Walking out into the balcony, Stephanie was grateful for the fresh air. Honestly it was tiring seeing all those girls bounce around and giggling like a bunch of idiots. Ignoring the other girl she pushed herself up so she was sitting on the railing and took out her phone, honestly she had better things to be doing. Wistfully she thought of her baby, which was the car she was currently fixing up. (Sorry I suck at first posts >.<)
Pierce stared at the necklace he was wearing, making a face at the fact that it was a little too girly for his taste. First off, he wasn't a necklace sort of guy, and there was a blue jewel in the middle of it. He preferred the bracelets to this thing, but oh well. It was a rule to wear so he may as well. Next year he would be getting something better anyways because next year he would be a senior. Smoothing down the black blazer he was wearing, Pierce walked out onto the balcony, noticing to girls there already. He smiled at them in a friendly way but didn't say anything as he leaned against the wall to take a small breather. Having just come from talking to all his teammates, the guy needed a small break before going back out there again.
Somewhere in the back of her head Stephanie remembered the hockey game was on. Taking out her phone she hoped to see how it was going. Blond eyebrows scrunched together in confusion when she couldn't seem to get signal. Her parents paid a crap load, they always had signal. Getting down she tried to get more bars, completely forgetting about the other two on the balcony. She walked around like a damn idiot, eyes narrowed. Lost on concentrating for bars she was surprised when she knocked straight into someone. "Oh crap!" Startled she dropped her phone onto the floor. "Damn,"She muttered, she'll have to fix it again. Picking it up, she looked to see who she had knocked into,"Damn. My bad. My stupid phone isn't getting bars and there's a hockey game tonight. Are you alright thought?"
Marcus walked out towards the balcony, making sure to avoid some girl who was cussing. Yeah, he didn't really want to be her friend with a negative start and all. Marcus wasn't an astrology nut who worried about Karma, but he wasn't going to hang out with someone just because they were there either. He leaned over the edge of the railing, looking down at the people still walking into the Dance. He glanced around again, trying to figure out if there was someone he should go say hi to, or if the welcome party was more about meeting new people and whatnot.
When Hayden smiled at him in return, Pierce thought about going over to her to talk. Yes, he knew who she was, they were on the same time after all and in the same year. Why wouldn't he know of her? Maybe it was time to actually talk to her, but when he was about to do that, someone bumped into him. It was the other girl, what's-her-name? He didn't recognize her, which meant she wasn't part of Blue Torches. At that he grew a little less friendly towards her. Anyone who wasn't part of his team was the enemy, even at the dance where they were all together. With a tight smile, he nodded his head. "I'm fine," he replied. "The hockey game is on tonight? Oh right, I forgot about that. Well I hope your team wins." It was obvious he didn't want to spend much time in her company. He actually didn't forget about the hockey game, he kept checking the scores on his phone, but he left his friends for that exact same reason anyways. He needed a breather, which meant no talking about sports for maybe five or ten minutes. Turning his attention back to Hayden, he smiled again. "It's Hayden, isn's it?"
Side stepping the girl he didn't know, Pierce easily reached Hayden and smiled as she began to speak. She was funny, though he raised a brow at her a few times at some of the things that she spouted such as not being a stalker. Nonetheless, he found it amusing so that was a good thing for her. Then again, the girl was on his team, so naturally he would take the things she said in good humor. "Hi. Please no, don't shut up. I found everything you said very interesting," he said after she stopped babbling. "So does that mean I am stalker worthy? Do people stalk me?" It was sort of cute, he wasn't going to lie. "Yep, I'm Pierce. I better be or else I'm confused too." So the tall guy was trying to lighten the mood by making a few jokes himself, at least that was better than tearing her down --though if she were on the opposing team, he probably would have done exactly that. Pierce was a competitive guy. To him there was no such thing as talking to the enemy. Anyways, back to Hayden. "Having fun so far? Why're you out here? The party is inside."
