So I'm only about 100 pages in and I can't help but notice the character Rogond has a lot of similarities to Aragorn from Lord of the Rings.

-grey eyed ranger of the mysterious Northmen
-wears a special ring
-spent his childhood among elves
-in love with an elf woman

Maybe I've re-read Lord of the Rings one too many times, but this guy really has me seeing Aragorn.

In other news, it starts off with action and moves at a pretty good pace. There are enough tantalizing bits to keep me going with some down time in between. I'm liking it so far.
