia grimaced, wrinkling her nose. "I could have gone without that image." she pointed out. She could actually picture it, RJ laying on a public bathroom floor, touching nasty toilets other people used. She made a face--she wouldn't wish that fortune upon anyone, not even RJ on his worst day.
"I knew there was a reason I loved you." she sighed, grinning at the memory. "She cracked, I remember the day well. It got me an automatic pass out of my final exam, since she freaked in my class. I didn't know that was your work." she laughed, eyes widening when he continued. "I wouldn't continue it after he left, if he does. I would let him come back, then start the process over again, just for fun."

"You didn't have to go through it," RJ muttered. That was by far the worst summer vacation he had ever had. He never thought he'd say it, but he was glad to be back at school. Sitting at home while his parents tried to think of things that normal middle class families did was quite frankly, amusing and irritating at the same time. RJ's parents had suddenly decided that they wanted to prepare him for the world and teach him "real" values, which they knew nothing about. Honestly, RJ enjoyed being rich. He didn't shove it in people's faces or boast about it or anything, but he doesn't pretend to be anything he's not.
RJ put a hand over his heart. "Oh, you love me? Wow, I- I don't know what to say. I think we're moving a little too fast here," he said. He took a bow. "You're welcome." He smiled. "I only continued afterwards because my mother knows the owner of the sanctuary. I'm merely a concerned former student who wants to know how she's doing," he said innocently. "And happen to know that she recovered from her meltdown rather quickly and decided to stay anyway because it was better than dealing with us."

Tilting her head to the side, Lydia made a pouty face at him. She didn't need to make a comment on his mumblings, her expression conveyed it all. Poor RJ--little baby got sick and had a bad summer. Even though it wasn't entirely justified, Lydia did take comfort in the fact that she probably didn't have the worst summer by comparison. You would think that would make her thankful... yeah, you would think.
"Moving fast would imply sincere emotions." she corrected, though she was only teasing. "At least you're keeping tabs on the damage you caused, though you're probably part of the reason she isn't coming back. Just watch, right after we graduate she'll come running." Or she could coming running now, RJ's hair was pretty darn cute. Was that weird? She was a teacher. Maybe Lydia just liked his hair? Eh.

RJ stuck his tongue out at her. He planned to make up for his bad summer by having an epic school year. Who knew what drama and surprises would be in store for them? "Yeah, I wasn't exactly her favorite student. No gold stars for me, I'm afraid. More like detentions I never showed up for," he said with a smile. He laughed. "She'll probably throw me a graduation party, celebrating my departure from this school. I wouldn't be surprised if..." he trailed off, his easy smirk turning into a confused frown. "What on earth are you looking at?" he asked. "Is there something on my face, or in my hair?" he asked, running a hand through his golden locks.
Adena ~ "Je vous ai donné tous les." wrote: "Liam finished his punch as well and set his cup back down on the table. "I happen to like my expensive clothing," he said jokingly. "And it's nice to meet you Alex. I'm glad there's someone a littl...""Commenting on my blond hair already, are we? I'll take that as a compliant freckle boy, but people are going to be disappointed if they are expecting a Barbie." Alex responded with smirk, stepping onto the dance floor. In her yellow outfit, she was 'shiny' indeed. Alex didn't care if people stared or if they ignored her completely, personally.
"I would be offended if you did. Let's see what everyone else thinks of Ken and Barbie dancing then, shall we?" Alex smiled, arching a mischievous eyebrow. "Interesting? If you say so, but I'll wait a bit longer before I make any speculations." Beneath her charismatic attitude, Alex was actually quite cynical, and definitely not easily impressed. Liam, at least, was able to provide some decent conversation.
"From pretty boy to freckle boy," Liam observed. "Hm, I think I like pretty boy better, even if I'm not the shiniest Ken doll around. And from what I can tell the only thing you share with Barbie is your blonde hair, which is a compliment," he clarified. While some girls would giggle and blush at being compared to Barbie, Alex definitely did not seem like that type.
Liam laughed. He had to admit, he was curious to see people's reactions to them dancing together. They were both new and from different teams, which was bound to catch people's. he could hear their snide comments now. Look at the newbies. Don't they know how things work around here? Liam knew exactly how things worked, he just didn't care. "Well, you may think it's speculation, but you have definitely captured my interest," he said. He wasn't trying to flirt with her, it was simply a fact.
((Should we move to the Dance Floor topic?))

