Zombies! discussion

As we start getting on our way with our August book reads, its time to start taking nominations for September. We are going to do things a bit differently this month. Last month we had 25 nominations and only about 27 votes. That was a lot of 0/1 vote books. This time, we are going to limit nominations to 10 books. There are 4 books nominated from last month that didn't make the poll that will be included this month. That leaves 6 slots. Nominations will be taken through Aug 15 or once we reach 10 books, whichever comes first. The poll will then have voting through the 25th. Voting will end before the end of the month to give participates time to get copies before the book reads start Sep 1.

I Nominate it's a goodreads author. Was recently free on Amazon (July 29, 2013) so a fair number of us are likely to have it on our kindles.

Is it ok for authors to self nominate? Cause if it is....

Self nominations are okay. However, the Read for Review might be more effective for authors.

Tankbread again

Well, since others are self-nominating, I may as well join in the fun. I'm going to nominate my own black comedy Apocalypse Cow. Zombie cows (well, more like rage-virus cows), winner of the Terry Pratchett First Novel Prize, good reviews in Fangoria, Rue Morgue, Booklist, Publishers Weekly, Library Journal blah blah blah.
