This is the latest in a long line of books about where everything we love comes from. I've been listening to Jedi Journals (part of the ForceCast network,) and they can't seem to praise this book enough. Let's just say I was really glad when a bunch of people here suggested it. So what are you waiting for? Let's get every copy that our libraries have!

Happy reading!

Alli (akwinot) I just managed to get a copy of this a few days ago! Like legitimately two days. I don't know if I'll be able to read any this month but I'll try really, really hard! :D

I'm excited.

Do, or do not. There is no try.

Jason Sullivan | 6 comments I just finished this book a few days ago and I have to say I found most of it to be fairly boring. I thought there would a lot more on the origins of the Jedi and the trials and errors of learning to use the force, almost like a history lesson of the Jedi. But it wasn't. A reader might not be able to tell which era this book takes place in if it weren't for the fact that they didn't use light sabers, this book could've taken place anywhere along the Star Wars timeline. A few times I had to force myself to pick it up and continue reading, and if it weren't for the fact that it's a fairly short book then I might have put it down all together. I found this book to be disappointing and very forgettable.

Alli (akwinot) I'm going to read the graphic novel first volume first and then I'll read Into the Void. Well... along with Young Jedi Knights, Heir to the Empire... etc. xD

No, no. Quote Jedi masters, Grand Moffs do not. Stick to your Imperial ways, you will. :)

For the record, I will start the book after I unpack it sometime next week.

Daniel Hernandez Forero Just bought my copy from the Amazon Kindle Store and will start it ASAP. Will put the book I'm reading right now on halt while I finish this one :)

Brianna | 20 comments I've got my copy downloaded as well, so we'll see how this goes.

Katherine (throwthebones) | 1 comments I agree with Jason on pretty much all accounts. I read this last month, and even though I enjoyed certain aspects of it, I found it to be mostly pretty dull. The writing was hit-or-miss and sometimes was just downright lazy. I was really hoping for more history and setup for the Jedi, but regardless I hope they continue on with the series because it does have the potential to be interesting. The short story at the end was probably my favorite bit.

Haydensdad | 7 comments This was the first Star Wars book I read. Not an amazing book but if you have no preconceived ideas as to what you are about to read I think that helps. I enjoyed the fact that the Jedi order was not the modern order that I knew from my limited exposure via the movies. I credit the author because he could have cliched the hell out of the book.

Skektek | 7 comments Also just finished the book (borrowed it from a local library)- yeah, it's a frustrating read. The author seems to jet away from every town/planet just when I think I've got a grasp of the area. A lot of "okay, we're here and it's never explained WHY we're here, but hey, let's throw in some action and go somewhere else." I actually enjoyed the comic in the middle of the book too.

The most frustrating thing is that I found myself really rooting for the brother (Dal). And after all the work the author does in establishing the differing perspectives of the brother and sister, it kind of ends with a thunk- won't spoil it but I thought out loud "wait, is that it?"

Brianna | 20 comments I seem to be having the same difficulty as some others. This book is not holding my attention, which results in my making very little headway. I'm hoping that once I finish a couple of these others I will be able to focus on it with more success.
