I have recently started this book, and I am 25% of the way through it (thank you, Kindle Paperwhite!). So far, it seems like a truly astounding book. I think that Dickens does a great job creating a good mix of grotesque characters, but gives them just enough room to breathe. I think that this book might belong up there with Bleak House and Great Expectations. Does anyone else agree?

Chuzzlewit and DOMBEY AND SON are 2 of Dickens' best, but they've never been all that popular. By the way, Tiberius, wait until you get to the anti-American part of the book; it's fascinating.

People obsessed with money, but don't enjoy it. No interesting conversations, people obsessed with making money from real estate speculations. Good stuff.
