www.readitswapit.co.uk You can get swaps in the UK only for YA books as well as ideas if you ask someone on the forums.
I've seen www.bookcrossing.comand
www.betterworldbooks.com
mentioned a lot over on TNBBC. I've never used either though.
Edit: But now I just saw that you're mostly looking for YA sites. Ignore me if you want. My mistake.
My local independent bookstore has this link:http://www.indiebound.org/kids-indie-...
These are recommendations for new books that this organization of independent bookstores like. The link takes you to the kids books, but you can click on the teen list from there. I can't get a link for the teen page to work. Of course they want you to buy, but they aren't pushing too hard on this page. It could be fun to look at their recs.

I use betterworld all the time. They have a lot of used books for $3 (they have new too), and shipping is free, plus part of the proceeds help fund literacy programs. LOVE it.

I'm in love with paperbackswap.com. I can't even count the number of books I've traded on that site!
Fiona - In the thread "Useful Websites," the link you posted about adults who read YA actually brings you to the GR page for a book called Little Daughter.
I run a book blog where I review quite a bit of YA urban fantasy along with adult urban fantasy, fantasy, and paranormal romance. http://otherwherereviews.blogspot.com
I also run a book blog. Re-reading books from my youth and reviewing them from an adult perspective. http://whatireadbackthen.blogspot.com
*Warning! My blog is peppered with foul language and a fair amount of snark!*

Great website! Thanks
I just started reading Melissa C. Walker's blog (author of Violet on the Runway and sequels), and I'm loving it. Maybe it's because I'm a graphic designer and writer (in training), but I appreciate the "Cover Stories" she includes. She gets the stories behind the cover art by YA authors about their recent or popular books, including Sarah Dessen, Sara Zarr, and Elizabeth Scott. It was a topic I always wondered about, and it's nice to hear these described in the authors' own words. She has reviews, interviews, and contests, too. Have any of you noticed that reading an author's blog can make you want to read their books, even if you didn't before?
Anyway, here is the LINK.
Nikki, Nikki, Nikki.... what can I say about your blog? I am trying to work (yes on a Sunday - sucks!) and I keep finding myself on GR instead. I happened to come across your blog and now I really can't focus. I just want to read all of your posts instead of getting my work done. It's great!
Natalee, Thanks for the compliment! I love to hear that people are enjoying what I write. Because I really do love writing those posts!
My favorite book blog is www.blogmawbooks.comThis amazing gal named Natasha Maw does a phenomenal job in her reviews, and she's not only consistent, but one of the most highly-viewed book blogs in the blogosphere.
The New York Public Library has released its Stuff for the Teen Age 2009 list. I just got back from my local library, where they had printouts of the lists and some of the listed books and DVDs on display. The first thing I noticed when I opened the binder was the name of a friend of mine who is a children's librarian here. Apparently she helped compile this list. They have a great selection, divided up by topics, and some short video clips of teenagers talking about the books. Here's the link:

Here's a big list of Children's/YA bloggers that I found recently (keep in mind that some of these focus on children's books but there are quite a few YA blogs listed):http://kidlitosphere.org/KidLitospher...
I just came across this website. It has a directory (perfect for trying to find books to fit into a Challenge) and you can narrow by age (perfect for moms w/ kids that aren't quite ready for ALL YA books). It also has excepts, reviews, and a directory of authors. Lots of info! Anyways, hope you find it helpful.http://www.yabookscentral.com/cfusion...
Someone mentioned www.bookcrossing.com and www.betterworldbooks.org earlier, and I went on about better world and failed to mention that book crossing has the coolest bookplates and stuff. Neat site. Also, www.librarything.com has a book recommender and an unrecommender (super fun) where you put in what you like/dislike and it gives a list of similar books to check out/avoid. It also often lists first lines, great quotes, etc. Thoroughly neato.
I as well have started a blog (with everyone else it seems :P)trying to keep it book centric, I sometimes diverge....http://strange-and-random-happenstanc...
Hey readers!!! nothing special but I too started a blog (to kill time...can't go out when it's raining 24/7...the roads are nasty). I'm new at the whole blogging thing but check it out if you likehttp://myteatimeisbooktime.blogspot.com/
I've been telling people about Better World Books lately, and right now they are running an AWESOME contest, which I talk about on my blog. For details, go here
I've honestly spent an astronomical amount of money at Better World Books, since I first heard about it, I mean if I'm going to foolishly spend money might as well spend it for a good cause (literacy).I have a book blog too!

I'm currently running a contest on my blog for Wildwood Dancing by Juliette Marillier. So if you ladies have any interest in this book, feel free to enter my contest. My blog is linked in post 42. :-D
Entered and blogged ya! I'm thinking of having my own challenge soon, but I can't decide what to give away...
I don't have a blog (yet), but I follow some great ones. My favorite YA blogs are:1. YA Highway @ http://yahighway.blogspot.com/ - full of reviews, interviews and writing/publishing advice for any aspiring YA writers out there
2. Scott Westerfeld's Blog Full of all Scott Westerfeld goodness (I can't wait to read Leviathan).
3. Justine Larbalestier's Blog She's not afraid to speak her mind (or write it as the case may be) and she always keeps you up to date with her publications.
4. Reading in Color @ http://blackteensread2.blogspot.com/ - a blog that's all about diversity in YA books. She's a smart and eloquent teen and I love reading her blog.
5. Young and Unbound @ http://youngandunbound.blogspot.com/ - A blog where children and teens get to review the books they're reading.
Yeah, I'm kind of blog happy. My rss feed is ridiculous...and why does the preview button not work, Good Reads? *rolls eyes @ bugs*
I can't believe I never came back in here and posted my giveaway once I decided. It's not YA, but I am giving away Atonement here
I'm giving away a signed edition of Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran as well as a Roman Coin, thanks to the author. Stop by to enter and leave a question for Michelle who will be stopping by later in the week.http://strange-and-random-happenstanc...
I'm giving away a paperback edition of The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory as well as some button swag to her newest book. Stop by to enter and if I get 1 more follower I'll hit 100 and there will be something extra...Open till the end of September!

You could try RisingShadow.net - it's Finnish - but Google translates the page. I've had contact with them and they seem like a friendly bunch. It's not strictly YA but plenty of fantasy and they seem to cover YA:

But you may need to go through Google to translate it.

Has anyone tried http://bittenbybooks.com/?p=12045, they are a great place for discovering paranormal authors.
