Let me join you - I was aware only of The Lost City of Z, because I've read Fawcett's diaries. He's my childhood hero, real-life Indiana Jones who really went where many wouldn't. And he's now going to be presented by Benedict Cumberbatch :)

Lol forgot to mention them :)
P.S. I would recommend you to read Exploration Fawcett first :)

I just finished GONE GIRL and I am super excited for the movie to come out in 2015. The cast of the movie is already out there and it seems like it's gonna be a pretty good one. That hook is twisted and I think it will make a great movie. Movie I would definitely watch!
I'm looking forward to The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History
by Robert M. Edsel.
I have actually read All You Need Is Kill, because I've seen the trailer for Edge of Tomorrow. And boy I'm glad I did :) If anyone's into sci-fi, I can highly recommend the book.

I read "Rescuing da Vinci: Hitler and the Nazi's Stole Europe's Great Art, America and Her Alies Recovered It" by Edsel.

I have pretty high expectations for that film. Although, I had them for Oblivion too, and boy how disappointed I was. I hope this one won't though!

LOL it took me some time to decipher on which books do you refer :) I agree with Maleficent, I am not sure what to think of it either. I wish to see Saving Mr. Banks too. I've seen one interview with Tom Hanks, where he reveals that all the photos of Disney were photoshoped, because he couldn't ever be seen without a cigarette in his hand. I didn't have a clue!

There are some interesting movies I noticed just now (with Vronk's help too - thank you!)

Hector and the Search for Happiness
Testament of Youth
The Giver
Brooklyn
London Fields
The Creed of Violence
Inherent Vice
This is Where I Leave You
Trash
Cold in July

The Clockwork Girl
To save some space, I jumbled them all together. Sorry if that appears a tad incomprehensible... Now, do you see among them some you would like to see too?

Ha, from the trailer I concluded only that it looks cool. If you ask me about what it is, I have no idea, some loops forward and backward in time with a lot of action in between :) In any case then I guess it would be as usual safer to see the movie first then to read the book! Of course, for those who haven't read the book already :(

Here comes quite comprehensive list of movies that we might see this year adapted from books, courtesy of Brad Brevet from Rope of Silicon website:

I am looking forward to Devil's Knot. Based on the true story, account of which was written in the book Devil's Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three by Mara Leveritt.

I haven't read the book, but still, that wouldn't make sense :o I get it when filmmakers choose not to depict every detail of the book, but to change the whole ending, now isn't that drastic?

A new trailer is out for
Half of a Yellow Sun, based on the novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton and John Boyega, Indiewire reported. Biyi Bandele adapted the screenplay and directed the film that opens in the U.K. April 11., though no U.S. date has been set at this point.http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylis...
Jeff Bridges is perfect as the Giver.https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...
Release date in the US is August 15.
Wait, wikipedia confirms: Gone Girl is coming out October this year! http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gone_G...
I'd heard a bit about changing the ending of Gone Girl as well. Can't discuss without giving away the entire book, but yes, that's a bit drastic, although I have some ideas of how it MIGHT be changed. It was my impression that the author herself was involved in some of the changes, tho? Or is that just something I thought I heard?
im looking forward to divergent (and finally getting a couple people to read the books!) and wondering what they are planning to do with the ending for gone girl since ive heard they are changing it completely. that should be interesting. the next book im going to read is maze runner - right now im reading the prequel - so i will probably look forward to that, too, when i am done since ive heard good things about this book, too.
Interesting, now looking at this thread I see, The Lost City of Z was announced to be released in 2014, or at least I thought so (now don't ask me why, I have no idea). According to twitter posts and the film's fan site (I presume) the shooting will commence this summer 2015. Ah well. Just no more delays please!
