99.9% Sure We're Gonna Win (9)
Trying to think up some names and here's a few Cat O' 9 Readers
La Niña
99.9% Sure We're Gonna Win
The Niners
I sent a pm to Diana this morning. She's pretty good about checking in so I bet we hear from her today. I probably shouldn't be captain. It's not PC with me being the one to maintain the spreadsheet. Any other name ideas or preferences?
I will be a captain if nobody else wants to do it. I have a very open schedule at home so it wouldn't be a problem
Well then Amy I think from reading the comments that you have been elected to captain---perhaps you could add a captain hat to your profile image! I think is is great that you volunteered and would be honored to serve with you!
I realize that we need a shorter name than I offered--no problem. I, too, like the 99.9%---reminds me of the Ivory Snow commercial from my childhood 99 and 44/100% pure!
Hi Everyone,Checking in! I like 99% too! Thanks Amy for being Captain! So are we all ready. I think you should know I don't read too many series but I have read some. I most likely will do the alternate reads.
I agree I have some series but I like all the alternatives so I have a good feeling we will do great!
The key to this one is shorter books lol. I've already nixed any that are over 400 pages that I've had my eye on.
Is there a particular way we are to post are reviews?Or do we post: bookcover, book title, author, date completed, rating, and then a few lines on how we like the book.
I put up a review example in the discussion thread. The link talk was for the captain turning it in. In fact it would probably make it easier on you Amy if we post after you roll and go ahead and put our book in then just edit that post once we're finished. That way you won't have to scramble last minute to get it together.
Sounds great with Amy for captain! Can't wait to get started :)
And Jenne, just to be absolutely sure: we just have to be finished by Thursday and Sunday, right? Meaning even if we're all done on Tuesday (after rolling on Sunday), we still have to wait with starting our new books until Thursday, right?
But we can roll as soon as the reviews are in, so we can be prepared for when the "next start" comes around, right?
:)
That's right Camilla! Personally I'm going to try to have my reviews in no later than the day before.
So, just to get to know each other a bit:- I'm Camilla (obviously!), I'm 32 and married with no kids
- I live in Barcelona, Spain, but am originally from Denmark (so my time zone is Central US minus 7 hrs - it's currently 3.25 pm here)
- I do read series, but not a lot of the "long" ones, so I'll likely be doing a lot of the alternatives (unless it's 1-3 in series) :)
To add to our knowledge of each other:I am Wanda and I live in Starke, Florida which is a small rural town in Northeast Florida about 45 miles south of Jacksonville which is Eastern time zone
I have been married for 46 years with a daughter and son and two fantastic grandsons.
I do read series - mostly historical fiction and mystery.
I recently retired after being a high school teacher and administrator for 35 years--I taught History which explains the historical fiction.
I am looking forward to this challenge with my teammates.
And here's my bit :)I'm fixing to celebrate my 10th annual 25th bday lol.
I live in East Texas in the middle of nowhere with my hubby and our two boys. We have a daughter as well that has recently made the transition into the working world. She managed to graduate early and now lives with my grandparents helping them out now that my Grandma is in a wheelchair. I read nothing but series for the most part. Lots and lots of UF and PNR.
Jenne,I need some clarification. Do we roll the dice when we finish so we can find another book or does the captain roll for use when all the reviews have been submitted?
The captain will roll on Thursday and Sunday after all of us are done. The captains will turn in the previous spots reads along with the new roll. Once Amy has rolled she'll let us know here too and we can start reading.
Jenne wrote: "The captain will roll on Thursday and Sunday after all of us are done."OK, I thought they could roll in advance (if we finished say a day early), but we just couldn't start reading until Thursday/Sunday?
But we/the captain have to wait until the day to roll as well regardless of when we finish then?
Jenne wrote: "Yeah we have to wait. :("OK - well, I'm sure we'll do just fine - can't wait to get going :)
Well since everyone else went I am Amy! I am 26 married to my best friend. In live in a small town in Pennsylvania called Kulpmont. I am a stay at home mom. My husband is a professional fighter and we travel alot
I love to read and I do read series but not big ones. I am currently working on the Stephanie plum series so that is a big one! Can't wait to help out on this challenge!
I really want to get my 13 yr old into Ju jitsu. He'll be a black belt in Shorin Ryu karate by the end of this year. When he spars he tries to implement Ju jitsu moves he's seen on UFC. He can only spar adults now because no other kid up there can handle him even the 17 and 18 yr olds. Unfortunately there aren't any Ju jitsu dojos nearby. My 8 yr old is a second degree green belt even though they both started a couple of years ago at the same time Hunter has really advanced fast.
That is horrible! Their is a lot of schools out here. You will find it hard for children to train bc a lot of people don't know about it. I think we have the only kid class around I hope you can find one! My children love it!
