Hi - I'm Tamsen and am both a reader and writer. I have two books out (The Puppeteer and A Tainted Mind) and a third on the way but I also read enough that I'm glad the kindle bill goes to my husband!
Welcome! Thanks for chiming in. Be sure to peruse the threads and see if there's anything you want to add or chat about.
(I'm trying, but I can't talk for everyone.) :-D

It means something bad IS going to happen. The reader knows it, and maybe even knows what the bad thing is, but the MCs don't. So the reader is saying 'don't go down stairs! The killer is there!' but the mc goes anyway.
In your book the reader knows Luke and the boss have plans for Claudia, but she takes the job anyway! (I'd say more, but I don't want to add spoilers. )

Hi, my name is Katie McKnight. I am a writer and recently published a suspenseful-romance novel entitled Secrets Revealed. I look forward to interacting with writers and readers. :}
I took a peek at your book from my phone, Katie. I'll check it out in further detail when I get back to my laptop.
Hi, I'm H.D. I am a new author of two suspense novellas. I started writing because I felt, after reading so many suspense novels, I thought I should give it a try so I started the Fatal Series: Fatal Reunion and Fatal Betrayal.
Thanks! Just this year I started getting into the paranormal romance genre. I avoided Twilight--I like the lighter side of things. There are a lot of great new authors. Any suggestions?
I Like paranormal that is more ghosty than shape shifting and I do like Heather Graham for those :) Or The Arcane Society (though more psychic-oriented). And always looking for others, too so if you have any names to throw out, please do. I really do love good ghost stories!
Welcome, HD!
VL, a member here in this group, writes light paranormal romances. You may want to check her out.
When I get a chance I will peek at your fatal series.

Hi. I'm Charlene. I write suspense novels. My first published title is "Shattered Memories". I've completed the sequel and written three others not in publication yet. "Shattered Memories" was inspired by a dream which during the writing process revealed it also stemmed from a fracture of my own deep seeded memory that came out. Don't get me wrong, it's NOT based on actual events but some chapter segments ring truer than others. In my novel, young Aleighnah Davenport is presumed dead after a horrific car crash that kills almost everyone involved. With no sign of Aleighnah, her mother begins a search with her deceased husband's business partner only to uncover a rash number of missing teens over a twenty year span. Aleighnah, with no memory, is trapped in a life of cruelity by her abductor, who's only after one thing... An heir to his family name. Once Aleighnah escapes with the help of the only friend she's got, must now not only find a way to reconnect with the life she once knew, but face her abductor once and for all.
I'm Martyn V. Halm, an avid reader of suspense novels and author of the Amsterdam Assassin Series. I enjoy suspense with ambiguous protagonists, like The Killer Inside Me.
My own series revolves around Katla Sieltjes, a freelance assassin and corporate troubleshooter. I published Reprobate: A Katla Novel and Peccadillo: A Katla Novel and three short stories. The third novel, Rogue, will be published around November 15th. I'm currently working on the fourth novel, Ghosting.
Welcome to the group, Martyn!
I checked out your books and have added the first one to my TBR list.
I'm impressed with the blurb. It sounds like something I will have to dedicate some serious attention to reading, so as not to miss anything.

Hello. My name is Michael Stephenson and I am a Goodreads author. I love reading and writing in all genres, especially horror and love putting suspenseful scenes into all of my works.
Welcome to the group, Michael. Be sure to check out the other threads and see if anything grabs your attention. I know that member Calvin Dean writes a kind of paranormal horror. You two may find something to talk about.
If you or any other member of the group needs to add a new thread for your particular niche, feel free to post it in the appropriate folder, or ask me to do it. I'm happy to oblige.

Hi, everyone. I'm Danielle and I read suspense and thrillers. I'm nearly finished with my first novel of suspense. I'm hoping to release it in January. The protagonist is a female detective and it's about a series of murders with a sinister connection to Child Protective Services.

We don't seem to be a gregarious bunch, but we have our moments. Membership is slowly climbing, so I keep hoping more folks will have good stuff to say.

Hi guys! My name is Laura Oliva. I write on the darker side of romantic suspense. I have 3 books published so far:

Hi, I'm exploring what this group has to offer. Two things I note as I begin: 1) I really like Tamsen's writing; 2) I see there's an author named Charlene -- there aren't that many of us with this name, so I will look up your work.Oh, a third thing: I place myself on the Romantic Suspense end of your group's spectrum, and I love to read/proofread/review should the authors among you in my favorite genre find yourself in need of a reader!

Welcome, Charlene! I also write romantic suspense, heavy on the suspense. I look forward to interactions with you. We are always looking for new topics to engage in. As soon as I'm on my laptop I'll check out your titles.
Just so there's no confusion, the only book I've written was a revision of my Ph. D. thesis in New Testament studies. I was commenting to the Charlene who's an author in this group's genre. I'm a reader of romantic suspense only and never have any ambition to write. I do like to proofread, however, if anyone wants a grammar geek or just a fan to read over your work!

I did get confused. Sorry about that. I was on my tablet, and kinda glossed over the fact that I was reading two posts instead of one.
Thanks for the clarification! I may hit you up as a beta reader if I ever get my next book out. Unfortunately I have been doing too much of everything except writing, what with tax time right around the corner and life refusing to settle into some kind of a rhythm....
