I've cheated a little bit. I picked it up from the library on Friday and on the weekend intended to just have a little nosey but kept reading!

So sign me up for this one.

I finished this book last night with parts still roaming in my head all day today. I connected right away being born at the same time and living my early childhood in same street in Naenae, but I am thankful (and sometimes feel guilt)that is the only similarity in our lives.

A well written, no holds barred, down to earth dialogue of her life detailing traumatic and emotional experiences, but without the bitter recriminations that could have been voiced.

Lynette Robinson deserves accolades for risking vilification in telling both stories.
