Clara Walker | 2 comments Hi, everyone: I’m Clara Grace Walker. I read and write contemporary women’s fiction. My debut novel, Gratification, is available now on Amazon Kindle. Please note: this book contains adult subject matter and has adult content.

Sex, drugs and murder. Preston Tyler’s quest to save his company from Andy Clarke’s hostile takeover bid is not your average business deal. Worse than the lying, scheming and back-stabbing, however, is having to go to his company’s largest shareholder for help; Maggie McKenzie, the woman who jilted him at the altar. If Preston plays his cards right, maybe he can not only save his company, but win back Maggie’s heart as well.

Richard Krieger | 10 comments Greetings, my name is Richard Krieger and I have published two e-books, Death Stare available for Kindle and Crooked Lines on Kindle and Barnes and Noble. DEATH STARE tells of a physician who can kill surreptitiously with his eyes and CROOKED LINES tells of a young man trying to make his way through the sex, drugs, and alcohol in college after an extremely religious, repressive upbringing by his single mother. I would like to promote both but am not sure if anyone here has experience good, bad, or other with some of the promotional sites, including what is listed here. Are these worthwhile ventures or might my money be better applied elsewhere?

And even though I'm the token male here, I'm working hard at some affirmative action, which basically entails getting lots of women to buy my book. And girls, let me tell you: there is no greater pleasure than getting clicks from chicks. And to that end, I'd like to direct you to the only review I have ever posted on Goodreads. Liz Bell | 3 comments Hi everyone! I am grateful for discovering Goodreads! Such great exposure. I am a 32 year old chick living in Manhattan and I’ve written two books, NOTHING like one another. One is a YA dystopian novel about a girl who is born into the Illuminati, but is unable to be programmed or brainwashed. She therefore is an outcast among the “Others” (everyone else other than the Illuminati) and her own cult. She grows to see how evil a conspiracy she was born into and quests on a search for her mother who ran away when she was little, and answers. Only 99 cents, give it a shot!

http://www.amazon.com/Luminous-Altern...

My other novel is an adult fiction work, based on my real life high school bullying experiences (hence the similarities in the name). Listina is an angry bitter alcoholic who is barely functioning and stumbles upon diaries that she knows she is afraid to read. She does, after hitting rock bottom, she knows her spiral downward is going to kill her. She relives every humiliating memory one by one, being bullied by her own friends as well as other girls. Here are links to my social media below. Enjoy!

So I'm asking for your nominations, please. If you do nominate me, you can enter the contest I'm offering right now for a $100 Amazon gift card.

Then, tell all your friends. If they use your email as the person who referred them to the contest, you will be entered into a SECOND sweepstakes for another $100 Amazon gift card! You can have unlimited entries in that contest.

Not only that, but if Amazon does select my book for publication, if you nominated it Amazon will give you a FREE copy!

Please help me spread the word! Thanks!

J.S. Matthews | 1 comments So I just self published my first book! It is a fantasy action adventure book called, A Symphony of Blood, and is currently available through the Kindle Store but physical copies should be available in a week or so once I approve the proof. If you are interested in the fantasy genre or just enjoy a good story you should check it out! Also, feel free to post some other books as I am always willing to read some new stuff. Here is a brief description of the plot, though it is much deeper than it appears.

"In the world of Tyriel there have been many heroes, none more famous than the monster slayer, Gerhold of Vilheim. After the wife of a powerful lord is kidnapped by a vampire, Gerhold is hired to track down the creature. Upon reaching the vampire’s castle he is issued his greatest challenge: fight his way through the monster’s fortress and rescue the woman, or fail, and leave the lady to the unavoidable fate of undeath.
A Symphony of Blood is a heart pounding action-adventure fantasy novella that will keep you riveted until the final page."

Clodagh Phelan (goodreadscomclodagh_phelan) | 3 comments Hello. I've been on Goodread's a while but only just realised I could promote my book here (Doh!) In my defence though, getting it formatted for Kindle plus a series of technical disasters delayed it and took up all my attention.

My book is called The Eighteenth of November - it's on Amazon Kindle now. I have tried to link to that page and to my author page on Goodreads but the html has defeated me.

It's classified as urban fantasy and paranormal. I think it's nearer magic realism, but even Goodreads doesn't list that category!

The catalyst for the book is the terrible fire that broke out in King's Cross underground station in London on the night of 18th November, 1987. Thirty one people died; police put names to each of the bodies, except for one.

That night Fabriel, a maverick journalist, finds himself at King's Cross underground station and has a sudden, clear vision of the tragedy that's about to unfold. Unable to stop the progress of the fire he gets swept up in it as he tries to save Alice, a young single mum, and her baby Zoë.

Fabriel, still troubled by the violent dreams and weird visions that haunted him in life, is tormented by a series of encounters with a spiteful entity. Confused and traumatised, Alice clings to Fabriel but he cannot handle the powerful emotions she evokes in him.

