The last time I read this I was pregnant with my son and having a sleepless night. That was 21 years ago. Guess it's time to bring this one back to the forefront, too.

I never read the book (actually, I didn't even know there was a book - how sad), but I watched the movie daily when I was a little girl (2nd grade or thereabouts?). I loved it so much and haven't thought about it for ages.
The Shirley Temple one? I think I read an abridged version of this at some point. I liked the story well enough, but I had a Heidi picture book and the movie that originally sparked my interest.
No, I don't think I did read anything else. I have seen several movie versions, though. I also got to go to Switzerland in 2007. Heidi is practically an icon there. I even had my photo taken up on the Matterhorn with a St. Bernard named Heidi...lol
Thinking of a St. Bernard named Heidi makes me smile. We had a gigantic St. Bernard on my block named Bono. Was Heidi also huge?
I loved the Shirley Temple movie, but the book was never one of my favorites. It was a little sappy for me. *ducks*
