I've always loved DeMille's books, especially the ones with husband-wife anti-terrorist team John Corey and Kate Mayfield. But "The Quest" isn't about them, but seemed interesting. Who wouldn't be interested in the search for the Holy Grail? But I found out this is early DeMille. Way early. Like he wrote it in 1974 when he was still a pup. Don't know why his publisher resurrected it, but they did. It's a good story, but I'm amazed how different his writing style is now compared to then. The Quest isn't as fast paced, and it's much more character driven. But I can see flashes of his future self, including the trademark humor. Anyone else a fan?
