personally, I'd say twilight. its not till the extent of worst, but I'd say its below average of all the books I've read...
I would have to agree with Joo ontwilight! Read it when I was 15 and only to realize two years later how everything about it is so stupid. oh wells, the mistake I made in my teen years. anyways, another worst book I've read was the slap by christos tsiolkas. I totally regretted buying it. I had the worst reading with that one.
To Fini...Oh gosh! How could I start reading Twilight? And what about The Host? Been wondering whether to buy or not to buy. Same goes to The Slap. Been wondering few times but when I check the rating and those comments on Goodreads about this book, I think I should not buy it.
I guess you could give it a try. you might like it. I did enjoy it (loved it even) when I was 15 though. haha. it's just that as I mature and read more literatures and novels I found that there's not so much substance in twilight.
I have to agree that Twilight was awful -- I read the whole series (once I start a series, I can never stop no matter how bad it is)... by the end of it, I wanted to just kill that whiny girl! But that's actually the second worst. The worst, for me, is Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I like books with strong women and a sense of equality -- unfortunately, Jordan prefers his women in the kitchen and his protagonist is so powerful that he needs to be shared amongst the book's main female characters. Whateverlah...
As for last year, I think one of the worst series that I've ever read was The Maze Runner series. Anyone else find this series to be less than satisfying? If you're a fan, why do you think you enjoyed the series?

Meh. :) I say don't sweat it if someone else doesn't like a "bad book" that you are planning to read. You should read widely and decide what's good or bad on your own. With something as ragingly popular as Twilight or 50 Shades, it should be easy enough to borrow it rather than buy it. I've read Twilight (all three) and can see the appeal. I've read 50 Shades and found that reviews were right... it's just Twilight with kinky sex, so I didn't bother reading the other two books.
Worst book I read in 2014 was Lullabies by Lang Leav. People probably don't agree, but that's okay. Poetry is highly subjective. I found it disappointing because I loved Love & Misadventure and it was probably hard to live up to that.
