I didn't look that up, haha. I read right over it. I really like this book, and the author's writing is really easy for me to follow along with. What do others think?

These chapters needed to be or we would not know any history! I love the bond that Isa and her sisters had and to have that ripped away was so sad! I think that her father just lost it and then seemed like there was no turning back after that and thus life changed for them all. Sisters wanting to know why Isa had not called them Sad! Sister kicking and biting the judge!!
Her Mother shows up after being gone so long and then once again disappointment occurs. Sad that at such a young age any child should have to witness her mother in this shape. And to have her grandmother be so angry with her mother heartbreaking just when she needed some support there was none, and for her grandmother to also be mad at her. And for no one to recognize that Isa was having problems dealing with all of these changes and to feel responsible for her mother on her own.

My favorite scene is in Chapter 4 when Evie drooled on Pinky.

I love this quote on ch 4 "In the depth of winter , I finally learn that there was within me am invisible summer ."because it my opinion , it describes Issa in the beginning of the book :)

My fave part of these chapters where Claudia, Isa's mom came back home bringing Husband#2 and introduced him to Isa, whom didn't hesitate welcoming him with open arms as he did the same.
"I just knew right there that Dad#2 was going to be the best dad ever."

On Pinky it just showed to me how these sisters can be with each other and yes Evie was a brat but it showed how close they were even then.

Hi Sheenz! Well, Cebu is just 1 of the 7k islands in the Philippines. It's a very beautiful place. Been there with my family when I was a kid and now I just want to go back there for a weekend getaway and bring my fave (TLITW) book with me <3
