What is the conclusion to ten tiny breaths does lace mum meant moments I never understood

its a method of coping when things start to overwhelm you - take 10 tiny breathes - instead Kacey coped (or rather didn't) with sex/drugs/alcohol, and then moved onto kick-boxing

I think it was kind of up to the reader on how to interpret this. I think its meaning to just keep living and as long as your breathing your alive and make the most of it. As well when Kacey became overwhelmed taking tiny breaths got herself under control.
