Mitchell Michael (orpasoa) | 9 comments The Ancients: Book One; Missy
I'm brand new to this site and don't really know my way around, but really want to promote my first two books (part of a series) called The Ancients. The first book, Missy, is based around the upbringing of an adopted girl who stood out massively from everyone else, due to one significant difference; she was telepathic (amongst other things, though that's elaborated throughout the book.)
The second book, Origins, dates back to the 1700's to visit the origins of two characters we meet in the first book, and also touches down on the demon who caused all the misery in the first book as well as focussing on what it was that moulded the two characters into what they are in the first book.
There are two other books that are to be written as part of the series, but the current two can be found at http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/theanci...

Jenni | 10 comments Hi, I have had a quick peek at your book.
The language is a little old fashioned for my taste, it doesn't seem to flow.
The story in the sample pages feels a little false. You rush through 17 years telling the reader what to think rather than showing through some examples or conversation. The relationship with the man is thrust onto the reader rather suddenly.
There are some great Show and Tell guide books that I would recommend reading -
Show and Tell in a nutshell - Jessica Bell
Show or Tell - James Thayer
There are a few grammatical errors such as winters rather than winter, these tend to trip up and slow the reader down. Perhaps another edit would be a good idea.
But I wish you luck.

Mitchell Michael (orpasoa) | 9 comments Thanks for the quick review :) Unfortunately I can't afford professional reviews so have had to rely on my friends criticism, so I definitely appreciate the input you have given and will certainly take action where it is needed.
I will also take a look at those two guide's, thank you.

message 14: by Jenni (new)

Jenni | 10 comments Its so hard when you start. I had some pretty harsh comments when I first put 2 chapters onto goodreads, but the advice paid off and my writing improved.
I have my first fiction book out on kindle, so far reviews have been 4 and 5 stars, but as more people read it I'm sure to get reviews with helpful comments so that the next in the series can be better.I know it is not perfect. :)
I have also relied on family and friends to edit and give me general feedback , plus a free online editing programme that is never happy with my work!! But after a few goes I learnt lots about grammar and sentence structure, which words to avoid etc. I have read and edited and reedited so many times. But there comes a point when you have to put it our there into the big world.

message 15: by Michael (new)

Mitchell Michael (orpasoa) | 9 comments Yeah, I know it can be quite a blow when people criticise your work but I'm trying my hardest to not take it to heart and just learn from it because I really want to make a living out of this, I really have a passion for it but it's hard to get feedback sometimes, especially when family and friends can sometimes struggle to be harsh when it's needed. I've just finished my second book which admittedly needed more revision than my first. The reviews on Show And Tell in a Nutshell look promising so I will buy that as soon as I can :)
I've got another two books (all part of the series) that are to be out over the next two years as well as a separate book I'm trying to work on. I will admit though that reading back, I can see a vast improvement in the writing style. I said to myself that I can see myself finishing the series and then going back to rewrite the first book entirely, using what I have learnt to make it the best it possibly can be.
Again, thank you for your input, it is truly appreciated! :)

Alex George | 1 comments Hello,

I'm a fantasy fiction novelist, so if that's the genre that interests you, then why not pop in for a chat, review, or to see what I've been up to?

Here's a short synopsis of my first novel, "Under the Dragon's Claw" which is available on Amazon in kindle form. For Brits, the book is available in paperback at Amazon.co.uk.

Synopsis:

There is something odd about Theodor: he doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of his friends. What’s Archon, doing here? The High Mage’s arrival at the cottage has put his parents on edge. King Aldorn, Overlord of the Midlands, sent him. A shadow from the family’s clandestine past, he is an unpleasant interruption that has caught up with them, and Theo must pay the price.

In ‘Under the Dragon’s Claw’, the first of the ‘Heartstone Talisman’ books, Theo is torn from his island home by the violent machinations of the Dark Brotherhood. Hostile forces bend their will to destroy him. Whether he likes it or not, he has chosen a side, and must be taught how to survive by the mage and his traitor-nymph companion.

The bulwark of the west, Alcavia, is about to fall, and the city’s Warrior Princess is in the clutches of the Warlock Zarzbudin. Theodor must travel to the Dragon’s Foot Mountains to save her. The road will be fraught with peril: Dark Nymphs, Ogres, and Trolls thrown in his path. He will not be alone. Serilia, his sister, though an apprentice sorceress, is tenacious, his best friend Nem is steadfast and brave, and they have the mage. Surely they will be enough to hold the tide that threatens to flood their world.

