Join me and Vicki as we read Confessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson.

Here is the synopsis ~

Sooo, are we supposed to read a chapter a day or just whatever we feel like?

We can read 5 chapters then come back to write our thoughts and feelings over it, then continue reading.

well, I just checked and it has something like 87 chapters

how about we come back every 10 chapters...that about every 50 pages

we could make it more like 20 chapters if we find little to talk about but I think every 10 chapters will give us time to form theories and talk about the book.

Does that work for everyone?

Have any of you guys read any of the Women's Murder Club Box Set, Volume 1 series?

I've read quite a few and loved them. I guess it's the other series these two others have collaborated on (but it's an adult series, not YA)

I'm pretty excited for this one tomorrow!!

Tandy (Tandoori): narrator, wearing pajamas (yellow w/ dinosaurs chasing butterflies?) said she was sleeping. She has blackouts (confessions) and is 16 yo, was last of the children to receive the "Big Chop" the same night parents killed

Hugo: "little" brother but not so little (lifting 40 lb weights in each arm), said he was in 5th grade so he's 10, his job was to "protect" the parents?

Harry (Harrison): twin brother to Tandy, wearing painters's pants & sweatshirt, has asthma, is 'broken' because he shows emotions is 16 yo (same as Tandy) - into the arts: painter, piano prodigy, never earned Grande Gongo

Robert: life-like dummy who sits on the couch with the tv on static constantly on

others in the House:

Samantha Peck: mother's live-in personal assisant, wearing pink satin robe, said she saw them last at 11:30

Possibly NOT in the house:

Matthew: older brother to Tandy, she's called his phone and can't seem to reach him (or so she says), Matthew came in from the kitchen, Alibi: Girlfriend. Malcolm believed he was a sociopath

Sal: Doorman. rang Tandy about the police coming up. TANDY said SAL said the police claim to have gotten a 911 call to bring them to their home

Other people:

Katherine - eldest Angel child, deceased

Maud and Malcolm - murdered parents

Peter: Malcolm's working partner & brother to Malcolm?
Phil: family attorney, arrived with Peter

Virgil - driver, sometimes bodyguard

Dr. (Florence> Keyes: their counselor. she taught them to swallow or hide their emotions. Matty yelled at her. She said emotions poison people. Tandy threw her out.

I can't start till after work, but brilliant idea, Trisha! I do that with books that have a lot of characters or if the plot line has sub-plots. It is very helpful!

this one is REALLY good so far. it's sucking me right into the story

I agree with you Trisha; the story is super good and engrosses you the minute you start to read the first chapter!!

So, (view spoiler)[, this is pretty much one messed up family!!! Either these kids are the next Avengers, or they're just superhuman kids. This plot reminded me or another book Origin, where all the kids have superpowers that were genetically engineered into their system (hide spoiler)].

And (view spoiler)[because everyone seems to be messed up, they're all a suspect (hide spoiler)]

Tandy(view spoiler)[seems to be very tenacious and curious, a more kick-ass version of Nancy Drew. But she seems to be a bit unreliable, even she admits that. I don't think she did it however (hide spoiler)]

So I just finished the first 10 chapters and just....wow. I love how James Patterson is writing the book, as a letter to the readers. I don't see that often and it's very creative. I can't believe how good it is so far! Usually it takes a while for a book to pick up, but this stared right away. I can't wait to read more.

As for the suspects....I'm leaning towards Samantha or the doorman. I just feel like they're suspicious. And I got chills when Tandy said she couldn't take herself off of the suspect list.
