Wren (wrenreaders) Hi! Can anyone recommend me any spells for beginners involving little or no ingredients with no candles? Thank you, bless u all.

message 2: by Ancestral (new)

Ancestral Gaidheal (gaidheal) I cannot recommend any spells, but I could direct you to the Practical Magic thread for books that may be of use to you.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

What are the results of a spell?

message 4: by Aaron, Moderator (new)

Aaron Carson | 1216 comments Ideally whatever you want, but karma has a way of interfering. I've found some spell results to be a poetic joke on me.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Are they also known as incantations? Where do you get the words to a spell?

message 6: by Aaron, Moderator (new)

Aaron Carson | 1216 comments Some people make them up, some people only use spells in Latin, Old Celtic, Old Norse, or Sanskrit. I suppose any language you regard as mystical would work for you. Paganism is a lot about following your intuition, so what appeals to you, can be quite indicative.

There's probably lists of spells written down somewhere, but a lot of it would be corrupted information. I seem to recall coming across a book written by a sixteenth century witch finder, listing all the spells used by witches, but there was a definite fear element in those spells, and of course the accuracy would be in question, as well as the advisability of using them.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Sanskrit, really. What makes a language mystical? I mean, what are the qualifications? I'm fairly adept at following my intuition, have honed it to a skill to be blunt.
Jeez, this is way over my head. I wouldn't have the slightest clue as to make up a spell. In English or any other language.

Do you believe people have the ability to speak in tongues?

message 8: by Aaron, Moderator (new)

Aaron Carson | 1216 comments I live in a tribal area where the locale religion includes these sort of shamanic oracles, who regularly go into a trance and speak in tongues when they are allegedly channeling their respective God. Yes I think people can speak in tongues, having seen the ritual in action.

Paganism isn't really about hard and fast rules, at least not modern paganism. Ancient paganism would have been another matter probably. I'd be hard pressed to give you a definition of a mystical language. Certainly many people regard the qualifications as having to do with age. Sanskrit has a reputation of being a very old language so it attracts many people. A lot of Neo pagans are fascinated with the Ancient Celtic religion, so that language also has a bearing. Personally I've always thought that Finnish or Finno Urgic might be a useful language to know for spells. In old Norse they used the term "Finnish Man" to refer to a sorcerer. Finnish also developed independently of the indo European languages, sharing a root with Lapp and Hungarian, which gives it a mystique for me.

But this is all assuming you need words to accomplish a spell. Some people are more successful with gestures, music, or accessories. I think again, your intuition would be the guide here.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay, got it. Thanks, Aaron.

Spells do not always need words.

message 11: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) Do u have any ideas for spells to help with ending abuse?

message 12: by Aaron, Moderator (new)

Aaron Carson | 1216 comments One piece of advise I'd give is use positive wording. For instance I wouldn't use words like "don't", "not," "no", or even "end". Instead of focusing on the abuse you want to invoke what you'd like to see instead.

Somehow something floral comes to mind for me, but you probably want to use your own imagery.

This is something you should use a more reliable means to stop.
Social services, police, etc do a web search for a support group in your area, phone them for pointers and help.
If you are worried about someone finding out about your websearch then use the "private browsing" option available in most browsers (Internet Explorer, the Windows one has it under the "Safety" tab at the top of the screen), this means no search history or pages visited while in "private browsing" mode will be left on the machine.

I agree.

Aaron Carson | 1216 comments You could do both though.

I've already gone to the children's aid twice and told numerous consellors.

And as for the flowers, how exactly do I make my own spell with them? People keep telling me to make my own but i don't know how

message 18: by Aaron, Moderator (new)

Aaron Carson | 1216 comments It's a hell of a spell to start with, if you've never tried making one up before. I wouldn't recommend trying this one first off.

As for making up spells, no-one knows how to start when they start. The reason people tell you to do it yourself is probably because, like me, they don't want to be responsible for such an important spell, and the general rule is that the spell you compose yourself is supposed to be more meaningful and impactful.

My intuition impelled me to mention flowers, but your intuition would be better than mine considering it's such a personal matter.

message 19: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) I told the authorities twice and many consellors numerous times. I've even suffered suicidal thoughts but that wasnt enough show people what I'm going through. Nobody believes me. And the worst part is that the physical stuff has stopped for three years; now it's only emotional and threats. Since there's no bruises, no one believes me.

