Wolfman was tough for me too! Sorry, all, I wasn't sure that the answers would show up-hope some of you didn't look and still had fun doing it!
Marilyn S.I just read the greatest book, so before the summer is over, try to get get a hold of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Although it's over 500 pages, I finished it in five days, and I am a very slow reader!! It was just so different and unique in many ways. I won't say any more, as I'm afraid I might give something away and spoil it!
I also highly recommend The Book Thief. And for those of you who enjoy nonfiction, I have just finished Blue Latitudes, Boldly Going Where Captain Cook Has Gone Before. The writer is Tony Horwitz who follows, as closely as possible, Cook's 3 voyages over a period of 11 years. I came away absolutely in awe of this genius.
The Book Thief has been one of my favorite books of all time since I read it the first time. I rarely read a book more than once but this is one of the few books I read twice! Glad you liked it.Marilyn E.
I love the Book Thief. It is classified as YA in many libraries and indeed has a wonderful message that would appeal to a wide age range.
The characters were so sympathetic and the message of humanity and survival was so compelling. I started reading it on a Nook and when the story switched to being visual, i.e. the pictures that Max draws - I thought the reader was malfunctioning! I switched to the paper version and it became much clearer what was going on.
Props to Rosanne! You aced the whole list.

I started The Book Thief this week, and am loving it. Thanks for the recommendation! Am putting Blue Latitudes on my list as well, though I may have to read an Elmore Leonard book in between! i have never read his books, though i loved the Get Shorty movie. Any recs for a first book?
In an unrelated comment, we've put together all the wonderful recommendations from the Summer Reading program and I've posted them under the topic Summer Reading Recommendations. That should keep us busy for awhile!
Marilyn S.Thanks for the list of recommendated books from our summer emails. I'm so happy about all the positive comments on my recommendation "The Book Thief". This on line book club was a greaat idea for the summer, and I do hope we do it again next year.
I just got the Book Thief and will start if after I finish my friend David Rosenfelt's 11th book in his Andy Carpenter Series. To much fun to put down now.In case you are not familiar, Andy is a Patterson attorney, dog lover (David and his wife in real life has rescued and placed over 3000 dogs-mostly Goldens) and is had a bad habit of sticking his nose into things that put him on someone's hit list. Fortunately his friend/body guard Marcus Clark-who he describes as able to kick Shamu's butt, show's up in the knick of time. His live-in soon to be wife manages to keep the judges from putting him in jail for contempt of court comments or his tongue sticking out childish antics(among others). Love his books!
Everything I Ever Needed to Know I learned in Kindergarten is a MUST read, IMHO. I just loved it. The first one was great, the new and revised is just as good, if not better. If you never read the first one, do so. It will make you laugh, cry, smile and reflect. The audio is fabulous, the author is a great reader and his voice is perfect. Thank you everyone for making New Providence's GoodReads so wonderful. I have a book list for at least 2-3 years!!