I just want to start by saying I love the Unicorn, I am sure they exist.
Well, my debut novel Beware the Seventh Wave has just been published, ebook and print on Amazon. The novel is quintessentially English, set in a quiet market town where nothing ever happens-or does it?
In the novel deceit, obsessive love, betrayal and murder are threaded alongside the fabric of normal life. Emma is convinced she has found the man of her dreams, until she suspects her lover may have a darker side. Was he a cold, calculated killer or a victim in someone else’s deadly game?
Emma believes she will uncover the truth, but are some lies better left undiscovered?

Thank you Linda,
I'm just finding my way around.
As it is blowing a gale outside I have finally found time to sort out an author page, after a few blips I think I have got the hand of it. However, I now have to go outside, away from the world of books, readers and writers into the real world of sleet/rain to sort out the fluffy/furry gang.
I wouldn't have it any other way (Oh but it is cold & the fire is warm)
Bye for now

James Corkill | 28 comments Hello. I’m James M. Corkill. After much investigation as to what specific genre my stories fit into, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a Sci-Fi/Techno Thriller writer. I guess that makes sense, because there are no weird alien creatures, strange worlds, or galactic battles in my stories. I suppose my writing would be considered a modern day version of a Jules Vern story, but with advanced technology. My stories invoke the question, what if? You probably would not want it to happen, because in my stories it does.

Cold Energy. Episode 2 of the Alex Cave series.

Peter Ochs | 1 comments Greetings All.

My first book (now long out of print) was a guidebook to a little known country in the Middle East: The Maverick Guide to Oman. As the title implies, the series dealt with off the beaten path destinations. I lived in Oman for a number of years and worked as a tour operator in adventure trekking.

My second book, and first work of fiction,Eyes of the Sage is drawn from a number of sources as well as personal experiences leading to a blending of genres and has Oman for the setting.

The story centers on an archeological dig where an astro-physicist is called in to consult on the project after the unfortunate death of the team's lead archeologist. Just why an astronomer is called into a situation where he is evidently a "fish out of water" is not clear, but his participation is not accidental.

The dig involves a lost civilization in the Arabian desert about 3000 years old that thrived for close to a millennium. The society appeared to be led by an enigmatic father figure who surprisingly continued to crop up, as records suggested, throughout the recorded history of the settlement. Some time in it's ninth century, the civilization (and it's intriguing father figure) disappeared after the known collapse of a great earthen dam.

As artifact are recovered and catalogued, the astronomer is drawn into a complex scenario where his very actions will trigger the climatic events and reveal the identity of the mysterious mentor.

The book is available in softcover, Nook and Kindle formats.

Comments welcome.
Many Thanks

Bethany Penick | 1 comments Hello to all,

I'm also very new to this site and is unsure of the process, with that said, here goes. Ive just published my first novel Dites Oui: Say Yes, which is now available on Amazon.

The following passage is a quick synopsis of the tale.

Ever the consummate professional, years of staunch dedication paid dividend when Hollywood made Julia Berwick the offer of a lifetime, an alluring proposition she could not refuse. Michael Dunhill——rumored a resurrected knave——emerged as the man brandishing the check. A renowned scoundrel with whom her alliance was now linked, an association she soon discovered came with dire stipulations attached.
Coerced into partaking in a tryst, Julia soon found her agreement to be a severe miscalculation. Locked now in a battle of will and lascivious demands with the handsome Adonis himself, the simplicity of lust quickly spiraled into rivalry, as both drudged further in their quest to outwit, outlast and outmaneuver the other.

Dites Oui is written as a mixture of old and new in its style, a contemporary romance that is erotic, sensual and deep. Perfect for those who love a story that keeps a smile on your face, yet do mine the canniness of the words to do that. Below you'll find a short introduction to the opening chapter of my book.

