Hi - my name is Amanda. I am from the same fabulous part of NJ as Megan but have lived in PA since 2000. I have an awesome husband and two amazing kids. I am a stay at home mom but I also do some work from home for a super cool social work agency. I try to read every chance I get - it's amazing where and when I fit it in while taking care of a 5 month old baby! I like to read historical fiction, biographies and history books, Christian fiction and non-fiction, young adult, fantasy, some light mysteries. I don't like to read things that are too dark, vulgar or scary. (in other words I am a huge wuss!!)
Hello, my name is Jakob. I am originally from hell spawned Syracuse, ny - but for fifteen years I've live in the beautiful state of pa. I have a lovely wife and two very cute children, if I do say so myself (and also a cute but ill behaved dog). I work as a store manager for a major pharmaceutical chain, and I do music on the side. I like sci-fi, fantasy, historical biography, political biography, and really anything that is unusual or off the beaten path...oh yeah I also like cookbooks as well.
hi all, i'm Jackie. I live in the hot state of Florida. My to-read shelf grows everyday! I am glad i found this group!
Hi everyone! My name is Kate. I live in eastern Mass, about 30 minutes from Boston. I'm not married, but I have a wonderful boyfriend and we have a not-so-wonderful "child" (my neurotic cat). My TBR list is dauntingly huge, and I have over 200 books sitting on my overflowing bookshelf at home, so I look forward to having someone else pick something for me to read every month. I'm hoping that it will force me to read more, as my pace has been slacking recently. I will read pretty much anything and everything. Can't wait to start!
Welcome Kate! It sounds like you have the same problem with an overflowing to read bookshelf as me! Hopefully our group can be a fun way to help you decide what to read next. Although sometimes my to read list gets longer when I see shelves and to read books.
hi jackie and kate :)i know the bookshelf problem quite well - we have stacks of books sitting everywhere - even with a wall of built in shelving! i'm afraid i am passing the sickness on to my son as his collection just keeps growing too.
having a killer used bookstore in my town does not help!
Hi!Mi name is Alejandra. I'm from Chile, in Southamerica.
I studied law and I'm a week away from finishing a mandatory job for the State that is requiered in my country to get the law degree. After that, I plan on travelling for a while. My first stop will be Bolivia, and then hopefully Australia.
I'm 24 years old (will be 25 in a few months) and I love to travel, meet new people, sports, movies and languages.
I used to read a lot when I was a kid and teenager, but somehow I stopped doing it when I was in College. Now, I intend to resume my life as a reader, therefore, I decided to join this book club. I'm looking forward to the experience, since "book clubs" are not common in my Country.
pd: english is not my first language, so I might make some (a lot) of mistakes. I apologize in advance.
Welcome Alejandra! We're so happy to have you in our book club. Congratulations on your degree! I was the same way when I was in college, there were always so much reading required that I never got a chance to read for pleasure. I hope you find some good books!
I'm Julia and I live in canada near toronto, and I love historical fiction and fantasy. I'm spending my summer volunteering with disabled children, and I am going to grade eleven in the fall. Oh and before discovering this site my favorite book recommendations came from my aunt.
Welcome Julia! I think you will enjoy this group, many other members share your tastes. Feel free to share your aunt's recommendations with the group!
Hey everyone ! Hassam here. There isn't much to me. See you all around GR. Thanks for letting me join.
English isn't my first language so sorry for any mistakes grammatical or punctuations.

I am a pet groomer and consultant bat biologist.
My favorite genres are historical fiction, young adult, cookbooks, and nature/science, but I like to read many different books.