@Temper Trap Clarice made her way out onto the balcony, a soft chill running over her exposed skin. She gave a quiet sigh though and rubbed at her arms in return, moving in a ballerina footstep towards the railing. This was her first year here and already she wasn't so sure about everything. Perhaps getting to know more about all the teams and all the people like her and not like her alike ... It would get better surely, she told herself. However there was still a bit of worry, categorized as such a shy person if was hard to speak to people before they spoke to her unless she was pushed to do so. Stressful to say the least. With her cheeks and the rest of her skin cooling down further in this kind whether Clarice felt slightly more at ease - only slightly though. Running a hand over her pulled back hair Clarice reached our and wrapped her slim fingers around the bar of the railing, peering down for a mere second before out beyond past the entrance, vaguely able to still see people at the bottom of her vision. Please be able to not be a loner for Clary. She thought to herself silently.
"Hullo." Marcus spoke softly, matching Clarice's calm and slightly aloof attitude as she walked in his direction. He watched her rub her arms, but there wasn't much he could do about the wind. She seemed nice enough, better than the girl who had been cursing, so he wouldn't mind talking with her. Marcus focused on her a bit more, deciding she was a freshman same as him. "I'm Marcus," he introduced himself with a slight smile, although it looked slightly forced. He wasn't sure if he should keep talking or wait for her to add something, and decided to ask her a question so she'd be less likely to ignore him due to team rivalry and all that. "Why aren't you inside dancing with some guy? I'm sure you'd get asked...and you seem graceful enough." Well, Marcus wasn't really sure about that, but she hadn't tripped on her face yet, so he figured a white lie couldn't harm anything. Yeah, Marcus was a bit blunt, but it was like he didn't even realize it. The same small smile was still on his face, but at least he was looking at the sky instead of staring at her some more.
Clarice blinked away from off the balcony and over in the boys direction. Tilting her head she gave a small smile in return, her cheeks turning a soft puckery pink at that compliment. Or maybe it was a come on. Honestly she didn't know but didn't bother to care at the particular moment. Dropping her hands away she shrugged her shoulders, crossing her ankles shyly. "Oh that's nice, but I'm not really a dancer. I mean I guess I could be, but I also don't really know anyone here." She responded. Shaking her head a little, wishing she were able to put her words together a bit better she looked up at him through her lashes, letting herself maybe start over. Or at least gain some stability as it made sense to greet a name with a name before anything. "I'm Clarice." The shy-babe added, that small smile of hers still evident much as his was as well. She had been aware that the people here were sort of nose in the airs and that she would be going the fleet but it was sort of nice to know there might be someone willing to simply ... Be friendly.
Marcus almost laughed when she started rambling but figured that would be rude. All it meant when people kept talking was that they were either nervous, or didn't know what to say. He couldn't blame her though. Being a freshman was tough even if you didn't go to an elite school. His eyes dropped to her legs when she crossed her ankles, and stayed there for maybe a couple of seconds longer than necessary. So sue a guy. Marcus tilted his head right back at her after a small nod of his head. "Well, if you find someone with your color, that's an automatic bestie thing as far as I can tell." Marcus laughed, making it sound like a joke--and yet it was almost strange how true that was. "Nice to meet you though, since we're not besties." Marcus added with a slight shrug, and awkward laugh.
Right the teams, I've gotta get used to that. Clarice thought to herself with a little bobble of her head in return. "Well very nice to meet you too, Marcus." She replied with a feathery laugh. Gripping the railing she rocked back onto her heels slightly, tilting her head to the side ever so slightly as her eyes flickered away again. But as fast as they left she had repositioned herself to face him a bit and they were back yet again. She wasn't sure she wanted to ask or anything but decided it might be best with how the system here worked and all. Besides if the teams were supposed to be so opposed to each other then was there a limit she should be thinking about when it came to who to hang out with and who not to? Jeepers so many questions. "So what color a you then? And I guess what year, like if you've been here more than one then I ... Well I definitely appreciate some heart shaken advice." Another pop of laughter that went along with a shy shrug of her shoulders.