Low, wispy clouds crowned the crest of their dazzling heads. Ebony festoons of night thickened, dribbled aloft the tall, majestic throngs that so eerily cluttered a murky black sky. Algid thickness easily stifled the night’s spangle. Snuffed like the wicks of a million tapers all shrouded at once, the heavens showed no semblance of light.
Varnished across the foundations below, frost skimmed the crust of inlets and fields, smearing what it could in a dazzling speckle of silvery white. It glazed the surface like enclave mist in adjunct of the sun. A frigid gust swirled raptly through the expanse in-between. Snaking rashly through taut crevices and unprotected husks, it frolicked with the frenzied innocence of kids; yet carved with the virulent edge of a blade. Slashing with ease through the defensive armor of their bodies, vagrants and matriarchs alike bore full evidence of its numbing.
Though hardly unseen, its sting reared with a stealth-like strike. Drilling deeper the longer the warring endured. Its intent seemed hardly virtuous but instinctively malign. Spelt thus with the mew of its sardonic dance, as limbs, in compliance with such operose force, bowed low in a torturous sway. Icy breath nipped harshly at shivering bones, making warmth the hunted trove for one and all. Though only a few now braved the unleashed vengeance, the ornery weather seemed so determined to bestow.
The streets of uptown Charlotte and its surroundings sat tranquil. Birthing evidence of the hour, though, in truth, it exposed, more fixedly, the arrogance of winter’s frosted embrace in the severity of its smite. With thermostats proudly displaying their ever descending figures, “fourteen degrees” their faces seemed to sneer. Yet night had barely rested its weary head.
Julia Berwick stepped from the incubated warmth of her vehicle and sighed, cringing as a seemly pugnacious chill sliced beneath the tense layers of her flesh. In retaliatory guise, a shiver promptly rattled her tautening frame. Shuddering through her core as blast of glacial air pelted the exposed walls of her garage, gluttonously imbibing the meager warmth it once held. The wintry gust swallowed the exposed space in less than the honing of a trice. With coat drawn tight against her body, Julia hurried from the drafty room. Eager to feel the warmth of her house, tired feet showed no waver in their hurry. Thus, the coil of her vapored breath plumed softly in her hustle, published fixedly like a mutinous trail around her face with the slightest weight yielded in each pant. Gingerly swinging the large portal shut, she bolted the barrier masterfully without discord or sound, though she could not say the same for what seemed the reverberated grouse of an eruption. Yowling puckishly in its laborious plunge, each inch felt like a brazen heckle from the distinctive yawn of an ominous garage door. Calming visibly with the release of an audible breath, weary shoulders promptly fell as the raucous chorus died. In follow, night again offered no disrupting jangles to be feared, but spoke of its mysteries in the welcomed assonance of a whisper. Julia savored for a moment the essential swaddling of heat. Almost purring in acquiesce of the pleasure such luxury provided and the simplicity of the need.

Dervan Brown | 2 comments Hi, I am Dervan.
I just released two new steamy and avant-garde romance novels “Say Hello To The Broken-Hearted” and “Dirty Jewelry” in kindle and printed format.
I am currently seeking reviews for both novels to be posted on amazon and on goodreads.com
I am giving away 20 kindle copies of each title. I have nine more copies of Say Hello To The Broken-Hearted to give away and 11 more copies of Dirty Jewelry to give away as well.
Please send me a message if you are interested.
Here is what one reviewer had to say about the first title;
Esteban review
" Weaving an intriguing narrative, Dervan Brown's, SAY HELLO TO THE BROKEN-HEARTED presents an astonishing and illuminating plot, which is totally riveting in its delivery, regarding two cousins who are subliminally infatuated with each other; and are on the boundaries of exploring an incipient and inchoate relationship. Undoubtedly, this is an extremely bold and courageous attempt on the part of Brown to portray and discuss the extremely difficult, problematic and controversial subject of incest. The characters are solid, especially, John and Karla Steelburg in this stunning and jaw-dropping page turner. Masterfully crafted, poignant and wrenching on a most onerous and hellish theme. Simply, a novel you should not miss. Captivating and surprisingly moving from the beginning to the end. I strongly recommend, SAY HELLO TO THE BROKEN-HEARTED !!!

SYNOPSES
Say Hello To The Broken-Hearted by Dervan Brown
“Say hello to the broken-hearted” The story that led to John Steelburg aiming a point four five caliber Taurus magnum handgun against the temple of his head. What reason is there to live, when the one you devotedly loved, sacrificed everything for, left you with a shattered heart and otherwise destitute?

John Steelburg was the model tall, built and handsome twenty two years old, with a wonderful family, friends and a gleaming future. He had just arrived home from college to pass the usually dull and lonesome summer with his family in the country hills of Sawyers. However, little did he know that life would take on an entirely new direction when he meets the exceedingly gorgeous, Karla Steelburg.
Dirty Jewelry by Dervan Brown
Do you still have memories of your high school love?
Is there a part of you that would love to relive those days?

