College of Magic discussion

New students are asked to come by the reception area of the student center first to get their room assignment and maybe meet some of the staff.

Jasper Winter strodes into the Reception Area as if he was a ghost. His movements were quiet and barely visible as he moved across the room. His features were beautiful and almost unnatural as a paleness covered the majority of his entire being. He was wearing an outfit that was oudated yet he seemed to make the outfit worked for him. Once he was at the front of the desk , he makes sure his fangs are well hidden before he spoke in a musical , deep voice. "I was directed to come to the building to recieve my room key and whatever other information "Jasper make sure he came off as detached and distance from the secretary at the desk.

"Name?" the secretary asked in a tired voice. At least that should be all she would need to ask as she could look up his preferences for single or double room once she brought him up on the computer. Assuming, of course, he had actually filled out and returned that form. Not everyone did. Luckily, they hadn't had that many requests for single rooms this year so there were still several available.

((Would he want a single room or would a double be okay?))

"My name is Jasper Winter"Jasper was practical in his answering the secretary. He shallows hard after his eyes had darted to the visible vein of her neck. The smooth soft skin was the right textile for his fangs to sink into. He wonders whether she was an type B or A blooded, and he guessed she was a type A by her behavioral. A longing hunger look came into his blueish eyes as he rejected the idea of draining the secretary of her blood.

"Thank you." The secretary typed his name into the computer and smiled as his information came up. He had requested a single room, not surprising given his perfect looks and cold manner.

"You will be in Dragon, room 102," she said, handing him the key. "You can finalize your schedule by computer or by phone. Classes start a week from Monday."

"Room 102"Jasper repeated in a rapid voice fearing that she had noticed his eyeing her in a hungry manner. He blinks the reddiness he knew had highlighted his blue irises away, and gives the secretary a small nod of his head. Upon hearing her last comment concerning classes, he turns from the desk. He walks away in the manner he had came. He was feeling a tap to weak as he leaft the building and the rays of sunlight had hit him full blast. I need to get to the darkness of my room. I'm almost at my limit hereJasper jumps into the air using the shadows for cover as he leaves the Reception Area.

"A strange one," the secretary whispered, shaking her head. "Not the first strange one, probably won't be the last or the strangest. Why did I take this job again?"

Scarlett Redwood walks into the Reception Center with her head held up height and not a inch of fear in her eyes. Her eyes wanders around the room slowly taking in everything with an a sense of wonder and awe. A nice place to start as any I suppose Scarlett spots an woman,a human by the looks of it, and she walks over to her. "Hello"

"Hello," Lena said, smiling over at the girl. "Name, please." Now this girl looked interesting, her clothes at least.

Olivia walked into the Student Center, then followed the signs to Reception to check in. She stopped a few feet behind the girl standing at the desk and waited her turn.

((Single or double for Scarlett? If she's in double, Liv will be her roommate. ^_^ ))

"My name" Scarlett was a bit caution toward giving out. I suppose I have to give out my name. I mean how else would I receive a room "Scarlett Redwood"The close presence of another behind her had caused her to glance over her shoulders. Another being. How nice She looks back at the woman at the desk.

Lena typed the name into the computer, smiling as her information came up, and had no problems. "Thank you, Miss Redwood. You will be Unicorn, room 103. You can finalize your schedule by computer or by phone. Classes start a week from Monday."

She picked up the envelope marked 'Unicorn, floor 1' and dumped out the keys within. She kept both of the ones marked 103 out, having noticed another girl come in. Chances are, the two would be roommates. "Here is your key."

Scarlett took the keys that was handed to her from the woman over the counter. For a moment, Scarlett studied the key with a puzzled expression on her face. So these are used to open doors. I must have been away for way to long Looking up from the key, Scarlet nods her head at Lena. "I'll be sure to do just that. I guess I'm off to look around" She gave Lena a wink of the eye as she is turning to leave the center. On her way out she spots the maps of the school. She stops and puts one up "I'm taking this as well" She calls over her shoulder. She walks out into the warm outside.

"Okay," Lena called as the girl walked out with a map in hand. "Didn't she get one of those in the mail?" she muttered to herself. She looked up and smiled at the next girl in line.

"Olivia Fullerton," Liv said as she stepped up to the desk. She'd entered the room just as the receptionist had asked for the other girl's name, so she knew she would need to give her name.

"Thank you, Miss Fullerton." Lena entered the name into the computer. "You will be in Unicorn, room 103, with Miss Redwood, the young lady who just left." She picked up the second key labeled '103' and sat it on the counter. "Here's your key. You can finalize your schedule by computer or by phone. Classes start a week from Monday."