"I'm a Green Dymia, but just like you this happens to be my first year. I managed to get on student council, since no one else wanted to be the treasurer, and they've taught me a bit already." Marcus leaned towards her with a dramatic look around. No one from his team was around, and he planned to not be part of the divisionary factor this school had. Any advice he could give her would be from a self proclaimed hippie, so she probably wouldn't believe him anyways. "The token you picked up? Yeah, I guess it's really important or something. I saw this one kid almost get kicked out just because he refused to wear it." Marcus nodded his head solomly. With that, he shrugged, returning to a normal conversational distance from her. Marcus wasn't really sure how she'd react, but figured it couldn't be too intense. She was such a slight looking girl.
Clarice tipped her head, peering down at her sophomore token. She hadn't planned on getting rid of it or anything so she figured she didn't have much to worry about. Biting her bottom lip bashfully she glanced up at him as he moved away again, eyes taking over his appearance and taking it all in. A green dymia. Was she supposed to hate other houses or was she just supposed to ... Clarice silently made a face to herself, looking away. "Well then I guess I shouldn't lose it." She said quietly, running her hand over the bracelet subconsciously. "...I'm a purple rave." She added lightly, unsure what her reaction should be much less his. Maybe just bouncing around would do the trick, the attitude all around was bound to settle in within the first few days if not the whole week. Clarice reassured herself that she'd fit in just fine, quick as a whistle. "So you said this was your first year," she observed after a second, voice bashful though curious nonetheless. "Does that mean you're a freshman or did you just drop in like me?"
"I'm a freshman." Marcus admitted, with the slightest of falters in his smile. She seemed to be getting more distant somehow? Marcus wasn't sure if Clarice was lost in thought, or if upon the new knowledge she no longer wanted to talk to him. He looked at the ground, fingers curling around the balcony's railing. "Purple's a good color." Marcus told her, breaking what felt like an interminable silence but in actuality had probably been mere seconds. He dropped his hands to his side and smiled at Clarice again. Marcus changed the subject a bit abruptly. "It's better if you talk to the other ravers, they'd be able to tell you more." With that Marcus shrugged, turning away from her. "If you want to dance, come find me." Yeah, he was leaving the choice up to her. Clarice's excuse had been that she didn't know anyone. Well, a few sallies between them wasn't going to tell her much. If she wanted to get to know someone, she should find someone talkative. Which is why he decided to leave...right?
Clarice pressed her pink lips together regretfully. Mm, why must she be that sort of person? Shy and unsure all the time. Bleh! Pushing off the railing she piped up, "I'd actually really like a dance now if you were up for it." She called after him before he could go wandering to far. Why the hell not right? After all the school would obviously know about the teams, but putting them all in one big dance room and a few side doors seemed silly if everyone was going to huddle into four corners. Clerics knot her hands together almost nervous as to what he may say in return. Technically he had offered her a dance, she was only accepting correct? Why he nervous. So testing her hands away from each other she dropped them awkwardly to her sides, rocking back and forth on her tip toes and heels. She wondered for a moment if he thought it strange that she was a grade above him, maybe assumed differently, but her she may as well be a freshman seeing as she was new. They pretty nearly in the same boat. Nearly.
Marcus blinked twice, snapping his gaze to meet hers. Was Clarice being serious? "Sure." Marcus replied, quickly getting over his shock. "The dance Room is back inside though." He grinned at her yet again. Maybe this school would be fun, since she didn't seem to mind his hippie like tendencies. It was a much better start than he'd expected, that was for sure. Marcus paused for a second, debating something internally. A second later, he held his elbow out towards her. A formal escort type thing. With the pink dress she was wearing, Marcus figured she would appreciate the effort. Marcus wasn't sure she'd take it though. Not like they were in an old movie, and they weren't going very far. Marcus took a deep breath, letting it out slowly through his nose, trying to stay calm. Yeah, she was going to find out that he was actually a horrible dancer. Like, the kind who not only has two left feet, but manages to step on yours as well. He probably should say something to her? But then it would seem like he was backing out. That wouldn't be the first impression he wanted to leave her with. Not when he'd been the one to bring it up. "I hope you're not expecting much." He said, figuring it was better to let her know not to have high expectations.