“Dirty Jewelry” is the love tale of a young Casanova by the name of David Benson. He was conceited, charismatic and daring. He ruled with a God complex like none other. A chauvinistic pig the lesser intimates would brand him. He cared none.
It was his world. You just merely existed in it.

Well, long live the king! As all that went tumbling down when he met the overly exquisite, and none can compare majestic Danielle Dickenson.
Swear you can keep a secret? Danielle was already engaged…shhhh.

Hi all,

Runaway Joe by David Hight

Runaway Joe

by David Hight (Goodreads Author)

4.0 of 5 stars 4.00 · rating details · 4 ratings · 4 reviews

RUNAWAY JOE is the story of a young drifter who has isolated himself from the rest of humanity, both physically and emotionally. Until in the summer of 1972, he meets an exceptional young woman, who introduces him to the magic and power of theatre, taking him on a journey through his own mind, and healing his spirit in the process.
There's a huge cast of characters that revolve around Joe's story, and they'll guide you through tales that run the gamut of human emotion and ethics.
Tragedy and sorrow, as well as triumph and joy are well represented. Grace and elegance, compassion and courtesy are there too. But it's not all flowers and sunshine, there's despair so deep, it's crippling, there is maliciousness, manipulation, unconscionable villainy and horrifying insanity.
I hope readers will find Joe's story enjoyable, and I hope they'll find something else too, that magic does exist. The magic of connecting with our own unknowable souls, and at least for a little while, becoming a pure being of selfless thought and feeling. Once that state of being is attained, you may visit the realm from whence the magic came, a wondrous realm where we shed our humanity and our spirits are freed, a realm where lives joy, and beauty, and even love. It's a realm that once visited, will always remain a part of you. I hope to see you there.

To my friends that have already been so helpful in my journey as a writer, I humbly ask just a little more, that you may mention to your friends in other places a little about my novel. I thank you all so much for the aid so graciously given to me, and thank you in advance for what may come. David

Harold Titus (haroldtitus) My historical novel, "Crossing the River," is about the beginning of the Revolutionary War. It was published by booklocker.com in September 2011. (See http://booklocker.com/books/5692.html) This past month I dropped the ebook price to $4.99. E-book and paperback editions are available also at amazon.com.
http://www.amazon.com/Crossing-the-Ri...

You may read excerpts and other information on my blog site: http://authorharoldtitus.blogspot.com

Here is a synopsis.

700 elite soldiers of His Majesty’s Foot march through Lexington to Concord, Massachusetts, April 19, 1775, to seize and destroy military stores stockpiled there by the province’s illegally formed Provincial Congress. Nine militiamen are killed at Lexington, more death occurs at Concord’s North Bridge, and the army retreats to Boston, suffering 75 soldiers killed and 174 wounded by the day’s end.

"Crossing the River" narrates the internal conflicts, hubris, stupidity, viciousness, valor, empathy, and sacrifice of many of the historical day’s participants. It investigates simultaneously the cause and consequence aspects of high-risk decision-taking.

Three characters among many stand out.

Corporal John Howe is the personal servant of an infantry captain chosen to lead a two-officer spy mission to locate the stockpiled stores. Howe demonstrates useful attributes. Commanding General Thomas Gage pairs him with Colonel Francis Smith to conduct another covert reconnaissance. Howe completes the mission alone.

General Gage orders Howe to alert prominent Tories north of Boston of the intended Concord raid and then to ride to Concord to report what he has seen on the roads.

Howe is conflicted by his regard for Gage, his desire to achieve officer rank, his disdain for Tories and brutish army life, and his growing respect for independent-minded provincials.

Acton schoolmaster James Hayworth musters in the yard of his life-long friend and neighbor, Minuteman Captain Isaac Davis. Davis is the first man killed at Concord’s North Bridge. Enraged, Hayworth parallels the British army’s retreat, endeavoring to kill at every opportunity. Physically and emotionally spent, he rests beside a two-story, red-roofed house a mile west of Lexington.

The enormity of what he has committed overwhelms him. He longs for a return of normalcy. He wants to marry the remarkable young woman he covets. A looter leaves the house and disappears down the road. Leaving his place of safety to draw well water, James is challenged by a second looter.

