I loved it too. I also thought they did a pretty good job on the movie. Briony is dispicable (in both)!

Emilee, I agree, this book was beautifully writte. It is definitely one of my favorite books of all time. :)With Briony, I hated her, but then I felt sorry for her.
Great read! The movie is great too! (I'm I am very picky about book to movie adaptations! lol)
I think the book is beautifully written but I wish I hadn't seen the movie first. The movie was so faithful to the book for the first two thirds that I felt like I was re-reading something I just finished and got bored with it.
That's why I always try to read books before I watch the movies. I feel that if I watch the movie first, I won't want to read the book. lol
Everyone I know loves this book, but me. Maybe I read it with the wrong frame of mind or something, but I just did not like this book.
I read the book after the movie, but I liked the book better. It's so descriptive and rich that I literally felt part of it.
I didn't hate Briony. Obviously she was flawed, but she was only a child.

I believe this is one of the most perfectly written novels in the last 30 years- right down to the title. The prose is exquisite, and the structure of the novel is ingenious without being contrived.A masterpiece.
Saturday and Chesil Beach are also incredible.
I started watching the movie, but decided to wait until my hands get to that book. I'd like to read it very much.
