I agree with everything you said except for the Franziska part. I think she was just really traumatized about everything that was happening. I hated the part when they took Eva away from her house in Germany. I feel so bad for the mother.
I know. I mean, I was glad that she got to go home, but I was sad for Mutter and Elsbeth. And while I agree that she probably was traumatized, she seemed to be mean before they were taken away, in addition to after being taken away.
She said that Hanna could never be an actress because she wasn't pretty enough and had reading problems. The teachers didn't like her because she was too critical. She never even tried to make friends with anybody. Just saying, she seems a bit mean to me.
