I love fantasy books, for example The Lumatere Chronicles, anything along those lines. What other good book like that are good to read?

I would recommend Graceling, Fire, and Bitter by Kristin Cashore. I loved the Lumatere Chronicles, and these were the only ones that really compare. I also suggest Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor, A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman (one of my personal favourites) and The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater.

And if you haven't already, I really recommend the rest of Melina Marchetta's novels. They aren't fantasy, but they are amazing nonetheless.

I would also recommend The Thief series by Magan Whalan Turner.

I second all the books Georgia said. I'd also suggest the 7 realms series by Cinda Williams Chima, the first book is The Demon King. Also the Immortals series by Tamora Pierce. I read them when I was younger but I still love them.

Defintely Seconding (and thirding) the votes for The Theif, Graceling and the Demon King. They're my other three FAVOURITE series besides this one.

Another I would suggest is The Crown of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson. I loved the first one but not as much as the others I mentioned, but my god the second is fabulous and the third just came out, I hope it's as good.

Also Wildwood Dancing and its sequel Cybel's Secret by Juliet Marillier. The first is based on a Fairy Tale but they're both excellent fantasies. I would say not quite as skillful as some others mentioned, but lovely stories :)

I would also recommend Throne Of Glass by Sarah J Maas (the first of the series, and only the second book -of five I think- is out, but if you can stand the wait they're totally worth it), besides all those mentioned above.

Cinda William's Heir series is good as well. Have anyone read Cassandra Clare's 'The Infernal Devises' or the The Immortal Instruments'? All great reads.

Aside from the Seven Kingdoms trilogy (Graceling, Fire, Bitterblue) you should also try The Ascendance Trilogy (The False Prince, The Runaway King, The Shadow King) :)

This is thread is a year old, but I love the recommendations here. I've read most of them except the Ascendance Trilogy. I actually just finished the Lumatere series and I'm bereft of the loss of not reading the story anymore which is basically book hangover.

I do have one other recommendation. The Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. It was marketed as Fantasy for years, but just recently I saw the first book (Mistborn) in the YA Fantasy section at B&N. This has a really strong FMC and the writing is just phenonmenal.