"Thank you, Ma'am," Liv said as she picked up the key. She put the key in her pocket and headed back out into the student center. Spotting a directory, she went to look at it. She smiled when she saw the entry for the roof: garden, picnic area, star-gazing. Closes at 2 am. A garden would be nice, and it was almost nightfall, so that would be a nice place to watch the sunset. She looked around for the stairs.

The first lights of night fall has come with the last rays of day. The room of the Reception took on an misty coolness that gazed across the room as if the room air condition wasn't working property, except the chill came from the front door. An dark faint shadow stood at the door of the entrance for several minutes.

The door opened slowly to give way to the opaque presence of Draven. He walk across the room in an causal manner and up to the counter. He places his arm on the top of the counter. He smiles with his mouth closed at Lena. He looks straight into her eyes as if he was trying to capture her very soul."Hello, you are one lovely lady, I must say. How did you ever get a job where you have to work those beautiful hands of your to death?" Draven could smell Jasper scent even strongly now.

Lena shivered at the sound of the voice addressing her. "Are you a student, sir?" she asked politely. "If so, I need your name please." If not, why the hell are you here? You creepy, creepy man.

Draven chuckles to himself as he had heard her thoughts. "That wasn't very nice. I'm not a student, but I am one of the professors here" He smiles her way as his eyes took on an hypnotic gaze. "I'm here to gain some information on a certain vampire. He is name is Jasper Winter"

"I'm sorry, sir. I can not give out information about students." She felt weird, like she was losing control of her body and mind. She just had the presence of mind to hit the panic button before his hypnotism took over.

"Of course, sir," Lena said, smiling. She put the name he'd specified into the computer. "Jasper Winter is in Dragon dorm, room 102. Is there anything else you wish to know, sir?"

((The panic button is something I just came up with. I'm thinking it will summon security and/or the dean. But I also expect Draven will be long gone before anyone comes into the office. Lena likely won't even remember pushing it. ^_^ ))

Draven had frowned when he read the last thought of Lena before his power took over. Damn human. I'll come back and drain her laterHe was becoming impatient as he watched Lena searched for the information. He didn't take his eyes from her, but he could heard the security running along the smooth hard ground toward the Reception center.He smiled sweetly as Lena yells him what he wanted to know. So, he is here and he already have a room too. That's very good "No but thank you" He used his enhanced speed to flee the area just before the guard even entered the room.He could hear his powers wearing off as the young woman came to her senses as his power fades from her Once outside, he walks up the side of the building and steps onto the roof. He walks in the direction of the Dragon dorms.

Lena fell back against her chair with a massive headache. She looked up at the sound of security entering the room. She frowned, wondering why they were here. Had she actually hit the panic button? She didn't remember doing so, but she could have when this headache started.

She dismissed them, apologizing for having made them come out here for no reason. She put her elbows on either side of her keyboard and put her head in her hands, turning off the monitor in hopes that would help her headache.

Sam slowing walked in, gazing at the surrounding before her. She walked up to the secretary, unsure about what to do.

Lena smiled at the young girl approaching the desk. "Can I help you, hun? Are you a student here?" She looks like she's in high school. Or maybe middle school. At any rate, she looks far too young to be in college.

"Well...uh..." Sam didn't like talking to random people. "Is the secretary here. I just arrived. I think this is the right place that I'm supposed to go.....I need to get my room number and whatever else I need to get started." She said softly.

Lena chuckled softly. "I am the secretary, hun. You're in the right place. Name, please?" Wow, she sounds young too. Poor thing. I bet she's terrified.

((I need to make a profile for Lena. I meant to do so, but I haven't yet. Oops.))

"Sam Azure." She stated. Her head barely showed above the desk. "Why am I always shorter then other people? Now I'm barely taller then a desk!" She thought.

"Sam? Is that short for Samantha?" Lena asked. She had already started typing in her name that way, so she hoped her guess was correct. "Ah, yes, here you are." She smiled.

"Uh, yes." Sam replied in a soft voice. The while she watched Lena type the letters, she accidentally read her mind. Something about being really young and scared. Sam shook the thoughts from her head. People always thought about her like that.

"Thank you. Miss Azure, you will be in Unicorn, room 101 with Fiona NiDhomniall." She grabbed the envelope full of keys and dumped it into her hand. She quickly sorted through the pile, pulling out one marked '101'.

