Gabriella (gmargarita) I absolutely adore fantasy novels, and am looking for some new ones to add to my to-read list. I'm looking for books that aren't set on modern earth, none of the YA vampire type books that have been all the rage lately. I'm actually moving away from the majority of YA, to be honest. What I really like is the medieval type fantasy, with dragons and knights and magic and whatnot. For example I really like A Game of Thrones, Eragon, Tolkien, stuff like that. Any suggestions?

David Bell (davidefcbell) | 5 comments Hi- I've just stumbled on this which you might like:

and I'd also, rather selfishly, suggest my own book, which is not only medieval fantastical but it has a large flatulent wolfhound!

but in my book, he lives.

Have you tried the Legends of King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table?

Gabriella (gmargarita) I've heard of it, never read it though. Is it for all ages? Because I've heard before that it's more of a children's book. I could be wrong though.

David Bell (davidefcbell) | 5 comments It's not the Kids version if you get the original Mallory Mort d'Arthur. Tudor, I think, so prepare yourself for some genuine archaic language...

Anne | 1 comments One of my personal favorite fantasy series is Magic of Recluse by L.E. Modesitt. Best part is there are 14? Books in the series and he is still adding more books to it!!! Dragonlance is another favorite. Don't expect it to be The Hobbit, but it is a good, easy, entertaining set of books if you like elves, dragons, gnomes... Another it Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.