Conniving Simon Winsett volunteers to be the third Lexington scout to ride down the moon-lit Menotomy road to locate General Gage’s advancing force. Rejected by his family and distrusted by most of the townspeople, Simon needs to demonstrate his core goodness. He is captured by the army’s advance scouts but later escapes.

He accepts his half-brother Samuel’s invitation to travel overland to fight the regulars two miles east of Menotomy. He, Samuel, and his brother John stop by the house of their father’s no-account cousin, Jason Winsett. They discover that Jason’s wife, who has recently given birth, is desperate to have her wandering six-year-old daughter Prudence located and brought home. Simon’s brothers search one side of nearby Spy Pond, where Prudence has likely strayed. Simon is told to search the other side. He discovers a deserted soldier hiding in a burrow.

"Crossing the River" is historically informative. Exploring human nature, it narrates the causes and consequences of individual decision-making.

Julie gave up on happily-ever-after when her parents died, the event when she became her little brother's guardian. After Billy broke her heart, pursuit of a husband just wasn't a priority. But, when her life is suddenly turned upside down, and danger makes a rare appearance in her small town, she's forced to deal with the last man she'd ever expect to be nice to her.
Jason had given up on a life with Julie after Billy stole her away. Unfortunately, trouble has come back to town, so he has to make sure that both Julie and her little brother are safe. But now that the past is hitting them both head on, Jason will have to convince Julie that he's the man she's been looking for all along.

Groovy Lee Hello, everyone

My name is Groovy Lee. I write clean romance novels for Kindle under my EverAfter Romance Series. I write about the traditional values of true love, marriage, and family, and yet my stories are filled with passion.

I also write from the woman's POV only. I do this because I feel it's more stirring when we guess at the man's intentions and actions rather than read it. I don't want to read what he's thinking, I want to feel it. I try to make you the heroine and you're not sure how he really feels about you until he admits it. (the old-school way of writing) I'm so excited to tell you about my three releases. Below is a description for them. I hope at least one of them peaks your interest.

This is a synopsis for my romance novel:

Under The Harvest Moon by Groovy Lee

LESLIE DIXON worries for her boss lying in the ICU of Destin’s Medical Center trying to recuperate from a heart attack. And until he recovers, she finds herself on a plane heading for the spacious countryside amid the rolling mountains of Nashville Tennessee. Home—the thought brings a smile to her face because it means she’ll spend quality time with her grandmother, DAISY. But her smile only lasts for a short minute as another image materializes: That of JONAS McCLURE, her only neighbor down the road, and also her biggest source of anguish.

Failing health and hard times forced her grandfather to sell most of the farmland to his family when she was nothing but pigtails and legs. And although she was able to form an instant connection with part of the McClure family, the most difficult to form anything with was Jonas. From the moment his twelve-year old eyes locked onto her, she knew the devilment instigating that smile would push her patience beyond the confines of civility.

A deep love for him was forged out of their childhood friendship: He’d chase her with a whopper of a spider; dare her to see who could throw the rock the furthest; or run the fastest down the road. As the years progressed, innocent games were supplanted by strange awakenings during her high-school years when the latest hairstyles replaced her braids and the curves of her body became more pronounced. His boyish teasing matured into lengthy stares when he thought she wasn’t aware, and his goading laughter evolved into the sweetest of smiles.

When she graduated college and Jonas was unquestionably by now, a full-grown man, she realized he would always be her one and only love. Jonas frightens her; moves her in ways no other man ever could. And yet, this was a love to keep hidden behind that big wall she built over the years; the reason she packed up everything and moved away to California.

But this long visit home will awaken those dormant feelings for him, especially when he makes it a habit to visit her grandmother on a daily basis. And true to form, the moment she arrives home, his lion-on-the-prowl game, where he loves circling her and forcing her to take evasive action, begins.

She’s been trying to contact her boyfriend, Kal, back in California. Safe, dependable Kal. If he were with her, Jonas would be less of a problem. Right? She hangs her head having realized the answer to that immediately. Since the day he welcomed her home and smiled his signature one-sided grin, old feelings she’d been running away from for so long came barreling forward. But, she was confident she’d be successful in pushing them back to that deep abyss—until that night he kissed her, and there was no running away anymore. She vowed that would never happen again. But Jonas has a willful streak, and true to his nature, vows are meant to be broken. Each time he’d pull her into his arms and incite a response, that dormant love threatens to awaken and shout out its existence. While her heart is more than willing to give in, her precautious senses know better. After all, she’s nothing but the neighbor down the road he likes to flirt and tease with; his sidekick. There will be no harvest moon nights for her.

