So If that was not Watson doing Watson's Thing and narrating Who was it? It seems Gaiman would have, in his mind, had a specific Idea of who's POV he was writing from whether he told us or not.

It was Sebastian Moran (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonel_...).In A Study in Emerald he and Professor Moriarty take the usual place of Watson and Holmes.
