Just want to say a big thank you to Simon and Patti for arranging the event, and for all the interesting conversation with those who turned up. It was great to meet everyone and to put faces to the names. If you weren't there, you missed a great event. Oh, and some yummy cakes. :p

I second that Shaun. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. I had such a great time and was so lovely to meet you all. It was fascinating getting to know you all a bit more.We have such a great group :-)
Can't wait til the next one :-)
I also wanted to thank Simon and Patti for organising this. I had a very good time. The meeting was really interesting and I hope that this is only the first one in a long line of meetings. And a big thanks to the bakers for the yummy cakes!
mmmmmcakemmmmmIm still riding the high.
now, everyone step outside and look at the perigee moon
wonderful
Whilst I didn't actually sample any of the cakes, I had a really good time and it was absolutely awesome to meet everyone.
And here it's raining. Bleugh.I'll add my thanks to Simon and Patti for organising today.
here's to the next one!
i really do appreciate all the thanks but Simon and I had nothing to do with it being so great. its all down to all of our wonderful groupites.
To show my support for those fellow attendees whose work I didn't pick up there (now reading The Cult of Me and Alice Parker's Metamorphosis), I've now downloaded Few Are Chosen, K'Barthan, The Man from Undead (the curious case of the kidnapped chemist), Broken City, The House on Tremawney, Strictly Murder, Ripples in an Emerald Sea, The Showing, Wanted. I'm boosting all these members books to the top of my reading pile.
Have I missed anyone?

Patti, thanks for your interest yesterday in my "Chamaeleon:" fantasy series for older children. I've sadly neglected them (and the third book which has been half-written for ages)and hardly ever give them a mention.Chamaeleon: The Secret Spy is the first
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0060IBQ36
And the sequel, Chamaeleon: The Dragon Key

Sorry that I've not added tags - I don't know how and I've forgotten the code Simon gave us - so, I'd never make a spy!

Thanks Lynda! I look forward to reading them. As I said, I'm always looking for great books to share with my students. :)
Shaun wrote: "I always forget the tags!!!!! Sorry!!!!! I'll take my punishment like a man."Never mind. I'll save the ankle kick for when I reckon you're not doing enough writing. ;)
I hate a lot of people that weren't there. Oh, wait, thats wrong...Oh sod it, I need to go back to bed.

Darren, Thank you for the book list, I'll make sure I buy any I don't already own.
Shaun, thanks for buying my book. I've bought yours too... actually, I've bought everybody's!
I read all sorts of things so I'm really looking forwards tackling this lot.
Cheers

Finished The Kult last night, if Killers is anywhere near as good I'm going to enjoy it. The Kult has: a great voice; momentum straight from the beginning; and unlike most of what I've read in this genre before, a refreshing absence of filler. I'm going to recommend it to several people, including my mum and sister, who are heavily into this type of thriller. I'll try and get a review up later today.
Thank you very much, Adam. Really pleased to hear you enjoyed it. Yes, I don't really add much 'filler' so to speak, as I prefer to just get on with the story.
I'm currently reading Michael's http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0...
It's very good. I stayed up half the night reading it.
Wonderful prose.
Edit to add...
It's the second book in the series, following on from The Cult of Me which I read and enjoyed back in March.
Hmmm.Don't think so. I'll check n make sure I've got it. Thanks.
Won't be able to move it out of archive onto my kindle til I've got wifi though.

I'm pleased you're enjoying it.
I probably won't have time to start anyone's books until the holidays as I'm struggling to get One Man: No Plan ready for editing over the holidays. Everyone's books are all stacked up ready to go. I'm looking forward to it.
Cheers

Oooh, a day away from this thread, now I return to find flattery! It just gets better!Btw, Jud, I hoped Shaun might secretly like Finwip Village. He was the only other person I saw at the meeting who had a tattoo. I kept mine hidden, just in case ... ;)
