I am on Chapter 9 and right now I think Megan is being kinda mean.She needs to put Emma first and let her see her Papa.Emma is just a little girl and very confused and lost.I think if I was in the situation where Jack is clearly innocent I would let my daughter have contact still.
Finished this afternoon. I LOVE it soooo much! I still love Dottie, I really felt for her in Finding Emma. Of course she did wrong taking the girl but the more you read about her the more you understand about her.Jack is just the most lovable Papa ever - who wouldn't want a grandfather like him?
I really love how your passion for all of the characters really shows through in the way you write about them.
I found myself liking Megan by the end, which I'm pleased about. She was obviously very hurt and wanted her baby back more than anything but to me it didn't seem like she had the motherly warmth and love that I hoped she would until the end and then it became clear how events had caused all her defenses to go up, losing her child and fighting to get her back, not only to the home but as HER little girl.

But Kivalina...if it were your daughter - would you see Jack as innocent right away or do you think it would take some time before you could look past all the hurt and anger? Megan isn't perfect - she's just a hurting mother.

Natasha - I'm so glad you enjoyed the book :) And you hit it right on the nerve about Megan. She had all her defences up and I think she was just waiting for everything to come crashing down on her.
I kept asking myself how I would respond...not the way I 'should' but the way I 'would'. It was a hard question to answer.