Clarice took his arm with a small smile. Okay so this was going well, good, now all she needed to do was get along with everyone like this. Should be a piece of cake, right? As they made their way back inside she looked over at him, "If you mean dancing I think you'll do just fine. It's not really all that hard, you shift your feet left and right and move in a circle. Easy." She helped along with short but true instructions. Honestly everyone ever always talked about being such a terrible dancer but was it actually true? Sometimes she supposed but really there was no specific way to dance to anything big the tango and the waltz... Getting out of her head Clarice felt herself ease as the conversation seemed relatively laid back. Shy or not she found that after talking to someone like him long enough you were good to go - mostly that is. And if it made him feel better she wasn't expecting anything really, just conversation. (Shall we move this to the correct destination? :3)
Esmee had made her way all around the dance, but she hadn't had any luck finding Alven, so instead had first made her way to the refreshment area, retrieving herself a glass of punch before retreating here; The balcony. The place itselg was beautiful, and she could see for miles upon miles of just beautiful scenery, that was, when you looked past the entrance that lie directly below. It made her want to just draw it. Draw it all. And if there was one thing she wasn't all to big on, it was artwork. Sure, it was nice to look out, but when it came to drawing it herself usually the thing came out absolutely awful. But still, it made her happy sometimes. With a small sigh she found herself leaning against the railing that prevented her from falling, glancing down at the people below her before back up again. The quiet was nice, peaceful, and the fresh air gave her a chance to clear her head. Although she'd much rather be with Alven right now. Shame that she couldn't find him.
Alven had been more so following Esmee as she traversed the dance in search of him. He wasn't quite sure if it was nerves or just the oddity he found to be pleasant as watching her that kept him from calling out. Either way, he just let go on by. Standing now just a ways away from her, he anticipated the moment that he'd been thinking about for the better of his entire summer. "Esmee," he called softly, a smile on his face as he stepped up beside her.
Esmee chewed on her bottom lip somewhat nervously as she looked out over the balcony.Where was he? It wasn't often that she was something bugged her so easily, but she had been looking foreward to this throughout her holiday, seeing him again, and now that she was here she still hadn't found him as yet. She flutttered her eyes shut, long lashes resting upon high cheekbones as she did so, the wind causing her silky brown hair to sweep slightly to one side. Her eyes re-opened as she heard her name being called, and she almost didn't want to look around at first as a large grin crept onto her face as she turned slightly to see Alven, her perfect boyfriend standing there in the flesh. Oh god it had been to long. Way, way to long. "Allie!" She cried out happily, throwing her arms around his neck as she used her affectionate nickname for him, having to stand on tiptoe to reach up to him, burying her head into the crook of his neck. "I missed you." She murmured against his skin softly.
Alven's grin widened just that much more to hear the nickname he'd been unable to hear for quite some time. It was nice to be around Esmee again, after spending enough time with his god forsaken family. The thought of the expanse of summer gone by in the torturous presence of either parental unit could have dampened his mood, had not had Esmee in his arms. "I've missed you, too," he replied smoothly, kissing the top of her head, "How was Ireland?"
Esmee just couldn't stop smiling. Was it bad that throughout the whole holiday this was what she had been waiting for, to return to school? She had gone on endlessly about Alven whilst she was away, and sure they had chatted via social networking and texting, a skype call here and there, but it was never the same as being with that person in reality. It was never the same as standing in front of them, wrapping your arms around them and just holding them. "Glad we're on the same page then." She said happily before giving off a nod of her head. "It was...Alright. I haven't met Aunt May's family before, but they were all nice and welcoming. And I'm sure they probably knew you better than they knew me, since I might have talked about you a little bit." A little bit would be the understatement of the century. She moved her head, tilting it back to look up at him before softly prying his head down slightly and touching her lips to his in a soft, tentative kiss, the first it what felt like forever.
