I went ahead and changed the date and moved it back to "to read" just so it wasn't in the current buddy read area

Ok I'm starting..... having a few probs remembering how the last one left off. Hope it comes back quickly!

okay, I'm in the middle of chapter 3 and Oh my....I agree. I've forgotten SO MUCH about book 1.

but I'm catching up quick, I think :)

I forgot about the lingo, like Mesh, etc.. but it came back fairly quickly. I think you're further than I am. I was gone all afternoon with my girls....

I'm just 5 chapters in, but am about to switch books, I think :)

the first 5 chapters were easy to get back into but wow, a lot has already happened.

and I forgot how much I love Raf :)

Raf rules. Kira kinda ticked me off for a bit tho so I put the book down. LOL. I'll get over it and start it up again tomorrow at work!

was it because she had used to brain bomb thing??
I wasn't sure if he'd been brainwashed to believe she was a traitor? (hide spoiler)] did you get that part??

and Ugh...Anna (view spoiler)[ really, why save Kestrel? He's a monster, I don't know that it'd be murder to kill someone who isn't human...and now he got away again... boo! I was kind of hoping for a new bad guy in the next book (Molloy & brother maybe?) but looks like it might be Kestrel again..... :( (hide spoiler)]

Julian (view spoiler)[ I can't help but think that it might be better if she was with Julian. As much as I love Raf, he was just abused through this whole process. He just isn't safe in her world - and I think this will only get worse if he's still alive and still with her.... It was interesting that Julian was so quick and easy to talk her into loving him. (hide spoiler)] scary to think if this stuff was really possible....ack!

Hmmmm, when did you want to try to schedule these? should we schedule just all three on one buddy read? or on separate buddy reads? They are short, so we could split them up and read them pretty quickly I think.....

I'm so jealous of how fast you read, lol. I'm just starting chapter 9. I'm about 35% done. I should be able to finish by tonight depending on my kids - and my ability to put my vampire smut on hold, lol.

But regardless no matter what I'll be far enough to finally answer some of your spoilers!

no worries, I'm playing catch up all week so I'm devoted a lot more time to reading (and a lot less to to unpacking :D)

I think we should do all 3 together in one BR, they are pretty short. Want to shoot for next week or later on this week? Just let me know. I have a BR on Wednesday but that's really all I have actually scheduled. A few other wants but nothing major!

I don't trust Julian yet either but I'm sure that's coming. I freaked out when her dad walked in as a guard for Vellus! WTH???

I like the side characters too.

I write more when I get a few more chapters under my belt!

Date works for me, does it really work for you? Cuz we can hold off to Sept if needed! I'll just plan on 8/27 and wait to hear from you if you need to change it. I had to give into my Vampire book cravings and finished Lover Eternal... LOL. It's still early so I'll go read some more of this one. Which is really really good!

Good thing I love Raf. Now I'm not so sure about her dad, I'm sure that will be revealed eventually. And Julian is starting to grow on me, but I still don't understand what is going on in his head...

I am on page 207, beginning of chapter 17 and they are all locked up now. She has no concept of time.

This portion of the book really reminds me of Maddie being trapped in the detention center in Middle Ground. Except I can't see a way out for Kira or the others at this point...

Wow - that scene in the cell when Julian "handles" Kira - i think there is something more to it than meets the eye...

And things just constantly go from bad to worse for everyone, don't they?

Yeah, that's kind of what I said above. Raf just seems so....like a rag doll and in complete danger when he's in her world!!!

I think he called her a Traitor because he believed SHE was the one who turned them over to Kestrel, not Malloy. Because she goes on to say it was Malloy, he betrayed us to get his brother. Or something close to that. At any rate he ends up believing her...

I completely agree with all your spoilers in post 23. I don't understand her dad's motivations, I wish Anna had let Kira shoot Malloy - but i guess we need our bad guy in #3....

I'm upset about Raf, and I am really starting to love Julian!

I agree with you about Raf's memories being stolen by Malloy - and he sure got what he deserved, didn't he??? But poor Raf, when he attacked her verbally in the Diner and he believes his parents... it's so sad. However I think we'll see him make a reappearance in #3 and factor into a (probably stupid) love triangle, lol!

I am really interested to see what we learn about him in his prequel next week!

This was a great book. I hope Kestrel gets tortured here at some point! LOL. Thanks for the BR and I'm glad you're enjoying the series too!

LOL. I hug my kindle sometimes too - lol! And yell at it - a lot! Not too much longer, just 5 measly days and then we can learn all about our 3 boys! :-)

Completely off the subject - but did you see that Abbi glines is writing a 3rd installment in the Vincent Boys books?
