I'm in :D

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

I have started an ARCHIVES folder however the threads within are still open. I will keep the threads open for a time to allow for late comments.

Don't let ARCHIVES mislead you to believe it translates to closed, not the case.

I'm a Felix, just trying to keep group home page tidy :D and organized < yeah I know sometimes it sucks being me.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

BIG thank you for being such awesome members!!!

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

For those planning on participating in the Paint it Black discussion, now would be a great time to post your comments/thoughts on the book so Janet isn't overwhelmed with posts at one time. I'm sure she would appreciate the consideration. I thank you all in advance for your participation and consideration. Give Janet a warm The F-word group welcome.

MONTHLY GROUP READ

If you are interested in leading the monthly read discussion, please let me know. :D Thank you!

message 15: by [deleted user] (last edited Sep 23, 2013 04:11AM) (new)

ATTENTION

For those who may not be following this topic, on Friday, GR tightened its non-harassment policies and began deleting reviews and shelves that were deemed to be related to author behavior rather than the content of their books. A merde-storm of messages have been flying all weekend over in the GR Feedback group. Let me know if further discussion on this matter is needed.

Heather Fineisen Disappointing. That was a nice and unique feature and appreciate the work you put into it, Mal. As well as the time commitment of each author.

BIG BIG thank YOU Heather for your ongoing support and participation. Thank you very much. I know how busy life is but you always pull thru, means a lot and the authors really appreciate it too. :D xox

message 26: by Alison (new)

Alison | 8 comments Is The Yellow Wallpaper cancelled then? I see it listed here for November so I requested it from the library but now Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman's Guide to Why Feminism Matters has a thread under discussions for November instead. I just want to make sure I'm prepared :)

THE ANNOUNCEMENT SECTION IS FOR MODERATORS USE ONLY. THANK YOU.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Effective 12/13 ZERO SELF PROMOTING! Postings will be deleted. Plenty of other groups specifically geared towards self promotion. Thank you.

message 32: by Taylor (last edited Nov 01, 2013 11:05AM) (new)

Taylor (seffietay) Hello all! As you may have noticed, the amazingly awesome Mal has handed over the moderation of this group to me, so I thought I would introduce myself! My name is Stephanie and I am currently the mod for both FABClub (Female Authors Book Club) and the recently created Feminist Science Fiction Fans group. As you may have guessed from the names of those groups, I love reading books by women, about women, and with a feminist message. I am really excited to move forward with this group!

In case you're worried, I won't be changing anything that Mal has created here at the F-Word. All our selections up to January will remain the same, and I am looking forward to the discussions. I like that we have been reading feminist classics along with non-ficiton and biographies, and I think we will continue on in this vein.

If anyone has any questions or comments please feel free to message me, I would love to post a poll in the next few days to see what selections you lovely members are interested in reading as we enter the holiday season, where we will all be lounging poolside with a book in one hand a cocktail in the other, right?