"Here's your key," she said, laying the key on the desk. "You can finalize your schedule by computer or by phone. Classes start a week from Monday."

"Oh, thanks. Which way do I go?" Sam asked. "This is my time here. So, I don't where anything is. I still don't know where the entrance is as well."She added.

((That reminds me. I need to finish the campus map I was working on... o.O ))

"Oh, of course, hun. There's a stack of maps right by the door. Take one of those.

"To get to your dorm from here, just turn right out of this office, take the exit by the stairs, turn left, and it should be about fifty yards away. There's a big statue of a unicorn out front, so it's pretty easy to find." She glanced towards the windows. "But it's starting to get dark, so you may want to hurry. Campus itself should be safe enough, but don't go near the hedge maze."

"Ok, thanks." She turned around. She left the office and turned right. "The stairs, the stairs. Oh there they are." She then turned left and saw the unicorn statue. She kept walking until she reached her room.

Briea got out of the taxi at the student center. She asked the driver to please meet her at the girl's dorm, showing him it's location on the map. He agreed, she thanked him and went inside. She followed the signs to reception and went inside. No one else was waiting, so she went up to the desk. "Ma'am?" she said, trying to get the secretary's attention.

Lena yawned softly and turned to face the newcomer. She's cute. But she looks really young, too. Maybe I'm just getting old.

"Yes, Miss? How can I help you?"

"I'm here for my room assignment. Briea Lightfire." She watched as the woman entered her name into the computer, and took a key out of an envelope.

"I see you've requested a single room. You'll be in Unicorn, room 102. You can finalize your schedule by computer or by phone. Classes start a week from Monday."

"Thank you, Ma'am," Briea said with a small smile. She turned to leave.

Raze Samson walks into the building. "This place looks to clean for me. How annoying" Raze makes a point in saying this where anyone could hear him. Turning his head to look around the room, he was already frowning with having to come here became some Sherman had suggested, in an very demanding way, that he comes to the school. Next time I see that guy or that damn elf female,I'm going to break both of their necks. Yes, the Sherman had help making Raze come to the college thanks to the powers of Dean Ilivarra.

Raze was so lost in his thoughts that he did not see the girl know as Briea walking straight in his direction. He had walked on and he smacks dead into her causing her to fall to the ground. He looks down annoyed. "Why don't you watch where you're going!?"

Briea shrieked when she was knocked over, her skirt flying up to reveal her black lace panties. She glared up at the perpetrator. "Yeah, like you were watching where you were going. Jerk." Good God, he's hot. Cute is too mild a word. She glanced down and blushed to see her skirt had flown up. She quickly fixed it, blushing even brighter as she did so.

Instead of asking him for help, as she normally would have if he hadn't been so rude to her, she stood up on her own, groaning softly as she put weight on her ankle. "Damn it," she muttered. Her ankle had twisted in the fall. It wouldn't take long for it to be fine, but she would be hobbling for several minutes. She moved to walk around the large, muscular obstacle in front of her.

Raze cocked an eyebrow as he saw her panties. He was still anger and her calling him a jerk did not lessen that thou him getting to see what was hidden under her skirt did catches his interest. His eyes had wandering from her skirt up to her not bright rosy face. He watched her standing up weirdly, and his eyes searched for a reason as to why. It did not talk him long t figure out that her ankle was twisted. He glanced the other way for a few seconds.

He muttered something about her being in his way as he ran a hand through his hair. He walks over to her and took her arm and swings it around his neck. He wasn't aware of the social comfort zone rule. "Look, I'm sorry about that. To make up let me help you" Raze was annoyed that he had to help someone, but he didn't mind helping her. He just didn't like to show it. She smells nice.

Briea started when he took her arm. She'd seen his approach, but hadn't expected this. Oh, God, he's warm. So warm. This feels right. Damn him. He even smells good. Really good. Too good. Damn it. "Oh, um, okay. Thanks," she said, smiling over at him.

Lena watched the pair with interest. They'd gotten off to a bad start, but she was pretty sure that wouldn't last long. The way they looked at each other reminded her of the way Ashton had looked at her the first night they met. That night had gotten very interesting, and had led to their happily ever after. She couldn't help but wonder if they might be headed the same way.

"I was heading for my dorm room," Briea said. "But since you're here, you should go ahead and get your room assignment and key. I can sit in a chair and wait while you do that." I wonder how long I can stretch this out? I shouldn't, but damn I want to. I want him with me.

