Rachmi | 4882 comments Kobo have it, Tash. Here's the link http://www.kobobooks.com/ebook/The-Bo...

Tash (najazi) Hmm...apparently it's not available for my country. Might just have to pass on reading this for now.

Tracy (tracesoftracy) | 3 comments I'm joining (: Just got my book today! I'm going to be reading slow though like three chapters a day since i'm reading like four other books for other buddy reads (:

Rachmi | 4882 comments Glad you join us, Tracy. I'll read it a day earlier, today, it's already August 25th in my country. I have 2 buddy reads tomorrow and kind of overwhelm since I never have more than one book to buddy read for the same time.

message 10: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati Rachmi, I was thinking of starting today, too!

Rachmi | 4882 comments Have you started it, Tatiana?

I'm on 30% of the story and kind of hard to connect with the characters.

message 12: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati Not yet, will start it on my walk to the library.

message 13: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati Who on earth names their daughter Mariposa? (That's Spanish for moth...)

Rachmi | 4882 comments Speaking of Spanish words in this book, it's quite distracted me whenever I read it without its translated. I'm not familiar with Spanish, like at all so all the while I keep wondering what does it mean.

message 15: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati Rachmi, feel free to post them here, and I'll give you a translation!

Rachmi | 4882 comments Thanks, Tatiana. I'll post it when I read another Spanish words later. I didn't mark those words before because I'm too lazy to put it on google translation. So I just read and ignore it :)

Oh, I do have one question now, what does double exclamation point mean? in some words there are two exclamation point, before and after the word. I think only Spanish that have this kind of mark, right?

message 17: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati Yes, and with question marks, the same thing happens.

I have been told it is to make the emphasis on that word clearer. For instance, if you were reading that sentence out loud, you would know how to emphasize that word.

Rachmi | 4882 comments Okay, it makes sense to me. Here's another question, just read Vamos, I think I can guess it but curious of what does it mean actually?

I'm on 40% now and it starting more interesting than before. Kind of annoyed with Mari but I can see why she acts like that.

message 19: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati By itself, it means let's go.

Rachmi | 4882 comments Yes, my guess was right :D

What do you think of the story so far?

message 21: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati I'm at the very beginning, they have just hired Emilio, and I feel very sorry for her dad...

Rachmi | 4882 comments Me too but I always like reading story with mental issues. It's like my sweet torture, I know it will be a sad story but can't help to not read it :)

Rachmi | 4882 comments 60%, chapter 19 is my fave so far.

message 24: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati I've just read the (view spoiler), really heartbreaking...

Rachmi | 4882 comments yes, it really is heartbreaking. I'm glad Emilio was there. I mean he doesn't know them but willing to help Jude with a good idea to the situation.

This book kind of reminds me of Korean movie about the same disease. It's so sad and frigthening at the same time.

Mei (meijey) | 3810 comments Just started! What does 'mi querida' mean?

message 27: by Mei (new) - added it

Mei (meijey) | 3810 comments Sorry, Spanish classes are not really required in our curriculum so I have no idea!

message 28: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati It means 'my dear'

Rachmi | 4882 comments Finished it. I love it but couldn't decide how many stars will I give it. This is surely a nice first impression to Sarah Ockler books.

Tatiana, what does Te Quiero mean?

message 30: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati 'te quiero'= "I love you'

Rachmi | 4882 comments Oh, I thought it's something like Ti Amo?

message 32: by Tati (new) - rated it 3 stars

Tati The thing is, both mean the same (te quiero and te amo), but they are used in different situations.

Te quiero can be used for any type of love (family, friends, spouses). But te amo is more used between lovers.

Rachmi | 4882 comments All this time I only thought & hear about te amo. So when I read te quiero, though my guess was right, never heard of it. I love learning different language, by the way :) Thanks Tatiana.

Mei (meijey) | 3810 comments I'll be marking this book as on hold. I'm getting bored with it and I feel like there's no plot. Every time I attempt to read I end up falling asleep. I struggle to understand the Spanish words here, as with motorcycle related talks. Lol! I'll probably continue when I have time...

Rachmi | 4882 comments Those Spanish words distracted me too but I love it. It's more than young adult romance story. Hope you have time and mood to go back to read it :)
