Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) Currently reading it and loving it so far! I miss Sam though :'(. Also was looking at the short stories and noticed that one link (Part 7) of The Assassin and the Princess doesn't work. but this is one of my favorite series! A few years back I started writing a book that had a female assassin in it.

message 3: by Izzy (new)

Izzy (izzybookholics) Hi Sarah; I'm Belle :)
I just finished CoM, and it was awesome!!!
Firstly I wanted to say that ToG is my favourite book series ever, so as long as you have the urge to write books, keep on writing and I (as well as a lot of others I'm sure) will keep on reading them!!!

Okay, onto some questions:

Is Wendlyn a country, a continent, or both (like Australia, for example)?

Can we expect a map for Wendlyn in book 3?

Umm, well, I know this probably sounds foolish, but I somehow got confused as to whether Wendlyn is part of Erilea. In other words, is Erilea only the continent depicted in the current map (the continent that holds Terrasen, Adarlan etc.), or is Erilea the whole realm?

The southern continent mentioned in The Assassin and the Empire (when Celaena and Sam were going to leave), is a different continent to the one Celaena is travelling to at the end of CoM, isn't it?

In CoM, page 177(?), Dorian was thinking about how Aedion Ashryver, Aelin's cousin (on her mother's side, I do believe), was “his father's prodigy general and the fiercest warrior in the north.”
I was wondering, if Celaena's/Aelin's mother, Evalin Ashryver, was a princess of Wendlyn, then wouldn't that make Aedion a prince of Wendlyn?
If so, how come he is a general for the King of Adarlan?

Can we only ask questions somehow related to CoM? If not:

“You would have been delightful to break,” he told her, and strode from the room, motioning to three tall, well-dressed men as he passed. Not petty guards. She’d seen those three men before. Somewhere—at some point that she couldn’t quite recall …
—The Assassin and the Empire, a Throne of Glass Novella by Sarah J. Maas

I'm not sure who the three men were; is this mystery something I should have been able to solve from the books and novellas published so far, or will it be resolved in future books?

XXK Well, hello! I too am a huge fan of your work. Obviously. I wouldn't really post here if I wasn't.
Throne of Glass was utterly amazing. Fantastic. Genius. I was engrossed as soon as I read the first page, and I truly admire how you describe the scenes perfectly. The pace was always moving, something I really love, and there was even a touch of comedy in it! I also finished Crown of Midnight, and thought it was equally as good.
Why am I explaining your book to you? My apologies, I'm quite dimwitted sometimes.
Anyway, here's a few questions from me:
Who is your favourite character?
Did anything inspire you to create this series? If so, what?
Are you planning to create any other series in the future?
What is your favourite book?

I hope this okay. :D

message 5: by Jenina (new)

Jenina | 2 comments Hello! You're books are interesting! Here are my questions:

-How long is the Throne of Glass series going to be? (I want to know so I can save money accordingly. My addiction to books has gotten me broke sometimes. Ha...)

-Will your novellas ever be in print instead of ebook? (I ask because I prefer reading a physical copy of the book)

-What do you do to overcome writer's block?

-If you could date any literary or fictional character, who would it be?

These are my questions, I hope you enjoyed them! I look forward for the next book! :)

message 6: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 2 comments Hello Sarah

Who is your favorite character to write?

What other YA's do you enjoy reading?

How many books will this series contain?

Will you ever come to canada for a signing (somewhere in the GTA of ontario would be best) ;)

message 7: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1 comments Hi Sarah! I am not a young adult but have devoured these books and am telling all my friends about them!!

The main question/concern I have has to do with the ending of CoM so *spoiler warning* in case anyone hasn't read it yet...

So at the end when Chaol finds out Celaena's true identity, I couldn't really tell if he was upset with her, angry, or what? I can't imagine he'd stay angry for long but I also thought he'd be happy that Celaena is away from danger at the moment. Is he honestly worried that she's now on some mission to take over the throne? I know what I WANT to believe, but I'm still doubting even though Chaol is all kinds of awesome!

