I had just posted there, so I'll repost here:Just finished:
Enchanted, Inc. by Swendson
and
No One Lives Twice by Julie Moffett. I read these out of order and would say it would have been more fun to read them in order. I liked the first and third books best. This one was good too. They are over-the-top silly in spots, but great for a laugh. One of my favorite cozy series.
Love, Lies and Liquor by M. C. Beaton. This is the sixteenth book in the Agatha Raisin mystery series. I love Beaton's books, including the Hamish MacBeth series.

I thought Enchanted Inc was ok but not good enough to keep going with series

I think that's where I'm at. It was decent enough for what it was, but the second half it didn't advance much (too much chick-lit and not enough plot). She was a bit of a Mary Sue too, which made some of the other characters look kind of dumb so her supporting cast got less interesting as the book progressed. I'm on the fence. Might depend on if the library has it.
For some reason, I loved Enchanted, Inc. I have no idea why, because normally the 'cutesy' stuff gets on my nerves. But I got a kick out of the entire series (except the last one - meh.)Heidi - I wonder if your library marked Cookbook Conspiracy as "new" because it's in Hardcover? Great read when you can get to it. :)
Maria wrote: "She was a bit of a Mary Sue too"What does this mean? I've never heard that expression before :)

I really liked Julie Moffett's books, too.

Mary Sue is kind of a reference to "can do no wrong, sweet, perfect." I thought a few more players could have showed some gumption especially on the simple things. Not that she needed to do dumb things, but it was overdone, I thought.
It's not a bad read, I just didn't fall in love with it. I love paranormal mysteries, but the plot wasn't very deep or involved. There were far more chick-lit dating concerns than mystery.

:>) No problem!
One of my favorite paranormal writers is Frank Tuttle. Still cozy, but no chick-lit. They're a bit more serious/spooky. Good prices too, similar to the Julie Moffett ones.

You know what? I think you are onto something with that hard cover thing -- the other new books were paperbacks so I bet that is it!

Almost done with
. Great read! Has had me laughing out loud a bunch of times! (Also, reading
. Not doing much for me and taking 4-ever to get through!)

Somehow all the guy characters through they were super cool or something. Just didn't like it. Based on that book alone, I would not try anything else of his.
I'm reading The Diva Frosts a Cupcake but it's slow going for me. I'm skipping a LOT of paragraphs of internal dialogue and (view spoiler).I usually enjoy this series quite a bit, so I'm hoping it will get better.

It was slow for me, too, and my least favorite of the series. Your spoiler I wondered about, too, but it finally does get explained how it happened.

Oh, good. That will be helpful. :)
I'm just about to start
. I really liked the first in this series, so I hope this one lives up to my own personal hype :)

They are all great!!!
Finally, I am getting to Jacqueline Windspear's
. Her books have been mentioned several times and this is the first of a series. so far, so good.
MaryJo wrote: "Finally, I am getting to Jacqueline Windspear's

I will be starting All Booked Up on my Kindle. Have to say I'm not happy with the awful huge margins which can't be made any narrower. Makes you wonder if after the author/publisher/whoever uploads it whether they bother to look at it. Sorry for the complaint, I've had better days.

I am re-reading Juliet Blackwell's Witchcraft Mysteries and getting ready for the new one coming out on the 2nd!!

Recently finished the Marthas Vineyard series by Philip R. Craig. It is a great cozy mystery series that teaches you a lot about Martha's Vineyard, fishing, shooting, how to dig for clams and many many other things. Lots of humor thrown in especially between JW and his friends on the island and in Boston. Really so sad that the author had to die so young. I would have loved to read many more in this already 19 book series.
Kathie wrote: "Recently finished the Marthas Vineyard series by Philip R. Craig ... I would have loved to read many more in this already 19 book series."Kathie have you read the three that were written by Craig and William Tapply? They feature JW and his friend Brady Coyne (who is the 'hero' of Tapply's series), and I really enjoyed all three of them. I wish there could have been more!
I've started T is for Trespass and I'm trying to finish All Booked Up about which the only thing I can say is I've never come across a book that I repeatedly have to look up the meaning of words. The author appears to have swallowed Roget's and labors under the delusion that the more archaic the word the better the book!
I am reading two. One by Julie Hyzy called Hail to the Chef. Love her series White House Chef Series. And the other book is Joanne Fluke's Lemon Meringue Pie Murder. Again, I love her series!!!
Laura wrote: "I am reading two. One by Julie Hyzy called Hail to the Chef. Love her series White House Chef Series. And the other book is Joanne Fluke's Lemon Meringue Pie Murder. Not anymore.
I am currently readingThe Azalea Assault. It's location is near my hometown! Really excited about reading this one! Has anyone already read it? Let me know what you think....
