November Challenge - Historical Fiction PLUS TBR
The good thing is I have 3 historical fiction novels on my TBR!I think I'll go with Burial Rites, Sarah Thornhill and Reading in the Dark.
Yay - Not Wisely but Too Well fits the Historical Fiction and then I'll add as many other books as I can from my TBR.

If you'd like to Ashleigh, that is perfectly fine:) And as it's a month to lower your TBR as well, you can read as many as you like;)

I'm going to read The Narrow Road To The Deep North by Richard Flanagan for my Historical Fiction, then as many from my TBR as I can!
Brenda wrote: "I'm going to read The Narrow Road To The Deep North by Richard Flanagan for my Historical Fiction, then as many from my TBR as I can!"I will be reading that too :)

Love this one Brenda. So many of my TBR's are historical fiction. Perfect!!! Thanks again for a great challenge.
I don't have much historical fiction on my TBR list but I see Possession is classified as such. So a good excuse to read it sooner rather than later.
I am definitely in. My must read historical novel is Sarah Dunant, Blood and Beauty. Plus the huge pile of TBR, I am on a mission!

Blood & Beauty: The Borgias by Sarah Dunant
Good on you Karren! November will be a big month of reading:)

Scanning through the lists, I see I've read quite a bit more historical fiction than I would have expected. Some of my favourites include The Red Tent, Year of Wonders, Fatal Majesty: A Novel of Mary, Queen of Scots and Through a Glass Darkly. Actually I've enjoyed all Reay Tannahill's historical novels.I was sitting on the couch just now and spotted something out of the corner of my eye: Wolf Hall - perhaps the time has come?!
I am going to try to tackle some of the historical fiction books that have been on my TBR list the longest.
Mary Reilly by Valerie Martin
Fair Exchange by Michèle Roberts
The Girl from Junchow by Kate Furnivall
The Jewel of St. Petersburg by Kate Furnivall
The Seamstress by María Dueñas
East of the Sun by Julia Gregson

I tried that one. I gave up fairly quickly. Hope you enjoy it more than I did

Great opportunity to do it Janine. Good luck with it & it’s a great list too :)
I am going to aim for 3 books.Historical Fiction The Painted Girls
Then The Hypnotist's Love Story
and then I'll see what takes my fancy from the rest of my TBR list.
I plan on starting with Deborah Challinor's Behind The Sun as my Historical Fiction choice, I have been saving this one and am really looking forward to reading it as well as some others on my TBR list.Behind the Sun
I'm currently reading
by Ted Kazmierski... An autobiographical account of survival in Poland under the Nazie and Soviet Occupation - not sure what after that.
For those who are planning to read
for this challenge, you might be interested to know that you can still watch the episode of ABC's Australian Story from July online. It is more about the writing and the publishing of the book, but covers some aspects of the plot as well. The link is here: http://www.abc.net.au/austory/special...I'm halfway through the book for the October challenge and decided to re-watch this to get some help with pronunciation, which I'm finding is slowing me down a bit. (Not that I mind reading it slowly - it is a book to wallow in!)
I've chosen a couple - lets see how many I can get through!
A Dangerous Inheritance / Alison Weir
ParisEdward Rutherfurdand although it's classified as a non-fiction book it says it reads as a novel
The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher: A Shocking Murder and the Undoing of a Great Victorian Detective / Kate Summerscale
I am going to read The Crucible and then try to read a couple from my TBR. I only got a couple of books from the library that are from previous months choices like Touch & Go and Blood Secret
Kadi wrote: "I am going to read The Crucible and then try to read a couple from my TBR. I only got a couple of books from the library that are from previous months choices like Touch & Go and Blood Secret"Touch & Gois absolutely awesome. I’m sure you’re going like it :)

I agree. Touch & Go is a terrific book. Her other books are good too.

I will be reading this as my historical book and then will see how many books I can get through from my TBR.

Been a bit slack on the challenge front - been pluging away at the Aussie Authors one and the seasonal challenges - but am going to join in on this one:Historical (and on the TBR pile) Blameless by Gail Carriger
Then a few from the TBR:
First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones
Secondhand Spirits by Juliet Blackwell
That should help me with a few other challenges as well :)

Hopefully will be reading The Young Lion
Blanche D'alpuget If it EVER gets around to my turn at the library. Fingers crossed there are a few Brendas (quick readers) in front of me :)

I loved it too, once I got used to the different 'voices'.
Mine will be The Seamstress also know as The Time in Between by María Dueñas.Then I'll tackle Nobody's Fool, The Risk Pool and Mohawk all by Richard Russo. Fingrs crossed they arrive from USA in time.
My Historical Fiction will be Uncle Tom's Cabin and will be aiming to read about six books off my TBR (low number as I'll be doing exams!)EDIT.
Historical Fiction:
Finished Uncle Tom's Cabin on the 25th November.
TBR Books:
Shadows by Ilsa J. Bick finished 2nd November
You Against Me by Jenny Downham finished 26th November
The Quiet American by Graham Greene finished 29th November, could classify as Historical too
Really need to stop reading books that aren't on my TBR!
Michael wrote: "I will be reading Crossing to Safety
by Wallace Stegner for my historical read. Still to decide about my TBR read."Beautiful book, Michael
Do we have to nominate ahead of time all the books we plan to read or can we just nominate our Historical Fiction and then see how we go from there?
Thanks Michael, I didn't want to set myself up with an over ambitious stack of books ahead of time :-{ Lol...some of those FH ones have millions of pages!! ...now I can just go for broke! ;-)
That's good to know Michael, I have plenty to choose from so just a matter of prioritizing now...hmmmm decisions. I have a few arcs so I might catch up with those and get some reviews out of the way :-)
I think I've made up my mind. Wolf Hall is too big, considering I'm going to be on holidays, so I'm going to read
Wanting by Richard Flanagan as my historial fiction. The TBR choices will depend on my holiday whim.