In the middle of the anxiety of dealing with Jonas, Kal’s secretive mood and his strange disappearing acts are cause for concern. Jonas has become involved and sums it all up in one word: Embezzlement. But, Leslie can’t believe Kal would ever be involved in such a horrendous act. To her, an empty office and apartment only proves that his desire to relocate to Monte Carlo has become a reality. So, why is Kal keeping it all a big secret? And, why his insistence that she pack a few clothes and disappear under the secret shadows of the night? Still, that’s a small matter compared to Jonas who’s about to leap right over her wall. It seems her only option is to move back to California and keep those thousands of miles between them. But can she leave Daisy, again?

Kal has come out of hiding with trouble closing in quickly. Leslie has a big decision to make. Will it be the right one? And will Jonas be able to save her in time?

Here is a synopsis for my second romance novel:

Invitation to Love by Groovy Lee

Synopsis: Taryn Kimble has lost her job and is now about to lose her twin daughters Remi and Rachel. Her vengeful ex-father-in-law, Mac, has made his threat very clear: If she’s not employed, or miracles upon miracles, married in one week’s time, he’ll sue for custody of the girls—payback for the death of his son three years ago. A week! Why don’t he insist she walk on water, too?

When another job interview crumbles, and her anxiety continues to build, that miracle appears on her doorstep in the good-looking form of a good friend Michael Vande-xx. When he presents her with what he feels is the only solution, the one-two punch of a single word sends the room spinning. Marriage? Surely, there’s another way out of this nightmare. But the deadline is just about on her. It’s either marriage or watch her daughters being escorted from the courtroom by her in-laws.

She agrees to the union, but not the emotional entanglement that comes packaged with it: Love, passion, and a desire to share not only his bed, but his heart—completely. That moment arises when Michael whispers one single question in her ear. A question that changes her life forever and results in a night of pure bliss and fulfillment as their bodies unite in a rhapsody of passion. She realizes now that her life would be nothing without him and hopes he feels the same.

But, wait, his ex-fiancee, Karen, has returned and she has plans of her own.

I also write suspense, and here is the synopsis for my first release: Cause She's a Good Girl by Groovy Lee

SYNOPSIS: Piper Banion spent most of her eighteen years trying to do the impossible—gain her abusive mother’s love. But the older she gets, the more she realizes that a parent’s undying love is something you don’t have to vie for, compromise your principles for, nor beg for in your prayers. Connie will always see her as a “worthless burden”. Still, it was hard making that life-altering decision that freed Piper from the chains of her defective childhood.

After five years of wandering from one small town to the next, she finds a true friend in Shelly Jamison, a runaway mom, slash, devout party girl, and outspoken rebel against the rich and powerful—her family included. Following the not-so-surprising pink slips they received one Monday, coupled with the alley fight between her and Shelly’s boy-toy, Tomas, Piper finally gives in to her friend’s invitation to spend the summer at her family’s estate in Destin, California. At last, she gets to meet Shelly’s S.E.X.Y. cousin Oz Jamison.

Oz owns a PR firm in Seattle, Washington. Hardly a day goes by that he can’t turn a corner without being asked those headache-provoking questions: “Are you Prince? Would you sign my Purple Rain DVD? Touch my copy of your latest CD? Better yet, touch me instead?” With skin the color of smooth vanilla, and the sensual glint in those caramel-brown eyes, even a pledged virgin like Piper has to fight off the lure of his sexuality. She opts instead for a friendship based on their shared abusive backgrounds while he house-sits for his aunt and uncle during the summer.

Piper is determined to forge a better life in California. But the collective cries of nine murdered women reaching out to her from those weekly news bulletins suspends that task. Someone is killing all the women she comes into contact with, and there seems to be a connection. What is it? She doesn’t know, what she does know is that they all stared into the eyes of the Silk Stocking Serial Killer before they were murdered. Piper’s “pureness” was the trump card that enabled her to walk away from the rage that consumes him and the lives of his unsuspecting victims. But the next time they meet, a head start is all she’ll get.

In the chaos off trying to get away, she learns that Shelly has disappeared. A muffled voice over the phone claims responsibility; And it’s not the Silk Stocking Serial Killer who’s daring her to come rescue her friend.
