Zoe is smart and well-behaved. Hugo is huge and not-that-bright, and has a habit of accidentally knocking people down by leaning on them.

Flicker in the neighbor's tree during that big snow storm last winter.

Those last couple kind of remind me of Escher prints-- interlocking cubs.
The actual prides were kept in large enclosures that we were let in and out of by one guy who has to run between four 20 ft wire gates. You were supposed to drive through the enclosures with your windows no more than half open. You may notice my window at various stages of up and down in these photos. That's because Zu kept telling me to open my windows to get better pictures, and I kept getting scared and closing them again. Down, up. Down, down, up up up up up.. Do you see how close they got? Great photos, Sarah Pi! Yeah, those are some BIG cats. I'd have been a little nervous, too, with them that close to the car.

I have pictures of the baby goats that I fell in love with over Easter weekend. But, they are on Jared's computer and I can't get to them. As soon as I can I will post them too.
The one baby goat, not more than a foot tall, was so into my rubbing his nose that he would push against my hand & his back feet would come up off the ground. Oh... so adorable!

I loooove that in the 3rd to last pic of the lions, the lionness is laying on her back and leaning her head back like she's waiting for someone to rub her under her chin. :) My dog gives me that look aaaaaall the time. I especially love that the lion looks like he's thinking, "I'm ignoring you."
My dog sleeps on his back like that too, with his hips flipped all the way open. I love the amount of trust it shows... in his case at least. I don't speak lion. (Of course if I did, my window probably would have been even more closed.)

when we had a baby panda born at our zoo they had a 24hour feed you could watch online. productivity in the nation's capitol plummeted.