(Oo look her demon side is showing-wait til Draven get wind of that-his demon and all:DThey would be a troublesome pair if he could get her on his side)

Raze helps her over to a chair. He mention of him getting his room key and all had resurfaced those negative emotions he had felt early about coming to this college in the first place. He still wanted to break they necks, and he even hoped this place had a fighting ring or something he could use to take his anger out on. "Yea, I probably should" He mutters something else about having to walk her to her room. Muttering was a habit of his that seemed to be accomplished by complaining when he didn't have too.

He strode over to the desk and half glares at Lena. "So my room key." He remembers hearing Briea speak her name to the woman earlier. "Raze Samson" He glanced back at Briea for a quick second. Maybe this place isn't so bad at all.

Briea smirked when she heard his mutter about having to walk her to her room. Yeah, yeah. You weren't complaining when you were looking at my panties. Perv. Damned hot perv, though. She smiled when she saw him look back at her.

Lena looked over at the young man, a bit surprised by the glare. She turned to the computer as she typed in his name, smiling a bit. He obviously didn't want to be here, but he was interested enough in the girl Briea to put up with more than he might otherwise.

"You're be in Dragon, room 101 with Seamus NiDhomniall. You can finalize your schedule by computer or by phone. Classes start a week from Monday." She laid the key on the desk and smiled at him.

Raze had taken the key from Lena. He looks at the key. His thought shifted to why was his roommate. He hoped he didn't have some crazy person that he would have to just about beat to get his way. Turning, "What will happen if I forget to finalize my schedule" He thought flashed back to the Dean who in a letter that she would be watching him. He frowned and muttered something else that couldn't be heard. He walks back over to Briea without another word to Lena.

"Let's get this over with" He once again takes her by the arm and swings it behind his neck. He easily pick her up and start to walk with her. He let her leads thou as he was unsure of where to go. They walks out of the building.

"I don't know," Lena said as he turned away. What an odd question. I wonder why he's acting that way. She shook her head and turned back to her computer, clearing the screen and beginning work on the paperwork for the new students.

Briea scoffed at his remark. "You don't have to help me, you know. I'll be fine on my own," she said as they were walking out of the building. She pointed to the unicorn statue, "There's my dorm."

Sofia walked into the room with Andrew close behind, watching her carefully as if something could happen to her at any second. She smiled at the Secretary as she walked over to the desk, putting her stuff down.

Andrew stood next to her and looked around "this is a really nice place" he whispered mostly to himself "I am not surprised Mother suggested it" His accent was heavy and it was obvious they had not been in the states for very long.

Lena looked up from the paperwork she'd almost finished when she heard the sound of things hitting the floor. There were people in and out of this office so much that she'd learned to mostly tune out the door opening and closing. She smiled at the two young people before her, thinking the young man looked a little old to be a new student. Maybe he's a transfer. Or he took a gap year. Or three from the looks of it.

"Can I help you two? If you're students, I'll need your names so I can look you up."

Kaden stepped into Reception just in time to hear the secretary say that. I'm not registered yet. I won't be in the computer. I need to find my aunt. He glanced around the room, smiling when he saw a stack of campus maps. He picked one up and unfolded it. Once he figured out where he was, he began to look for his aunt's office. She was the dean, so that should be labeled. He thought. He sighed, not seeing a label for 'dean's office'. What building would it be in, though, he wondered: Administration? Or something less obvious?

Knowing the drow as he did, he guessed it would be somewhere less obvious. So he'd have to ask. Lovely. I have to wait in line behind these two... cats? Or whatever they are. He looked over the girl standing at the desk and slowly smiled. At least there's something pretty for me to look at while I wait. I wonder if she's his girl or his sister. Sister, I hope. I'd like to get her alone somewhere. He licked his lips as his eyes flashed briefly red.

Emily opened her mouth to speak but Andrew put a hand on her head, interrupting her "Andrew and Sofia Hurst" he said simply. "we would like our classes to match up if you could" he said simply, though he knew the request was already made long before. "I would greatly appreciate that" he said with a warm, charming smile, the same one he used to get what he wanted back in England, it had always worked, except maybe on his parents.

Emily smiled up at him "It would be nice to have our classes together" she said excitedly , it seemed fairly normal to her when her brother was like this, despite the odd looks the got "Then we could eat lunch together also, right?" she asked, giving a childish smile, much different then someone in her age group.

Since you didn't specify single rooms, they'll be in double rooms.))

