Alrighty, boys and girls. Since September is right around the corner. I figured it would be time to set up and open up the Styxx discussion thread. Remember as this is the official thread. Any and everyone can post here. Keep it respectful, tactful, and watch out for the spoilers. So feel free to chat it up here.

what were your first thoughts about styxx?

That he was a prissy, stuck up, coddled rich boy. That got away with everything. And I could not stand him.

he deserved what he got on Acheron

I hated him through out Acheron and thought that he was a spoiled little rich boy. I basically wanted him dead. But, we only have one side of the story. I am sure with Styxx I will fall in love with him and really feel for him. I already do a little bit. With all the little sneak peaks they have been posting.

I still hope he wasn't the one that said that quote that Jennifer posted recently. Something about "Just because you had a bad time or day, doesn't mean that mine was good." Although he could have. But still if I was Ash I would have so wanted to stump another hole in his ass for that one. I mean are you kidding me? Ash was getting tons of shit thrown at him. I can guess that Styxx might have gotten some of his own torment but still I doubt his father nearly castrated him or had a ring shoved down his throat.

how could styxx be.jealous of Ash's relationship with their father?

Unless something like that was mentioned in a CON book, I haven't heard about Styxx being imprisoned and cursed to live Ash's pain over and over by Artie. Although I haven't read the excerpts so as not to spoil things for myself. So could be in those too.

But last I have known was that do to them having a weird magical bond together in the womb. So whatever Ash experienced Styxx did. I do know that the memory goddess kept sending him all of Ash's painful memories when they were growing up. In the ending of Talon's book.

In what part? I so don't recall that at all. As the majority of the time he was with Dionysus and that Celtic God getting back at Ash and Talon. But I don't even recall in what part he was cursed and tortured by her.

Yea, I recall towards the end with the memory goddess touching him and making him remember all of Ash's experiences. Are you saying that Artie put her up to it? Gah, I have to look and see as it's been so long since I've read that.

I already get my book and it's really breathtaking, styxx really going to breaking your heart.

When I first read this book, wow I thought I can not read this and sympathize and love him, F him but towards the end I Was like WOW yea ok my emotional feelings were fucked and I kinda sorta loved him just like every other one.. SAD I know lol

And I agree about Ryssa

The one thing I want to know why Xerxes didn't marry Ryssa off. He and Styxx discussed what value Ryssa had, however it seems Xeerxes never used it for an alliance. I have to wonder if she was that much of a harridan because by the time Apollo came into the picture she was pretty old not be married by ancient standards.

I haven't gotten that far but I think she was always meant to be a virgin "sacrifice/mistress" to the gods.

I'm about 70% done and all I can say is wow. There are some really good moments in this book. I see Ash and Ryssa in a new light that I'm not liking much.

No one thought it odd that he was gone for 6 weeks. His father didn't fetch him. I don't care how kind Ryssa was to Ash, she treated Styxx unfair all because he was "more" favored. I bet if he had the silver eyes too, she'd love him. She doesn't love Ash for the sake of love. She loves him out of pity. Ok rant over. (hide spoiler)]

Did you want us to share spoilers about Artemis with you!?

I just finished Styxx. Cried more during this book then I have in years. There sure are some BIG revelations that will have long lasting consequences. The end also sets up the next book. I really wanted to slap the sh!t outta Ash more then once. I was cheering Urian slapped him down. Things are never what they seem.
