I wanted to start a thread for the non fiction books that are getting a lot of attention. For starters I thought we could take a look at Imprisoned: The Betrayal of Japanese Americans during World War II. Has anyone read this one? What did you think of it?

Richie Partington (richiespicks) | 112 comments But my favorite nonfiction booktalk of the year remains LINCOLN'S GRAVE ROBBERS by Steve Sheinkin. And I'm still unclear whether it is considered 2012 (as listed on the copyright page) or 2013 (which is when it apparently was released).

Mary HD (marymaclan) | 100 comments Are you considering poetry or folk/fairy tales as non-fiction?

Jennifer | 52 comments How about picture books? I really loved On a Beam of Light.

I really liked this book, too. My copy lists a 2013 published date.

This is a difficult question. It really does depend on the book.

Becky (harperreads) I really loved Courage Has No Color about the Triple Nickles, the first black paratroopers. I have not read the others.

Great review!

Jess (jessmonster) | 80 comments I really liked Lincoln's Grave Robbers, and I recently looked at Eruption!: Volcanoes and the Science of Saving Lives and thought it was incredibly compelling - although I was so caught up in the book that I wasn't really looking at it with my Newbery glasses.

John Yingling | 5 comments I thought Lincoln's Grave Robbers was outstanding, and want to read Imprisoned: the Betrayal of Japanese-Americans During World War II. I'm always interested in hearing about what nonfiction titles other people are reading.

Christine | 18 comments I just finished The Nazi Hunters How a Team of Spies and Survivors Captured the World's Most Notorious Nazi by Neal Bascomb . I'm not sure if it is award eligible since the author has a similar adult title. But it is a great NF for grades 5 and up.

Jenna (jenna_marie58) | 17 comments I also really liked The Mystery of Darwin's Frog! It was very interesting, and the photos and illustrations really added to it.
