I'm impressed with all the 'U' books I've seen on these lists already!I have 2 (I think) and may have to go back to the 'Undead' books...

This is a lovely story with vivid, diverse, quirky characters ... I love books where the humor is intrinsic to the personalities involved in the book ... this isn't your typical romance book ... it's quite wordy & dense ... you need to be able to immerse yourself for a couple of hours so that the subtlety of their insanity can transport you ... I've frightened my share of religious door-knockers but I've never gone to the lengths read about in this story ... this is a lovely character-driven romp.

I really don't know why I do this to myself...I've read Carol Lynne before and I'm always disappointed with her books...she takes a really good premise with interesting characters and delivers the reader a shallow, two-dimensional version of what could be a great book with more words and effort...they aren't my thing at all...so, because it was my fault for buying this drivel, I've tried to award stars based on the quality of the book. This book is okay. It is formulaic, unrealistic, too-saccharine, fluff...if that's what you're looking for, then go for it...if you like the premise but want a story with slightly more meat on it's bones, try the Men of Holsum College series by Daisy Harris

This short read like a story outline rather than an actual story ... it was a dry, dispassionate account of how the narrator met the love of his life ... an interesting (in an academic way) study in writing styles but not particularly well suited to the subject matter being recounted ... what could have been a sweet little story was stripped down to it's bare, unadorned bones leaving the reader on the outside, excluded from the sweetness that their love was creating.

This was a nice little gay-for-you/out-for-you ... I do find angst that is completely centered around mis-communication annoying though so I held back one star ... the characters were very likable in this one ... there was a bit of insta-love but given the 'virginal' Aaron, it was easy to see him falling head-over-tea kettle for the older, more experienced Yoshiki ... a nice un-demanding, sweet read.