@SUPREME J"Trust me, you are very interesting," Pierce chuckled, smiling down at her warmly. And rather beautiful too, but he kept that to himself for now. Later he would slip it casually into the conversation. Better not to look like he was just hitting on her right away. Wouldn't want to scare her off. Then he would be all alone on the balcony with all these other people he hardly knew. It was quickly becoming crowded up there that he was tempted to ask Hayden to accompany him elsewhere. Maybe they could take a little walk to the gazebo, have a nice conversation there. "Don't worry, you don't look like an idiot. And if we're going to be honest here, it's sort of cute. Sorry, was that too forward? Maybe I'm the one who looks like the idiot here." Once again he smiled, finding her a little strange, but didn't find it too bad. Plus, he's had girlfriends in the past who have babbled on about things like the latest fashion styles and shoes, so Hayden's rambling was hardly annoying to him. Leaning forward, Pierce rested his elbows on the railing and looked down to see exactly who was down there. "People watching? You're into people watching? Is it fun? How does that work?" he asked curiously. Pierce has never taken the time to just sit back and watch people before, though he was rather good at observing them. Was that the same thing? Probably not. "I've never people watched before." He grinned over at Hayden. "I'd love to learn how. Sounds like it could be fun, and help waste some time." At her question about why he was there, Pierce shrugged. "Everyone needs a little breather, don't they?"
(x3 bahah yaaay and i love hayden. she's adorbs<3)Pierce has heard of Hayden before, a few rumors here and there, but he decided to ignore them. Everyone spoke about how strange she was, how her head was always up among the stars rather than planted firmly between her shoulders. Yeah Pierce was the opposite, but at the same time he has nothing against anyone who was a little different from him. There was also the fact that the girl was on his team after all, he should get to know her rather than guessing what she's like from what he has heard about her. Smiling again, Pierce thought about how cute Hayden looked whenever she blushed, which only made him smile even more. It's always been easy for Pierce to get the girl, though with Hayden he felt a little different. This was all in good fun. She was fun. He wouldn't take advantage of her because she seemed like the innocent sort, and while he loved to have fun with girls, Pierce knew how to be gentleman. "I guess I'm one of the rare few that think it is an endearing quality," he chuckled softly. "And it's understandable talking fast when you're nervous. I mean you're intimidated by the person, or you're overwhelmed or you don't have much time to impress them. So it's hard. I get it. I some times talk fast when I'm nervous too, or talk way too much." Pierce laughed. "Sort of like now I guess. Although I hope i don't intimidate you or overwhelm you. I assure you that you've made a good impression on me."
"I know, sad right? I mean who hasn't people watched yet? I guess I'm a people watcher virgin?" Pierce chuckled, shrugging easily. Even for him that was a little lame but he got the feeling she wouldn't judge him too harshly on that stupid joke. "Hmm just making up stories huh? Alright maybe you can show me how it's done? Like that couple down there, what would you say about them?" He asked, nodding his head over to a couple who were seated on a bench and were sitting rather close. They looked rather happy together, which made Pierce feel bad for looking upon them with such interest.
(x.x i thought i already replied to this one)When Pierce noticed her hair fall across her face, he reached over gently and pushed it behind his hair. "Nope, nothing wrong with being rare," he replied with a grin. Well this was turning out to be far more fun than he thought it would. After all, Pierce only came out to take a small break yet there he was talking to this beautiful girl, who was strange but not necessarily in a bad way. He wasn't sure how anyone couldn't like her, though he guessed in a school like this anyone who was a little different was looked down upon. Pierce really wasn't all that different. While he treated his teammates kindly, he wasn't too friendly to anyone outside of it, but that was for an entirely different reason. So it really wasn't the same, right? Deciding not to think about, he grinned easily again. "I get that too. It's hard to think up of some good conversation these days. People can be really sensitive if you accidentally say the wrong thing." He shrugged. "You don't have to worry about what you say around me. Well, just don't diss hockey in front of me and we're good," he chuckled, winking at her playfully. "And I'm glad I've made a good impression on you. I was nervous there for a bit."
As she spoke about the couple down below, Pierce listened in amusement. "Hmm she asked him out first? Yeah I can see that, she looks like the type of girl who likes to take initiative, make the first move," he agreed, chuckling softly under his breath. "I sure hope the boy brought a condom. Bet it's not their first time. Probably some time after a few months of puppy love they finally got down to business." Looking over to Hayden he waggled his brows suggestively before laughing as he shook his head. "You know, this is very entertaining. Maybe I should people watch more often," he mused aloud, "But I'd need someone to do it with because I'm such an amateur."