Alice remembers her baby and begs Fabriel to help look for her, but Fabriel has finally discovered the meaning of his dreams. Convinced that the entity knows his secret, Fabriel abandons Alice and sets off in pursuit of the creature. He persists in his quest, despite the obstacles in his way, but when the entity threatens Alice he rushes to her rescue - and finds that it is Alice, after all, who holds the key.

Set in and around King's Cross and St. Pancras stations in London, and in the Gothic splendour of the abandoned Midland Grand Hotel, this is the story of Fabriel's rebellion and it's consequences. A tale of passion that endures across centuries. Alice's desperate search for Zoë and Fabriel's quest for his identity lead them both to discover the true meaning of love. Then Fabriel is faced with a final and terrible choice.

Michelle Morgan (mjbookeditor) | 15 comments My debut novel, After Henry, is now only $0.99 on Amazon.

After Henry

Here's the blurb:

"At the 90th floor, the stairwell door was propped open. There was a window facing the North Tower, and all you could see was this massive hole. Just blackness. Dad’s grip on my hand tightened. The building was eviscerated."

Emma Jenkins has no memory of the day her father died.

When tragedy strikes the nation, it hits home for Emma. Forced to flee Manhattan, leaving behind her dreams and childhood, Emma must find a way to steady her life, to build around the gaping hole.

Now, after three years, she returns to New York to begin a new future—and face her past. But when the memories come back, she is confronted with lies she was forced to believe. Caught between her present and her past, will Emma accept her memories as truth...or find a way to erase them for good?

Told with both compassion and candor, After Henry is a provocative story about a girl who finds love, and then finds love again.

Bobbi JG Weiss (goodreadscombobbijgweiss) | 1 comments PUBLISHERS WEEKLY says of "Hooked":

"This revisionist fantasy with provocative philosophical verve and depth incites empathy for a most engaging anti-hero while revealing the primal maliciousness imbedded within the tale of Peter Pan... a poetically lush exposé of fragile reality and tormented psyches."

His name is Jonathan Stuart, and he’s just an ornery post-alcoholic bookstore owner from Pasadena with a mania for fencing and a bad habit of disappointing his girlfriend. He is certainly not Captain Hook.

Well... not yet.

by Sonya Van Etten

“Oh, God, I can't take this anymore,” I said through gritted teeth. My fangs pierced my lower lip. I tasted blood.
“Push through the pain. Let your body tell you when.”
“The when is now!”
Meghan got up and went to the door. I heard a muffled conversation take place, saw my lover and Meghan enter the room.
“Get behind her, Dephia, and help her push. Sharen is very tired at this point.”
“Sharen, I have faith in you. Let's have this baby.”
Dephia lifted my shoulders onto her knees, and she cradled my head. She whispered into my right ear.
Suddenly, another contraction ripped through my belly.
“No...no..no...”
“YES. Your time is now,” the unity of their voices put me at ease, sort of. The intensity of the pain wanted to bury me. “Hold her shoulders up.”
Again, I tasted blood as I pushed my baby to the outside world. Blood sweat beaded down my face; two pillar candles, both white, sat on the bedside tables, illuminating my face.
“Keep going. Soon your son will be here.”
I was giving birth to a monster; vampire children were born into adult-size bodies. It was so much simpler when I was human. At least, then, I knew my baby could not inflict harm on me after the birth. Sons raped their parents immediately. My body was just a vessel to hold the prick for a month.
I felt the baby move down the birth canal. I screamed. I could no longer feel throbbing; my stomach was burning. Ring of fire my ass! Whoever romanticized the notion of birth had to have been on crack; every baby I gave birth to hurt worse than the last.
My son pressed on my stomach. I screamed again.

Christopher (christopher_byford) | 1 comments Hi all,

I've decided to set one of my titles as free this weekend, for Amazon Kindle. If you fancy a thrilling and unique adventure, give it a whirl. Here's the blurb:

"South of the lush green plains of Eifera lays the desert wastes. Here, life is hard. Sparse outposts focus on mining material for the North and trading towns, succumbing to the drifting sands from the Sand Sea. Few escape the difficulties here, beaten by the brutality of toil and heat.
Those who commit themselves to this existence have few reasons to celebrate, or enjoy their lives, that is until the Gamblers Den rolls into town.

Led by the charismatic showman Franco, The Gamblers Den is a seven carriage strong train that speeds through the wilderness to provide entertainment to the lucky ones it visits. With showgirls, a multitude of games and fine drink, a visit from the Den brings hope to the downtrodden – provided you can pay the price.

Yet the Den has its own agenda. Franco’s costs are sharply rising and the recent stowaway on board, Wyld, has enticed him with tales of treasure and relics. The temptation to take a detour and aid her in acquiring these items is great and it’s only Misu, the longest serving showgirl on board, convincing him to stop chasing fantasies.

But out here, the law has to be hard to enforce itself, and Franco is about to find one of his passengers is a dangerous liability."
