Jennifer Priester (jenniferpriester) | 207 comments This is my recently released second book in the uniquely written Mortal Realm Witch series. Like Book One, it contains stories featuring many different animals. It is written for ages 8-12 and anyone who loves animals and magic.

Just as before there are 6 short stories that can be read individually or as chapters to continue the main story. This one reads a little bit better as individual chapters than Book One did.

Story 1 is about the relationship between a young witch who chooses her new familiar, a little white mouse, based off nothing more than his looks. She quickly begins to discover that while it might be his job to do so, Sampson has no interest in teaching her magic.

Story 2 is the story of a warlock that is about to start his first day at a new school. Because it is possible to do so he uses magic to take his cat to school with him. Later that same day, the warlock loses his cat and upon finding her has to figure out a way to get her back from a young girl.

Story 3 features the adventure of a dog that is on the search for a home and is finding this hard due to the fact that he can talk and he happens to be a Saint Bernard. His biggest dream is to become the familiar of a witch or warlock.

Story 4 features a few extra short stories as DWW presents memories from the past in all new stories. In these are a few stories featuring Trillman. The first one is called Testing Trillman and the whole story is actually available to read right here: http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/3.... The next one is the story of what DWW thinks happened that made Trillman, the Golden Retriever who was her familiar for most of Book One, finally give up with her. Next in this group is the story of how Max, the chocolate Labrador Retriever, became her familiar. After that is one of her most memorable experiences with Max.

Story 5 features Max again as he teaches another witch a little about wizards after she meets one at school.

Story 6 is told directly after the events of the fifth story so Max is once again in this one. This time Max is there to offer occasional input and advice to his new witch. Trillman also appears in this story in order to help his former witch in training from Book One, DWW.

I didn't share any of these with the last book, but this review given to me by my teacher reviewer for the back of my book I like to much not to.
The review is as follows:

"Jennifer Priester creates a wonderful world of witches, warlocks, and magic. Her stories transport you into a different Realm, where fantasy comes to life. Priester's passion for animals shines through as the reader follows the lives of familiars throughout the Realms."

This book is currently only available in print. The Kindle eBook version will be released in September.