Well, damn, Kade thought. It looked like they were together as a couple, from the way they were acting. A married couple, since they have the same last name. Strange for modern humans to marry so early, though. Maybe they have a child together. He paced to the chairs against the wall and back while he waited for his turn.

Lena started to type in the names just as he said them, then stopped after the typed the 'and'. She frowned and erased it before filling in the last name. "Okay, Mr. Hurst. You are in Dragon, room 105." She dumped out the envelop marked 'Dragon, Floor 1' and sorted through it for a key. She laid the key on the desk.

She changed the first name to Sofia and looked up her information. "Miss Hurst, you will be in Unicorn, room 105." She repeated the key finding process and put her key on the desk as well. "Here are your room keys.

"You can finalize your schedule by computer or by phone. Classes start a week from Monday."

Sofia nodded and pocketed the key before looking up at Andrew and smiled "could you please walk me to my room?" she asked as she moved his hand off of her head "I don't like walking alone" she said softly before turning slowly. "and maybe help me unpack?" she asked, I have quiet a few things" she said

Andrew smiled "Thank you" he said to Lena, "Our Mother was right, the staff here are very polite." he commented before nodding at Sophia "Of course" he said with a smile "Lead the way" he said, picking up her heavy bag along with his own. Glancing over and giving Kade a polite smile and a nod as he was taught to do with strangers.

Kaden grinned to himself when he heard the boy say 'our mother'. Perfect. They are siblings. He hurried to open the door for them, and gave Sofia his most charming smile.

"You are quite welcome. Have a wonderful day," Lena said with a smile. She cleared the girl's information from her screen and picked up fresh paperwork. While they walked out, she began to fill out the papers. The other boy would be back in just a few seconds, she knew, so she didn't try to do too much, just names and room numbers.

Sophia looked over and blushed a little but gave a slight nod "Nice to meet you" she said softly, holding out her hand for him to shake "My name is Sophia" she said with a gentle smile. "are you new here also?" she asked, felling her brother's eyes watching her carefully.

Andrew watched his sister, something that always seemed to work to detour boys, though he knew with separate rooms that he could no longer watch over her 24/7 so it was going to be harder to keep them away from her. He really didn't like the idea, in his mind she was still too young to be dating.

Kaden took her hand, but did not shake it. Instead, he lifted her hand to his mouth and kissed the back of it. "Sofia, a beautiful name for a beautiful girl," he murmured as he pulled his head back up.

"Yes, Miss Sofia, I am new here as well. It was wonderful to meet you. Perhaps we will see each other around? I understand you and your brother need to get moved in, and I do as well. So, for now, I bid you farewell. I look forward to our next meeting, my dear," he said with a bow.

Sofia's face turned beat red as she watched him, he was truly breath taking, but she could already feel Andrew's disapproving glare at her back "Y...yes" she whispered softly "I will see you around" she said before giving him a tiny smile. He was very sweet indeed. She turned, watching him walk off. before turning to Andrew "Lighten up" she said with a giggle "It is not like he made out with me...it was just a small kiss on the hand is all, a kind gesture"

Andrew glared at Kaden as he interacted with Sofia. In his opinion he was doing a lot more then 'greeting' her. He let out a very soft, almost inaudible growl, making a face at his formal language, giving a tiny, accomplished smirk as he watched Kaden walk away. "I can't help it...a pretty girl like you, who knows how many guys want to take advantage of you, especially in a strange place."

((Okay. I'm pretty sure that's what you used in her profile anyway. ^_^ ))

Kaden damn near growled back at the other boy. He figured he was just being protective of his sister, but growling at a demon - or a drow for that matter - is never a good idea. He stood up from his bow and went back into the office. He had a potential date and a potential enemy in just a handful of minutes. The boy, he wasn't worried about - if worse came to worse, he could easily be taken care of. The girl, on the other hand, he found interesting. She looked like an adult, but she acted more like a child. That would make her easy prey. If he decided to go that way.

He sauntered up to the desk. "Good morning, Miss. Will you please tell me where I might find the dean? I have a meeting with her, but I misplaced the directions to her office."

Lena smiled. This young man had nice manners. "Certainly. The dean's office is in the administrative building just across the parking lot. Go right out of the room, take the exit by the stairs and you'll see the building across the way. I don't think she's there yet, though. If you'd like, I can call and find out for you."

"Thanks for the offer, but I think I shall use this opportunity to explore the campus for a while before my meeting. Thanks again, Miss." He bowed to her and turned to leave.

I wonder if I can catch up with that girl before she gets to her dorm. Now, which way did they go out of here?
