The Last Of Us discussion

Tess lead Midnight through the snow.

Tess looked at the sky, the wind was coming fast.

Jesse trudged through the snow, Wyatt in his jacket, whimpering. He hushed Wyatt and found a cave. He lit a fire and let Wyatt run around in the warmth. Jesse sighed.

Midnight tossed her head and started to trot. "Wait up girl." Tess called and jumped on her back.

Jesse got comfortable and laid down. Wyatt curled up in his lap. He strokes his fur and says "Sleep well, bud." He keeps one hand on his rifle.

Midnight started to gallop, running through the storm.

Wyatt suddenly leaped up. He barked and yapped into the Storm. He heard the distant shuffle of snow.

Midnight neighed, moving closer to the cave. "Midnight, sha, sha." Tess whispered.

Jesse shouldered his rifle, ready to fire. He was scopes in on a figure.

Midnight entered the cave. Tess saw someone already there. "Shit! I'm sorry, we'll go." She went to turn Midnight around.

Wyatt ran up to her and sniffed. He plopped down in the snow, waiting for her to pet him. Jesse lowered his rifle and sat back down. "Stay." He said in a very deep, surprisingly sexy voice.

Tess was suprised, but swung down from the saddle. "Thanks."

He didn't say anything but whistled through his teeth and Wyatt plowed through the snow to him. He smiled and stood up. "Jesse. This is Wyatt."

"Hi, I'm Tess and this is Midnight." She smiled.

His face slowly steeled again and he sat down. Wyatt waddled over to the girl expectantly.

Tess bent down to pat the pup. "Hey."

He yapped in response, his tail wagging. Jesse threw her his water. "Here. Fresh."

Tess had to laugh. "I'm sorry,I haven't eaten in a while."

He threw her a package of beef ramen. "There." He stood up and went over to midnight. He patted her nose and stoked her.

Midnight tossed her head. "She likes you." Tess said as she ate some of the food he gave her.

Jesse sat down again and closed his eyes.

Midnight walked over to Tess. Tess grabbed her reins.

Jesse sighed deeply. "How old are you?" he said smoothly.

"I'm sixteen, how old are you?" Tess asked.

He used his fingers to show 18. He walked over and stood next to her. "Do you mind?"

"No." Tess said. Moving aside.

He slid down the wall next to her, their shoulders touching. "Are you OK?"

"Yeah? Why?" Tess asked. Did h know about her dad?

"You seem sad." He said, taking out his knife and his carving.

"Oh, well I just came from St. Louis." Tess said, watching the knife.

"I was in Philadelphia. My real name is Ratonhnhaké:ton. I am a Mohawk." He said, carving the wood into and eagle.

"Hm, what brings you to Colorado?" Tess asked, pulling her backpack off.

"I must find my mother." He said simply putting up his knife. He took out his Tomahawk and sharpened it. "Do not be frightened. I won't hurt you."

"My mum died." Tess said without thinking.

He frowned and put a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry, Tess." He said in his deep, Mohawk accent.

"Erh, I really don't miss her, Midnight makes up for that, right now, I'm pissed 'cause my ex tried to kill Midnight.

"Ex?" he asked confused.

"Yeah ex. He cheated on me, I wanted to leave, he tried to stop me, Midnight broke his shoulder, he threatened to kill her to stop me, I shot him in his broken shoulder, he shot Midnight, I left." Tess said, rubbing her hand on Midnight's neck, seeing as she'd laid down a while ago.

"Oh. I see..." He said, his eyebrows furrowed. He laid out his weapons and What climbed into his lap. He whined and looked over at Midnight, gently nipping her legs and playing.

He yapped at her, nipping her legs. Jesse sighed and closed his eyes.

Tess yawned.

Jesse smiled at her yawn. It was adorable.

Tess blinked. "I think I need to sleep..." She yawned again.

He grinned. He sat up and said "Do that. Ill keep watch until i leave."

Tess smiled and leaned onto Midnight's back. "Night."