Ok so that's all I have for now, thanks so much for taking the time to answer our questions! Can NOT wait for book 3!!!

message 8: by Izzy (new)

Izzy Millican (izzybear23) | 1 comments Hi Sarah! My name is Izzy and I am a huge fan of Throne of Glass and I got Crown of Midnight on the day it came out in the UK. You have inspired me to become a writer when I grow up because I enjoyed your books immensely. I have a quick question: How many books are going to be in the series because the day I finished reading CoM I googled up how many books there are going to be and I got no results. in the 3rd Book have you got any idea who celaena is going to be with. Have you considered any names for crown of midnight. do you have a release date in mind, approximately? What is Chaol going to think about celaena now he knows the truth about her and last off how is celaena supposed to be pronounced. Thank You so much for writing these books they are truly AWESOME!!

message 9: by Kaleigh (new)

Kaleigh Sanio | 1 comments I adore your books, Sarah. The readers before me asked some questions that I am also curious about, but the one this I've been wondering is if we will be seeing Yrene Towers, the healer from The Assassin and the Healer? I thought she seemed like a great character, and maybe a good friend or at least ally for Celaena, and I would love to see more of her! Thanks for writing these books and novellas, they are some of my favourites and I am constantly recommending to friends.

message 10: by Kaina (new)

Kaina (kainal) | 1 comments Hi! :) *waves* So I ADORE YOUR BOOKS just thought you should know that :D I have a few questions:

**SPOILER ALERT**

Did you always know you were going to kill of Sam?

What emotions will Celaena be going through in book 3?

Will Arobynn ever make an appearance in the upcoming book?

Will their relationship be further explained? (Why he did what he did and Celaena finding out/confronting him about it)

Will Celaena and Chaol ever see each other again?

Will we find out more about the history about Celaena's roots?

Does her "family" even know who she is? Will they recognize her?

So sorry for all these questions *sheepish grin* I just love these books to bits, thank you for writing them! :)

message 11: by laurie (new)

laurie hasty (lo96hasty) | 1 comments Hello :)
I love your books they actually inspired some of the stories I've written and one I'm currently writing. The ToG series is my favourite at the moment (there are too many books to read not to have more than one)

- in this next book is there going to be more wyrd magic and magic I general?

- will there be a family tree shown in book three ?
- Did you use a website to design the cover? If so which one?
- can we expect some betrayal in Adarlan? And from who, her cousin maybe?
- will another Eyllwe contact celeana like one of Nehemia's brothers?

Thanks can't wait to see the answers and the third book cover art :D

message 12: by Jocelyn (new)

Jocelyn (ccarpelibrum) | 3 comments Hi Sarah,
My name is Jocelyn I am a blogger I own Ccarpelibrum.blogspot.com and I must say your book is one of my absolute favorites. I have yet to read Midnight Crown but I am looking forward to it.
My questions are,
How did you get the idea for Throne of Glass?
How does it feel to be an author?
What is the strangest reaction someone has had when they realized who you are and what you do?
Will you be coming to Austin Texas anytime soon? (Would LOVE to meet you)

message 13: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hannahsmanyhobbies) Hi, I haven't gotten to read Crown of Midnight yet because there are lots of holds on it at the library, but I just LOVED Throne of Glass. I was wondering if you particularly like Chaol or Dorrian better? I know lots of authors like ALL their characters equally but is there certain characteristics u like in one more than the other? Thanks for taking the time to answer this, I am a huge fan :)

message 15: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (nerdatlas) Hi! I'm Steph.
I've been a fan of the series for a while now (guess thats a bit redundant, since I joined this group). I have one question at the moment (for Maas I mean):

Do you feel you have anything in common with Caelena? If not, did you base her off of anyone you know?

can't wait for Crown of Midnight to get to my school library so I can read it! (My friend and I have made it a race to see how gets to read it first).

message 16: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hannahsmanyhobbies) I would be that friend...AND I SHALL WIN OR ELESE!!!!!!! :p

message 18: by Grace (new)

Grace Higgerson | 2 comments Hello, I'm Grace
You have no idea how long I have waited for Crown Of Midnight to come out. Honestly I read the whole thing in one day my mom even let me skip school. That is just how much I love TOG! So far I have reread the book like 3 or so times because I can't get enough of it! I LOVE IT!!!
Okay, so my main question is will the book be from different peoples point of view (Caelena, Chaol, Dorian)since they are now all split up???

message 20: by Britt (new)

Britt (kalebsmome) Hi Sarah!!! Thank for creating Celeana I think she is the most amazing charecter ever. I enjoyed your books Tremendously. I am so excited that there will be so many more installments and the world you created can carry them all. What is your new series 'A court of thorn and roses' about and how do you ever have trouble keeping the worlds separate?

I know Crown of midnight was just released but it was so good I blew thru it. Any estimate on the next book or maybe a hint at the title? Or you could just tell us the title :-)))

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Sarah. I am a hige fan and have a few questions. How did you come up with the idea for this series? What is your writing process? How long did it take you do write these books? Was it hard for you to write these books?

message 23: by Neel (new)

Neel (neelgupta2112) | 3 comments Hi Sarah,

Your books are just...wow. Your character construction is phenomenal.

