1. Smith, Roland. Jack's Run. New York: Hyperion for Children, 2005. Print.
2. This book really had a great plot , and would definitely make a great movie. For some of you that don't know this book is actually a sequel to the book "Zach's Lie". Basically the father of the protagonist has gotten into some trouble with a very important problem. He was arrested and put in jail for drug trafficking . After this three men broke into Jack's house and threatened to kill Jack and his family if Jack's dad didn't keep his mouth shut about all the information he knew about the drug cartel he worked for. Hearing this Jack's dad made a deal with the government to protect his family in exchange for information of the drug cartel. By the way the leader of the drug cartel is named Alonzo Aznar. Well this Alonzo Aznar manged to find the family even when they were in a witness security program, and so he kidnapped them forcing Jack's dad to come after them. To sum it up they captured Alonzo Aznar and stopped the cartel. Then everyone lived happily ever after. Anyways the ending of this story was a relief because it took away all the suspense and worries and replaced it with a nice happily ever after ending. It is satisfying because all the drama ends. They finally put a stop to Alonzo the drug cartel leader after two books! Not only that but Jack also gets to see his girlfriend at the end, his sister Joanne gets to become what she's always wanted to be, his father is a free man and now works with Jack's mother to help and put away other bad people. So the ending is an ending i would categorize as a "happy ending".
3. The character i admire the most would be Jack Osborne which is the main character. I admire him because he is no ordinary teenager. He is smart, brave, and tough. There are several acts of his characteristics but for now let's stick with this passage from page 228-229 : " ...Jack took a step forward and winced in pain. " What's the matter, Jack?" Patricia (hi mom) asked. " Sprained ankle," he said. Dr. Pavlov lifted his pant leg and shook his head. " Not sprained. Broken." " We'll drive the limo to the airfield," Sam said. Neil (Jack's dad)handed his rifle to Sam. " you carry this. I'll carry Jack." " I can walk," Jack protested. This basically shows how strong Jack is because he thought he sprained his leg when he actually broke it. What makes him strong is that his sister was being held hostage in a building close to him so he actually walked there and saved his sister. This quote actually happened right after they were done capturing all the bad guys and after Jack rescued his sister. In conclusion I think you should read this book because it is really suspenseful and cool.
