Fantasy/fiction discussion

Since I don't see this question anywhere, I thought I'd ask... Who's your favorite author?
Mine are Diana Wynne Jones & Garth Nix

Oh, easy. Neil Gaiman. No contest, but especially his books for adults--Neverwhere and American Gods (my personal favorite). I like the dark, macabre quality that runs throughout his work. And the humor.

I've only read one of his books. The Graveyard Book, it was good. I've seen 2 movies based off of books he wrote, though & they're both on my 2 read list. Stardust & Mirrormask

i love all authors of good books so idk which would be my favorite.

I dont have a fave but I have a soft spot right now for Wendy Staub and Laurie Stolarz

I don't usually pay much attention to authors, but I started taking a creative writing class last year in school and have much more appreciation for their hard work now. so it always amazes me when an author has more than 3 books printed. especially if they are long ones or in the same set. I can never stick with anything longe enough to finish a story.
