Andrew Bakhit | 1 comments In the introduction to the new edition of Afghanistan Picture Show WTV mentions a lecture he gave at Deep Springs in 2002, anyone know where a transcript of that lecture could be found?

Nathan "N.R." Gaddis (nathannrgaddis) | 734 comments Not quite sure. From the Ohio State Archive at http://library.osu.edu/finding-aids/r... I see two items from Deep Springs ; a lecture on The Royal Family in 2001/2 (really, only an invitation for the lecture) and what appears to be a transcript of "Some Thoughts on Neglected Water traps" (date?) which was printed in the book "The Students of Deep Springs College" and republished in Expelled from Eden ;; but neither seems to be what he's talking about in the Picture Show preface.

Nathan "N.R." Gaddis (nathannrgaddis) | 734 comments Deep Springs is where Bill got some schoolin'. It also serves as the model for the school/society in YBARA.

A new book about Deep Springs and its founder, Nunn, with a Foreword by Bill ::
The Electric Edge of Academe: The Saga of Lucien L. Nunn and Deep Springs College ----Also probably recommended for fans of Pynchon's Against the Day (see blurb).

Also of interest, with Bill's Afterword, "Some Thoughts on Neglected Water Taps", included in Expelled from Eden ::
The Students of Deep Springs College.