I haven't read the novellas yet, but I want to know how important they are to the coming story. How necessary is it to read the novellas?

message 24: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 1 comments Hi Sarah, I'm Hannah! First I want to say that the ToG series is so amazing so far and I predict it will be my favorite series ever. I'm wondering what can we expect for book three? Like new characters or places? Also do you have the entire series mapped out and know how you're going to end it all?

message 25: by MJ (new)

MJ Woody (harpsickhord) Hi Sarah, I'm Mary Jane. I was browsing through my library one day last year and I came across this book with a terrific cover called Throne of Glass that was about a badass female assassin. I couldn't resist trying it out--and from that day on I was a fan of yours!! Needless to say, I absolutely loved Throne of Glass and I'm super stoked to devour Crown of Midnight as well!! :D I was thrilled to receive a notification saying that you would be answering questions this Wednesday!! Can't wait!! :D

Deborah (speedoflightning) | 2 comments Hello Ms. Maas!!! I am a huge fan. Did you know from the beginning of the series who Celaena really was or did you think of it later? How many books will be in this series? There will be at least a third book right? By the way I absolutely LOVE how the tragedy of Celeana's past, its very fascinating how shaped her. And when is the next book coming out?? You have been one of many encouragements to me to continue to write. I love writing but I'm finding it harder to find time for it now. Do you have any tips?

Heather (hmpotts724) | 1 comments Hi Sarah! Huge fan of your books! Totally in love with Chaol and Celaena and I just can't believe you...well, I don't want to be spoilery! A couple questions about the series:

1) How many books are there going to be in this series and have they all be signed by your publisher?

2) Will Celaena face off against Arobynn eventually? I seriously need to see him get his after the whole Sam thing! ;)

3) Any hints about where things are headed in book three?

Phoebe (wuas) | 1 comments Hi Ms. Maas, I love your book Throne of Glass and can't wait till I read Crown of Midnight! I have a few questions and they are:
1)What do you have planned for in the third book?
2)How did you get the idea to write the Throne of Glass series?
3)I have not read Crown of Midnight yet, what should I expect when I read it?

message 31: by James (new)

James Rulison | 2 comments Hello Ms. Maas; Not to many male readers I see in the questions here. I don't think I have any real questions. The first book you left the perfect amount of breadcrumbs the second book was a complete feast.

I guess my only question will be do we really have to wait another year for book 3?

I have to say as a person who reads about 100-200 books a year I have found myself returning to read not just the books but the novellas again and again.

Best regards,
James

message 32: by Abbey (new)

Abbey Walker | 1 comments Hi Sarah! I'm in college currently, trying to major in creative writing. I want to write my own science fiction YA novel one day. One thing I love reading about are strong female characters like Celaena. What pointers would you give to me when it comes to writing and eventually publishing?

message 33: by Amy (new)

I've only read Throne of Glass because I'm waiting the release of Crown Of Midnight in Spanish. Do you know when would that be?

I loved Throne of Glass and I'm eager and super excited for CoM. Thank you!
Victoria :)

message 36: by Maddie (new)

Maddie | 1 comments I love your books they're awesome and I almost started crying with the whole Cealena doesn't trust Chaol anymore thing.

So my question is are you ever going to put the novellas in book form and not just e reader form? becuase if you did that would be totally awesome :)

message 37: by Olivia (new)

Olivia Duff (oliviaduff) | 1 comments Hi!

I really loved Throne of Glass the moment I started reading it. I read over 100 books a year, but this book series is in my top ten favorites. I have a couple questions though. First, what inspired you to write Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight? Whatever it is, if it produces a genius story like Throne of Glass then I should totally try it. I want to be a writer. Any pointers? How many books do you think will be in this series? Please write more. I love your style of writing. I also want to thank you for writing a book worthy of my time.

message 38: by Jourdan (new)

Jourdan Jones (jourdygirl15) | 1 comments Hey Sarah! I know you probably won't even read this but I would just like to say how much I love your books especially the ToG series! For me to read and book I have to get in to it on the first few pages… which is why I usually don't read a lot. I found this series intriguing in the first paragraph! So thank you so much! I do have one question I hope you will answer though… When will the third book come out?????

message 39: by Natalie (new)

Natalie | 1 comments hey sarah,
i loved your book ToG soooo much and i am so excited to read CoM (but my mum brought it for my birthday i wont let me have it for another month!!!)
i was wondering, what gave you the idea to write a book like this? and are to team Chaol or Dorian???

message 40: by Ale (new)

Ale | 1 comments Hey Sarah! I read Throne of Glass a few months ago, and I only had to read the first lines to fall in love with it. I think is the best book I've read so far, this year.

Ok, to the questions. I'm a hobbyist writer as well, and I would really appreciate your feedback.

-English is not my first tongue (Spanish is), what would you recommend me to do to learn more vocabulary?

