After we get up and running we'll be doing a Deck Rotation style pick but for first pick I think we should all nominate a book and pick it at random. I nominate so I'll have an excuse to finally read it.

I vote for as I have been trying to get someone else to read this for years.

I've read some Dekker before, but not that one.

I like both of these choices. I think I would probably read Black first, if the two were in front of me and I had to choose. I don't really have anything off the top of my head to nominate at the moment, so I will just vote for Black. lol

If nobody else suggests anything by Monday I'm not even going to roll the dice on these. Looking like Black might be it lol.

Black sounds good, as I just read the short synopsis but now I have to scrap my own story The Perpetual Dream as it's almost the same exact thing. Fudge! Now I'm kinda peeved. Lol. 20,000 words in and all for nothing.

Like Jim Butcher said a premise doesn't make a story. It'll turn out different enough just because its you writing it.

I guess. Switch the gender, change the bullet to a drunk driver and make the other world a fantasy place (then later on another place of technology), toss in some destiny/fate and tangled timelines instead of a terrorist attack and that's how it differs. I'm just deflated for the moment. ;)

I am also interested in reading So if you guys are interested in adding it to the list it is an option. EDIT: Just read some reviews...it was a very mixed bunch and it appears to be a VERY large book. What are the opinions of some of you guy's on this novel?

I liked it. Very out of the box vampire book.

Yea it's just under 800 pages which is about twice as long as most of the others nominated lol

The random pick will be on Monday but so many people have consigned Black that I thought maybe we could have an alternate pick for those of us who either read quickly or who can't get into the main book. What do you guys think of that idea?