Lydia rolled her eyes. Sticking his tongue out? That was a real move. He wouldn't be getting gold stars from her either--not that he was trying.
Her eyes almost widened when his thought direction changed, but she covered the momentary surprise rather well. Lydia hadn't really been paying attention to his words, so when he called out her staring, she almost had the decency to blush. Almost. Lydia was thicker than that though, it took a lot to embarrass her. "I was trying to decide whether I liked your hair or not." she clarified, dropping her shoulders in a shrug. "I'm thinking not." Lies. All lies.

Stephanie was keeping to herself as she took a sip of her punch when someone came pushing. Normally she would just glare but this someone just happened to grope her breasts when he pushed her and made her drop her drink. Eyes narrowed she quickly found the bastard who would regret ever coming out of his mother's womb. Stomping her way over to the refreshment table, she grabbed a few cups in her hand and tapped his shoulder. Smiling at him she didn't wait a second longer as she spilled them all over him. Her fake smile faded as she glared at him murderously. "Don't you ever fucking push me again or touch my breasts or you'll regret it. Who the fuck do you think you are coming in here like that and thinking you own the place. Sorry your not happy you little brat but the world doesn't revolve around you, not even this school does."
@Rose-
RJ smirked. "Oh come on," he said taking a step closer and lowering. "You know you can't resist my hair. No one can." Actually, that was one of his biggest pet peeves. It was astounding how many people touched his hair without his permission. And then there were the weirdos how actually asked if they could touch his hair. Honestly, his head wasn't a free sample for people to just touch at their leisure. RJ titled his head forward. "Go on, you can touch it if you want. One time offer," he said with a wink, doubting she would actually do it. He spent more time on his hair than he would care to admit.

((that's really interesting, how he hates his hair being touched--yet he touches hers :P ))
She stepped away from him, making a face. "Sorry, not interested." she retorted, reaching for another strawberry instead of accepting his offer. Lydia really didn't want to touch his hair, like really? That was kind of weird. But considering RJ was the one offering, it was probably just a ploy to trap her into something. Lydia wasn't about to give RJ any kind of notion she was interested--his head would swell to the size of Texas. "If you wan-" she paused, feeling her phone buzz. Why the hell was Serenity texting her?
"Keep an eye out for Ophelia, for the good of the team."

((Haha yeah, I was just thinking about that :P))
RJ shrugged and stood up straight. "Suit yourself. You are definitely missing out." He noticed the confused look on Lydia's face when she pulled out her phone and glanced at the text message. "What does Ophelia have to do with the good of the team?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Come to think of it, he hadn't seen Ophelia at all that night, not that her been looking for her. He could have quite easily slipped his notice.

Missing out on the chance to grope his locks of amazingness? Eh. She could pass indefinitely. Lydia liked running her hands through people's hair just as much as she liked people touching hers... so yeah, you probably got the picture. Besides, some people were just unhygienic and it was disgusting to even look at, much less touch.
"I'm not sure, but I feel like I need to find out." she said, her voice sounding unsure. What was up with all the texts blackmail messages she was getting tonight?

RJ smiled. "Well I'm not doing anything and this party gets even more boring each year, so I'm more than willing to help," he offered. "Whatever is going on, it sounds interesting and I want in on it." First day back and things were already getting crazy: just the way he liked it.
"So that's all Serenity said? To keep an eye out for Ophelia?" Even if they did see her, what were they supposed to do? You'd think if this was for the good of the team, she would have been a little more specific. "Have you seen Ophelia at all tonight?" he asked, his eyes sweeping the room once more.
