How about sub-groups that are divided by genre (i.e. mystery book-a-holics, romance book-a-holics, etc). Just a thought.
Book-A-Holics by State (i.e., WA, PA, etc). That way we can still follow and contribute to dicsussions in the other areas of Book-A-Holics, but can meet people in our own state and possibly our own immediate area (Book-A-Holics Gone Wild) :-)
How about if you post a message in the general discussion board so that everyone knows that it's at the bottom ??
How about a "Meet the Authors" discussion section and you can invite diffrent authors in, or they can request to be added to the discussion.
My suggestion is to flip the order of people's posts so that the most recently posted are the first things we see. If we want to go back to 2007 we can still do that, but for people who have been reading them all along it's a bit tedious to have the old posts be the first things we see. It's a great discussion group and I think this would make it better.
okay...i'm going out on a limb here, but how would that affect the flow? I mean, if I'm responding to a post, my post would appear before the originating post. Sometimes if you get a great thread going, numerous people will respond and then you would have to go back to find out what the question or statement was to start with, if we reverse the order. Just my two cents. I'll go back to my corner in the round room now...

We will have to see what happens this is a trial run. Hopefully all will go well.

At the top of every line there is an option for newest when you go in a room and that sends you to the first page of unread subjects.
But Goodreads does not give me access to flip the room.

I like the option of newest better than the one I suggested. It keeps threads in order, but allows a person to skip quickly past several years of posts. I'm happy.

I love hearing from you too, Catherine! Happy messaging :-)
Catherine, you - as a member of goodreads - can set the posts to appear by newest date, or oldest date first. At the top of the threads, above the first post, above the date it was posted, you will see a gold colored link that says "date".
Click it.
It will reverse the date order for you.
I accidently did this to myself once and nearly freaked out as I thought it was an upgrade GR's made. Hee hee....