Find a support group then if the authorities aren't helping. Even if there isn't one near you there will be one a phone call away and there will be forums on the net I'm sure...private search as described above if worried about folk finding out.

message 21: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) People have been mentioning shelters and stuff. That's not an option for me cause I'm 15

message 22: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) Thanks for the spell, though!

message 23: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) Yes yes and yes. None of my relatives want to take me in. (legally my parents have to agree with where I stay) I've called the kids help phone and I have numbers for LGBT youth support, the children's aid and social workers numbers as well. I stayed at the hospital as well and I clearly expressed my situation. Like I said, if there's no physical bruises, they don't care about the emotional bruises or self loathing.

message 24: by Aaron, Moderator (new)

Aaron Carson | 1216 comments It sounds strange to me Julia. The youth support group, children's aid workers, none of these people are taking you seriously. It was my understanding that social services usually have to take emotional abuse quite seriously as well. Of course they have strict definitions for what constitutes emotional abuse.

message 25: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) They just don't believe me. No one does and I don't know why.

I know Cyndi Lauper has the True Colors Foundation and there is where I found it.

Nothing in this world lasts forever, your pain must come to an end. If you can't free yourself now, seek for ways to get strengh and believe one day you will be the one in charge of your own life.

It does get better.

message 33: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) thanks

message 34: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) hi, i heard of a spell to help keep those away who hurt you: write their name on a little piece of paper, put it in an ice cube dish, and put water and sugar and freeze it, "Trapping" their efforts to hurt you. however, my freezer is small and wont be able to hold the ice cubes for too long before i may need to get rid of them...., with a spell like this, how do i dispose of the ice cubes with the names safely? that is, without accidentally having another spell occur??? thanks!

got a lake :)

message 36: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) i hope you all dont mind if i ask for your prayers again. the children's aid is forcing me to move away from my foster mom (whom i love like family, she is family to me) to a new city with another aunt and uncle that dont know very much about who i am. i am already so stressed out about exams; now i am also worrying that i might cut again. please pray that i get enrolled in a good school, make lots of friends, and am accepted by them. also that everything ends up ok. thank you so much.

message 37: by Nell (new)

Nell Grey (nellgrey) | 1682 comments Be strong Julia - hang in there and have faith that things will be well. Thinking of you.

message 38: by Aaron, Moderator (new)

Aaron Carson | 1216 comments Is it because they're blood relatives that they're shifting you?

message 39: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) thank you
its because since im on a temporary care agreement, i am not a permanent part of the children's aid. the idiotic, abusive horrible aunt and uncle i lived with before are making this so difficult, and the children's aid lied to me about court documents and who would win. So yes; it is "law" and blood relatives. (even though i love my foster mom more than i love some of my blood relatives)

message 40: by Luciana (new)

Luciana Gerez | 28 comments I will be sending my thoughts to you. But I can already tell what a strong warrior you are. I believed I was in similar situation on that age, but I never had the courage to stand up for myself, I left my parent's house when I was 20 and yet, with false arguments to avoid confrontation. I admire you strength and I really wish the best for you.

message 41: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) thank you so much. it helps me to see all this support. it helps give me a reason to carry on and live

message 42: by Luciana (new)

Luciana Gerez | 28 comments Julia, since last year I've been thinking of aplying to become a foster myself and reading how much your foster means to you surely gave a boost to us here.

The reason I'm telling you this is to let you know how does the love chain work... Your history of hope and fight might produce fruits here in Switzerland and somebody you don't know will benefit from your strength.

Don't give up and keep on growing. You are a winner already.

message 43: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) thank you! this is all really helping

PJ Who Once Was Peejay | 336 comments Wishing you all strength and peace, Julia. As others have said, you are a warrior and will make yourself a fine life by and by.

message 45: by Ariel (new)

Ariel Brown | 24 comments Greetings Julia,

I have only just read this discussion, and I would like to offer the following. Google 'advancedlifeskills.com' it has the basics of changing one's life through a form of spellweaving.
I am an old witch/crone who teaches the philosophy and practice of witchcraft. Spells are created in your mind by thought. Positive thoughts equal positive outcomes and Negative or depressive thoughts equal negative life outcomes.
One can train one's own thoughts to create whatever you wish. This is what witches do.

I do not suggest that it is a simple process, but with a bit of determinism it has immediate effects in one's life.

To begin, forget about "other people" and never do a spell to influence another person. You only have the right to change your life - not others.

I can be found on facebook if you want further information.

Brightest Blessings to you...

Ariel Brown

Thank you...over time I have come to really understand the spell aspect of paganism and looking back at this thread, I remember when I thought that I had to do spells. I will definitely check out that site you mentioned.