-Lately, I've been having this thing called "writer block" (that annoying moment when you cannot write a thing). Did you have them often while writing your novels? If you did, what did you do to get inspired again?

Looking forward to receiving your reply!
Greetings from Peru

Hatsumi :)

Sara Santana | 1 comments Hi Sarah! I was so excited to be able to meet you when Crown of Midnight came out :) I had a question about writing. What advice do you give to young writers, and what advice would you give to young writers trying their hand at world building? Your stories have some of the best world building I've seen and I'm very impressed by it.

message 42: by Riley (new)

Riley Hi Sarah!,

First off I have read ToG and CoM and I loved them both.

My question to you is that in both books i realized that you must always be ahead of the game in a way. I feel like the whole thing is like a web of ideas like with in CoM celaena falling for chaol and then celeana totally cold shouldering him. So back to the point/ question how do you stay ahead of the game?

Question #2: how do you come up with names so unique?

With love from Ontario Canada
Riley Book <3
(I love you!!!!!!<3)

Taryn Cameron (coverdit) | 1 comments Hi Sarah!
1. I was wondering what your writing process was? (i.e; whether you have a special ritual when you are writing?)
2. I was also wondering what advice you have for young readers like me for characterization?

P.S: I absolutely ADORED CoM! I literally CRIED when I found it at the book store!Seriously, ask the lady who worked there l;)

message 44: by Sephora (new)

Sephora (f-of-words) Hello, Sarah,

It's nice to finally get the chance to talk to you!

I haven't yet the opportunity to read Crown of Midnight (trust me, it's killing me that i haven't), but I must say that you have the most captivating writing style.

My question(s) is/are, how/when did you develop this style? What advice do you give other writers in regards to coming up with their own way of grasping their readers' attentions?

message 45: by Coco (new)

Coco | 1 comments Greetings Sarah and everyone!
My question for Sarah is about the character development. The character development in your novels truly is amazing so I was wondering, did/do you know how the characters would/will end up when you began writing the story or was it something that happened along the way?

message 46: by Claudia (new)

Claudia | 1 comments Hi Sarah! I'm Claudia and I want to be a writer. I gotta say that when I read your books you immediately became one of my inspirations. I love the way in which you develop the story and the way each character has its own special personality. My question is the following: What inspired you to create such a powerful character as Celeana? And what would you recommend to fans that want to be writers?
I personally admire you and I want to congratulate you for creating such a great story! Thank you! :)

message 47: by Cassie C (new)

Cassie C | 3 comments Hi Sarah! I'm Cassie, and I absolutely adore your books! This is one of my favorite series of all time, and that's the absolute truth. So my questions are:

What inspired you to write the series?

Which character is the hardest to write about? Which is you favorite to write?

Will you ever make a family tree so that we can see how exactly everyone is related?

Do you know going in how the story is going to end? Like, do you know what characters are going to die going in, or does it constantly change as you're writing?

Finally, which character do you relate to the most in the series?

Thanks for answering my questions :) Never stop writing!

message 48: by [deleted user] (last edited Sep 12, 2013 06:53PM) (new)

Hey Sarah! I'm Ozi and after reading Throne Of Glass I just ran over to my computer and put COM on hold. This series is awesome! I just have a few questions:

Is Celaena and Chaol going to have any feeling for each other in COM?

Did you make Celaena to come of a little like you?

Finally, How many books are you planning on making for this series? *crosses fingers for a lot* :P

Thanks for this amazing series you've started, and I can't wait to pick up COM from my library! :D :D :D

message 49: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristioctober) | 1 comments Hi Sarah! I love your series, its my favourite!! I wanted to know whether you are making a CoM paperback cover to match the ToG cover with the black background, blue city and girl on the front (also is that you?)

Its my favourite cover, because it looks so beautiful. Only the best series go on my bookshelf and yours is getting a prime position :) Also, have the novellas been released combined in a book because I haven't seen them on shelves here in Australia, or will they only ever be online?

I cried my eyes out at the end of the last novella, and cant wait for the next book!! Thanks so much for taking the time to read and answer all our questions,

Kristi :)

message 50: by Louise (new)

Louise (wotdafox) Hi Sarah

I have read over three hundred books in the last three years and I have a shelf of my 'five all time favorite series'... yours is top of my list

I have two questions for you:

1. BOOK 3
Where can I find updates about BOOK 3? I don't want to wait a single second longer than I have to before buying it.

2. CLEARER MAP
Can you post a better map somewhere on-line with everything on it - where it's all legible. (The map on my ipad e-reader is small/out of focus when I enlarge it and totally useless.)

Thanks and LOVE YOUR WORK, now best you get back to hot Chaol :)

Louise
