Yay! Country fans are so hard to find these days. Toby Keith, Gary Allan, Eric Church, Randi Hauser.

Yeah, I like McGraw. I like Where The Green Grass Grows.

A lot of country singers are close to God and base their songs off of real people and experiences. But, it's only modern country for me I don't really listen to classic country, except when I'm in Branson Missouri. Upbeat country is the way to go, why don't you check out Carrie Underwood? She has a great voice.

Yeah, I get so sick of people judging country music. You really can't even read a book without someone making a jab at it.
Yeah, I like modern country, too. The only "classic" I like is Johnny Cash.
Carrie Underwood's good. I'm a big fan of Gary Allan right now.

omg ikr? Country is awesome and some people don't give it a chance. I mean people are entitled but at least, they should try it first you know? Another good country song: This kiss by Faith Hill

Do you mean you don't like the way the singer's voices sound or the way the instruments sound? because, for me, before I liked it, I wasn't too keen on the singers southern drawls but then I realized it's normal Because a majority of country artists are from the South. That's why a lot of people don't consider Taylor Swift to be country because she's from Pennsylvania, and not a southern state.
@Narnian: Yeah, some people just won't give it a chance, but not only that, they judge it, too.
That's a good Faith Hill song.

ok
@Paigetwo: the overallness... lol!!! I know what you mean, but thing is: it's all different. Just the same as Christian music is all different.
What would you say if someone said they just didn't like Christian music because it all sounds like something you'd hear at church?

Mojo made some good points.
Paigetwo *Caitlyn* wrote: "I would tell them that I like it and yea, maybe it does and that's ok."
But it doesn't, lol. You think you would ever hear Rawkfist during worship at church? It isn't that it all sounds the same, it's that people have bought into that idea and never given it a fair enough chance to see what it's really like.
Country has uplifting songs, upbeat songs, romantic songs, and yes, slow depressing songs. It also has some very poetic songs.

It's a matter of taste, really.Mind you, I don't pay much attention to genre. If I like it, I like it. If I don't, then I don't. However, some genres are difficult for me to get into. I have several CD's that I listen to maybe once a year, once a decade... because I really have to be in *that* mood to appreciate them.

Right, for me, it depends on the lyrics. I can listen to a song with any instrument, what the artists put into the song is what matters to me. I don't like songs that only talk about sex, strippers or drugs. I prefer words that make you think, based on a story or real experience, things like that. Also, singer/songwriters are great because they create what they want to instead of milking what their producers write for them.
Oh, aye, content is pretty important. But for me, if the music itself is not unique and feels like a copycat of some other artist's work, I very quickly lose interest. And if I just plain don't like the style, that really puts a damper on things.Strangely, I've found that my musical tastes have changed drastically over the years. I haven't found it in my heart to say that I "like" country music yet, though... lol. One of the things I have also discovered is that I sometimes like music more when a friend introduces me to it. Not always... but sometimes.
For me I also put on the right genre of music for how I'm feeling or what I'm doing. Oldies with my parents and family, dance when I'm working out, pop rock when I'm surfing the web, etc., it just depends on what I feel like.

Oh, so just to prove my point from before, there is a song that is Christian Country, and I'm not really crazy about it. My family likes it. I could care.less. Its:
